    The Jazz started out great in the lockout shortened 1999 season but they seemed to run outta gas down the stretch. They went 5-5 the last 10 which allowed San Antonio to jump them for the division and #1 seed. After how much of a struggle this 1st round series against the Kings proved to be it wasn't too much of a surprise when Utah lost to Portland in the next round, even if they had made the WCF it's very unlikely they would've beaten the red hot Spurs.

    This whole series (except this last game) was a great example that shows that the league front office no longer wanted the Jazz to advance. . they were tired of the Jazz
    (which actually started in 98 but the Jazz were just too good ..even cheats didnt work except in the Finals).
    ~
    One way you can tell who the league has designed to win a game or series back then is to listen to the commentators. They were heavily heavily trying to hype up the Kings the entire series.
    I knew in this series though that the Jazz were too over the top better than the Kings then and even cheats wouldnt work in this series.

    • @JasongCLJ
      @JasongCLJ 10 місяців тому +2

      This last game of this series however apparently the league changed its mind and said to go ahead and let the Jazz through this time. Jazz didnt have a great game but atleast the bad calls were more evenly distributed .. even maybe a bit more for Utah which hadnt happened all series for sure.
      Uncommonly has it happened that the league changes thier decision in the middle of a series but it did here.
      Either you know and see these things or you dont.
      Im not trying to convince anyone.
      Those who know . . know.
      The next Jazz series however the freemason league was surely on a mission to eliminate Jazz , clearly.

    Dick Bavetta out there doing the devil’s work. Unfortunately, the Kings fans would see him again.

    Webber was my favorite player but he should have been in isolation at the end of games in the clutch, not Vlade. Vlade was good but cmon, the season can not come to him that many possessions in a row.

    • @MDBBall
      @MDBBall  6 місяців тому

      Actually Vlade did quite well in the clutch the previous 2 games which is why they probably went to him this game as well. On the other hand, Webber couldn't get it going at all this game, even being ineffective with Bryon Russell guarding him down the stretch (which this video sadly doesn't really show) plus his free throw percentage was an awful 40% for the series. I guess this is probably why the Kings went with the more experienced Divac but he like Webber couldn't really deliver for the Kings in the deciding game 5.

    • @danwesson1934

      @@MDBBall Not delivering in the clutch was a narrative that followed him his whole career. Kinda like a Tony Romo. He was my favorite player and I watched every game I could. Vlade was indeed clutch at times, no doubt but telling that they never went to Webber during those handful of key possessions late in the game which is usually reserved for your superstar. Vlade was being guarded by the undersized 6”9 Malone albeit much stronger.

    Kings should been champs in 2002, but the refs rigged it for the Lakers to three peat.

      How? By making the Kings shoot 16 for 30 from the FT line in Game 7? By having Stojakovic and Christie wildly miss go ahead 3’s in regulation and OT? By not calling the Webber moving screen on Derek Fisher or Bobby Jackson pulling Kobe’s jersey out of his shorts “defending” at the end of Game 5? The Queens choked…plain and simple. All this refs stuff is sour grapes from bitch made haters like yourself.

    Did anyone else see the score of 78 to 77? Wow! Basketball was a mess. Where is Ant-Man when you need him? Everyone talks about how physical it was to play then. Really, could they even shoot the ball? I appreciate the NBA on NBC games, but the style of play was difficult to watch. Competitive, but difficult to watch.

      This trend dumb as hell tbh. Kobe KG Duncan etc played in 90s and they was still in the league in 2010s lol. I know some older fans like to trash modern era so I think that a lot of young fans want to do the same. It’s just different eras man you can’t say this or that. No need to trample on the past or to shit on the guys today
