Bless you Stan for talking about the anxiety attacks. Keeping it inside is what creates the attacks. Acknowledging the feelings we’re holding in, to ourselves, and unpacking them so we can accept them and let our emotional reactions to life pass through us throughout our day is how we heal 💜

Stan, thank you for your service. Thank you to your friend that passed for his service. People don't understand how mentally challenging what you do is, and I'm so so appreciative of what you do. Mama and Stan, your relationship is such an amazing example of what a true partnership is. I love you guys so so so much. Love your transparency, your honesty, and especially your family. As someone that struggles with severe anxiety, it's sooooo important to have support around you. What works for me when I'm anxious is finding things around you that deal with the 5 senses. 5 things you can see, 4 things you can feel, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste. that grounds me often!

I've lived with anxiety my whole life and I'm only 22 (especially getting attacks at night) and its horrible having your body react in a way you know isn't rational or realistic, but having someone to simply hear you while you talk is such an amazing type of therapy! Something that really helped me to is getting out of your room or home and going for a short walk/drive to get fresh air and sort of get out of your head and let a different perspective in. Sometimes the brain feels anxious and senses danger of something irrational and changing your environment can trick it into feeling like you're away from that "danger"

When Stan feels an attack coming on, try this. And he can do it over and over until he calm down. Most of the time this will at least take the edge off but it can completely stop an attack. Look and count, nice and slow-
    5 things you see
    4 things you hear
3 things you're touching or can touch
think of 2 things you like to eat
    what do you smell?
Deep, controlled breaths. Let your senses reset.
Also (and he might not like this or want to try it) cutting way back on sugar/sweets intake helps most people. It's not fun, but it's worth it. His B vitamins might be off too (you can look up how important B vitamins are for this type of thing). Jarrow is a good brand for B's. Regular B's from the store are often not in a form most people's bodies can properly use so look for B's that are methylated (start with a small dose. If he is really deficient starting with a regular dose can make things worse for a day or so. The Jarrow brand are very easy to cut in half). If he will drink herbal tea, get him one that has chamomile in it. I personally love sleepy time peach herbal tea and it has chamomile. It is soothing and it can also help to calm you down. On more of a spiritual level, pray and ask God to send any evil spirits away that might be in your home or affecting you. Ask him to send angels to watch over you and help to calm you. I hope one or more of these things help. Usually it's a combo that ends up working most of the time and the knowing that you have things available to help you can really be a big help because otherwise it can feel like you are alone in it and you don't have any tools to get you out of it. “If for a while the harder you try, the harder it gets, take heart. So it has been with the best people who ever lived." Jeffrey R. Holland

I’ve suffered with crippling anxiety and panic disorder for over 20 years and I feel for you and your experience. It’s a very real and scary thing that is truly happening inside your body....even if you know in your mind that it will pass....it still feels like in those moments, you are on the verge of death. Its very hard for people to understand if they have never experienced it themselves, and that can be very frustrating at times. It’s a daily struggle for me and because of the meds I’ve been on for 20 years....my body is so dependent on them and as much as I’ve tried to ween off...I haven’t had success. I’m 37 years old and since the age of 16 I have been working with children in some capacity. I’ve worked with deaf children, autistic children, children with behavior problems and typical children. I’ve taught preschool and Pre-k and have been a nanny for many years as well. However, I don’t have children of my own because I don’t want to be on medication while pregnant...but I can’t get off them 😩 I’m not getting any younger and I want nothing more than to be a mom...but I’m afraid that window is closing and I may never get there. The struggle is real and I appreciate you speaking out about your story! Sending positive vibes and peace your way ✌🏼❤️

To Stan...it is so great that you talk about how you are feeling and what you are going through. Talking really helps to heal.
I came across a quote (was possibly in a movie but it made sense to me) ....."If you pray for patience, God wont suddenly make you patient but will give you opportunities to become more patient"
Same could be said for strength or anything really.
As weak as you may feel now.......you will gain something from having gone through these challenges. Whether it be the ability to understand others more, to help others going through similar struggles, to become even closer or to be a stronger person. You both are such a team and its great that you have each other to face the dark nights together.
    Take care.

hi there, I'm Hazardgirl from Canberra Australia, I have extremely severe Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy as well as many many other disabilities/conditions/ailments that stem from it. I'm also a singer/songwriter/performer/all-around media agent too and I love it because it's not only something/ many things that I love live and breathe but with the singing it also me to stretch and relax all the muscles and organs involved in enabling us to sing, that also help and allow us to drink/swallow/chew etc.
I also wanted to say that I came across your channel and your story after seeing it on Facebook, and felt so immensely moved and touched by your story. thank you so so very much for showing us all the world over just it means to have love and to be TRULY LOVED, despite having many many health challenges, just as my awesome mate and pseudo brother and fellow singer/songwriter - Luke O'Shea (pictured in profile pic) did for me (and will forever continue to do so), given that my own estranged birth parents, failed immensely in giving me this.
To have the immense love/support/guidance etc from Luke at first was extremely overwhelming for me as you could imagine, however, very slowly over a period of time I began to learn and know just what it was like to have love and to be loved. Luke and his family along with our extended Country Music Family are indeed my awesome pseudo-family and I am and will forever remain grateful for this.
    Kind Regards,
    Hazardgirl

Anxiety is so overwhelming. It goes from feeling extreme anxiety to what we call in Ireland/England a panic attack which is physical. The body goes into fight or flight response and pumps in adrenaline. The breathing is affected and it can sometimes feel you are dying! Regulating the breathing is a big key to controlling the feeling of breathlessness and sometimes nausea. Having someone saying 'breathe slowly, in to five breaths, out to five breaths etc. Sometimes breathing into a brown paper bag helps - Macdonalds bags are the best!!! How do I know this? I ha a period of anxiety around 20 years ago, and ended up training as a spychotherapist/counsellor - a job i did for 25 years before retiring 4 years ago. If you ever want to talk or message, please go ahead and do so.So many people are feeling the strain right now. Love you all and will pray for you too. It just shows the feeling, sincere person you are Stan. xxx

So, i've been dealing with anxiety for some time now, and I believe that when we go through anything it's just so we can help others. What really healped me, besides talking, it was touching somebody else douring the crises, or feeling their heart beat, exercise and for sure lots of meditation (when i say the last one, people don't really believe me, but it's amazing!!)

I’m sorry you’re having anxiety, i’ve had panic attacks since I was about 20. I’m almost 50 now. They’re still just as scary to me as they were in the beginning. I’ve gotten used to handling them alone out of necessity but i’m glad you have good support and seem to be on the right track. I hope your anxiety goes away soon! I wish you guys all the best 💕

As someone who gets panic attacks, I want to thank you for talking about them. It’s more common than you may realize. I began having them when my father was suffering from cancer, and when sadly he passed they continued to happen intermittently. They are quite scary when they happen, and plain logic alone doesn’t generally stop them in their tracks, because they have nothing to do with intelligence, strength, or common sense. It’s the body’s automatic “fight or flight” response getting activated at unnecessary times.

My husband is a vet 2 and have an anxiety disorder and at times his anxiety really gets bad sometimes. For x amount of years he had night terrors while he was sleeping and he just to swing his arms hard and I can't tell how many times I got hit with elbow or fist but he would not know or wake up from it. The last 2.5 years he have had less of that .
I think what helps him is that he is not ashamed of it and talk open about it.
Sir it's nothing to be ashamed of and it take strength to talk about it and the more secure that you feel about talking about it the "easier" it will be for you to handel it when it knocks you down and people around can help you with what you need at that moment. Sending love and prayers

Lizzie has gained sooo much weight. Thank you God. I pray He continues to heal her beautiful soul & body. So glad she's out of cast. Emerson, with dark hair, would look just like mommy. Each of my kids had accidents...nothing major thank God. Sad thing, it was always OUR vehicles first that got dented, swiped, scratched....then they got their own vehicles after they practiced on ours.

I suffered years ago from panic attacks, at first I thought I was having a heart attack. The room would start spinning, everything would become silent and I would put my head between my knees and just wait for it to pass. One time I was at work when it happened and they sent for an ambulance. That's when the doctor's said I was suffering from panic attacks. I ended up taking medication to get rid of them (I am still on the medication.) It's been 10 years and they have not returned. I'm sure there is a more natural way to deal with them, I hope the best for you both, hang in there Stan and I'm so glad you decided to share.

Kristine Price If you don’t mind Kristine, May I ask what medication helped stop your panic attacks? I’ve been dealing with them for years, and they are so awful when they occur. They’re worse mainly if I feel “trapped” in a place that I can’t easily exit if I need to. Thank you so much Kristine, a potentially effective medication to be aware of would be so helpful!

@@TheAccessoryGirl The medication I take is called Escitalopram which is generic for Lexapro. It affects the Seratonin levels in your brain. My niece has tried so many different anxiety meds but hasn't had any luck. I hope you find some relief from your attacks soon🥰

I have dealt with anxiety many times in my life but God has always rescued me. I understand the desperate feeling and I also know the calming of remembering that I am not alone. Also, I try to focus on something that will hold my attention and give me a purpose at that moment. This usually helps me calm down enough to remind me that the Lord is always at my side and he is not going anywhere.
I will definitely be praying for you!
