@@purplebutterflywithabrokenwing Not sure if it's 40%, more like 25% but the fact is that during his military service which is mandatory in Finland he did catch tuberculosis and as a result a significant part of his lungs had to be removed.

Loved watching you enjoy this. Jari, the singer/guitarist, is also the composer. He is a master of layers. As you are still early in your Nightwish journey, you probably didn't realize that Kai, the drummer, and Jukka, the bassist, now both also perform with them. Kai took over from Jukka the drummer who had to retire due to severe insomnia. Jukka the bassist took over the bass parts from Marko when he left the band. Wintersun has a new album coming out very soon, for the first time in years, and everyone is quite excited about that.

I like the progression in this song, but Jari’s obsession with piling up layers upon layers upon layers upon layers of keyboards gets really annoying about halfway through. It just becomes a wall of noise.

@@noneofyerbeeswax8194 Yeah, Nightwish is a walk in the park for Kai. But even Nightwish has some workouts for their drummer. No rest in "Shudder for the Beautiful". Not complicated, but constant banging.
I agree. I was really excited after waiting a decade for this album to come out only to be disappointed. The rawness of the self titled album wins out. But alas jari is obsessed with Devin Townsend and his wall of sound
