Das always enjoy your commentary. A few laughs😂 and more info on whats happening at starbase. Thanks for all the hard work to the whole NSF team. Amazing.
9:02 I know exactly what you mean Das. I also had these picture books with construction sites and stuff I used to love to look at when I was a little kid, watching SBL is just like that for me.
9:01 Talking about Lowly Worm driving an apple in the Richard Scary books. I loved those. We know what you are talking about. And then followed by "Look at the flaps on that!" Cheers Das, I loved your KSP streams on twitch.
Is it okay to still be shocked that every starship made it through re-entry so far? The catch was amazing but the re-entry is still the event that shocks me the most out of everything. From the little flap that could to the new heatshield that did so much better to the aggressive re-entry on a skimpy old version heatshield. Like what an insane event to renter something the size of shuttle, I guess that is also why people adored the shuttle so much.
Hey Das, You do read all of the comments and I know that we appreciate you for this.... PS, I'm the one that took you up on the offer to have you do a video on the Math. Are you guys doing calendars for 2025??? Kindest Regards and God bless you and your family. ThanX
Nothing better than a good chuckle :) Also, spin primes are still exciting. I remember sitting for about 6h, watching tanks to see a little puff of 'smoke' under a water tower.
Das making reference to Richard Scarry books (and the Worm driving a car) made me 🤣 for a while. "Those of a certain age" know, and if the Galloway household included these GREAT educational resources it clearly turned out well (Das is much smarter than the average Bear). BTW> wasn't a Scarry book character for a cop = Bear? I guess that was era appropriate as well (CB radio slang = "Smokies").
This format is the best thing ever happened to NSF after that IFT-1 van assault! By the wayyy, always wondered about something, Das is an Indian surname. So anybody Indian on your parent's side or is it something else entirely!
It’ll be so interesting to see how much less work the new launch mount and deluge system will require. Too bad we can’t see how much maintenance the Masseys setup requires
Is that the space x logo on the ship disconnect - as the stiffening ribs?? Imagine working there and saying - hey you know this brace could be moved a little bit - and it will work as a space-x logo too?
Isn't it possible to get someone who knows what they are talking about to narrate these videos? You waffle and waffle and miss half of what's happening on the screen.
I doubt they can use removable pins. But welding on internal pins that would pop out during landing is not out of the question. They have to be as strong enough as the ones on the booster, but remember those on the booster are immovable. Will be interesting to see the solution.
Will the new OLM lower to the ground to accommodate the future growth in height of the booster/starship? If so, was it always intended to finally be that height for the final version of starship? If that's the case it explains how starship could get larger without rebuilding the tower. So I assume the original OLM is the equivalent of Skylabs milk stool mount. Any thoughts?
Correct, but maybe a bit out of order. The Starships were not supposed to be made longer when the OLM and tower were erected. The FAA allowed towers no taller than the first one, so they had to reduce the hight of the OLM, and in the future I suspect they will place the SQD higher up as the booster/ship get taller still. The lifting points on the ships will likely be placed lower down the body, so the chopsticks should be fine lifting the taller ships.
Hi John/Das, I know they want to remove rows of tiles from Starship so they do not interfere with the catch but they have heat problems on the stainless steel due to this. I had an idea. I watched the plasma flow around the flap hinge bumps and noticed that it gets diverted outward away from the ship. Could they extend the hinge covers or bumps to the entire length of the ship or maybe even chines covered with heat tiles to divert the plasma away from the ship to help protect the stainless steel from heat damage. I would call them Plasma Diverters. Maybe you could pass this on to Elon Musk. I really don't like the idea of using excess ullage gas for cooling. Let me know what you think.
Really interesting counter weight management on that crane.
Love the Richard Scarey reference. What a nostalgia hit! ❤
Verticated is my new favourite word!
Totally get the Richard Scary reference. One of my favorite childhood books. When I had my kids I made sure to read them the Richard Scary series.
Thanks again, Das. Merry early Christmas.
What catches my eye is how much cleaner the welds are on the upcoming starships. They seem almost seamless.
The rings in each 4-ring section are laser welded. I don't think they use lasers when welding the sections together.
Look at the flaps on that! Das, that is the funniest thing ever! You are a star Sir!
Too much time spent looking at space hardware Das!
Das-ism of the day: 0:24-0:28

WOW thats a way more interesting LR11000 with the awesome counterweight hydraulic mechanism...not to mention a smashing colour. In action at last!!
I do like the look of the almost seamless new boosters
Hats off to all those guys just hangin around. Rigging is an awesome job. Every challenge is different. Those crane operators are the boss too!
Das and NSF, y'all rock! Love the channel and content. Thanks for the update. Peace 🤘
Thanks John - it’s been a joy to see you all grow these last five years.
When do we get the next jet washer video for the new FT design?! 😅

Richard Scarry books are awesome for kids. Lowly Worm FTW.
We loved those things. Even had a Lowly stuffed animal. 😅 - Das
You’re continuin’ to do good, Das!

Richard Scary fan here, loved those books, TY for the memory and smile.
Good stuff. Go Starship, go SpaceX. 🇺🇸
Really like and appreciate your commentary!
I really like your commentary, it's about the best on youtube, no clickbait unlike some of your peers. You are doing a great job.
High praise, thank you. - Das

love these videos

Have you forgotten IFT1-3?
A Richard Scary Big Book of Spaceflight would be awesome. "Look Dad, it's the banana for scale!"
+1 for featured comments

Thanks for the update Das. You are the David Attenborough of rockets
I'll take it 😅 - Das
Loved the Richard Scary books. I believe his name was Lowly Worm.
Yeah that was it. With the apple car. 😅 - Das
Yes! Richard Scarry's Busytown!
Hvala NASA 👍🇺🇲🚀💫💫💫
Dang it, i saw the short about the static fire and some how missed the premiere for this.
Great work all around! 😃🚀🤓
Das, I watch all our narrated videos, keep up the good work, you do a great job.
Das, how long have you ever watched a tank? Its like watching a rock grow.
Thanks, Das!
Need to make a short of 33 static fire. Thanks Das. if you still want some Military gear, let me know.
"work only with Irion sites."
Of course, CHICKEN LEGS got first. Well I got my Flight 6 patch today!!!

Right? 80s kids, probably. Between Richqrd Scarry, LEGO, hot glue and cardboard, and living in the country, seemed to work out ok. 😅 - Das
nice work
Love the "verticated". Great narration as always. And I am a 61 year old nerd.
GO SpaceX! Keep DAS busy
Pretty soothing video !
4:42 The stars at night, are big and bright, 👏👏👏👏, Deep in the Heart of “Starbase”… 🎶🎵
Hi das 😊
love the crane stuff it was soooo cool
Hi Das!
Hi Mary i love all your work
Fascinating ❤
Did the cryo stand go "Wee wee wee" all the way there? 🤣
Ship 33 flaps are in Hug Mode
the outer shell from welding is slag just sayn. we use a chipping hammer and wire brush to clean the weld
Hi John
@NASASpaceflight - Das you've labeled this as ambient again 😂😂
No, seems to be correct on this end? - Das
hey John i want to use the new word in my vocabulary if i could, verticated i love it
Hey, it's an easily understandable word! Hah. - Das
@NASASpaceflight cheers mate
Has there been any known progress on the ship catch pin systems?
Bravo SpaceX 👍🚀🇺🇲👏👏👏
Look at the flaps on that....Das classic!! 😂😂

At 8:55 it reminds me of "find Waldo"🤣
Vertical tanks at the launch site??
They must feel very confident about the new flame trench!
It's not we don't like listening to you it's that your soo Happy with your tech 😳
“Look at those flaps” 😂😂
👍🥰
Are the vertical tanks for the air liquifaction plant that spacex were planning on building?
huge counter weights

Hello
the 2 lift pins you can see on ship 33, do you think they will be sticking out like that for flight, or will they fold out when it's ready to land?
I doubt they can use removable pins. But welding on internal pins that would pop out during landing is not out of the question. They have to be as strong enough as the ones on the booster, but remember those on the booster are immovable. Will be interesting to see the solution.
Worms are pending regulatory approval in my brain.
No 200 but I Take My Time ✌⌛😎
Do you guys think they will update the OLM to the same one on tower two?
Why do they have vertical tanks again?
The stars at night are big and bright...
the lead-in can be made a LOT shorter.
Hiii
I heard the average weight of a cloud is something like 80 tons.
"Look at the flaps on that" has to be up there with "nice beaver" from Naked Gun.
watching a rocket drive down the street is very very funny. if you're not in the traffic
it's funny to hear you think out loud.....hahaha
So that's what happened to all my metal scraps my mom recycled over the years!

How big are clouds? 🤣
Well, do you know?? 🤣 - Das
Do we know yet what booster will be the first V2? Booster 20 perhaps?
Not yet.
hope this is a compliment, but you sound very much like falcon from gameranx.
good sense of humour too.
Ill.. take it? - Das
I'm checking If you read all the comments...give a shoutout to Clyde in South Africa.
Will OLM1 be scrapped after OFT7?
Only SpaceX knows. Unlikely, because OLM2 is far from ready to replace OLM1.
Why would it be? Its fine!
@@AgentLeon Elon has said it will be, that's all.
They removed the vertical tanks for horizontal ones, now the construct them again; why?
What time does it start?
"it"?
The ship reminds me of a penguin marching
Is RRT-1 today or rescheduled again?
The government should make that road private.

DAS, 7:30 Completely missed the flame bucket deluge system,
He saw it the second time.
Keep watcing 😅 - Das
They plumbed in the hippos??? Did they peach in the rhinos too?
Did you read this Das?
No, didn't see this one. - Das
@@NASASpaceflight Ah thats good to hear.
