I love that Alex acknowledged Greg’s mistake to the camera so the people at home weren’t annoyed but didn’t correct him so the banter wasn’t disrupted 😂

Whatever comes out Lucy's mouth is absolute nonsense which would probably not be funny if anyone else said it but with her accent and delivery I just cry laughing at her. She is as daft as a brush. Mixed with Greg who questions everything she says makes it even funnier 😂
I've never seen Alex laugh so genuinely as he does with Lucy.
Can already tell Sue is going to absolutely nail this series. Lateral thinking, Positivity, Dexterity, Energy and Wit, she's got it in the bag.
Mel and Shoe are truly perfect for Taskmaster!

Lucy embodies the "polite chaos"...
The plan was simple: bring Lucy on to break Greg's brain for Alex' amusement.
Greg looks genuinely flabbergasted every time she opens her mouth. I can't get enough of it!
I feel so, so happy that Greg's reaction to Lucy is almost exactly the same as my own. I think she's bound to join Mortimer and Key as a favorite. She basically already has.

She just strikes me as being utterly useless at this.
@@helen6271 While she certainly isn't an ace at tasks, that seems a bit harsh. More importantly though, their ability to complete what's written on the cards is such a tiny part of what's going on it basically doesn't factor into who my favorite contestants are. Lucy's utterly unique way of thinking is just wonderful to behold.
@@jessesutton7985This. I don't watch it to see who's the best at whatever task they were given. I watch it for the hilarity and shenanigans of the personalities they have on, and Lucy has a lot of weird and quirky things about her that makes her interesting.
Oh my god! Lucy is going to be a perfect combination of Katherine Parkinson and Fern Brady. Baddiel might be off the hook as worst ever Taskmaster contestant.
But, Baddiel will always be the most annoying contestant ever.
I'm really excited for deleted scenes from this series. The series itself is off to a cracking start!
The episode was only 5 minutes in and I knew I d love it.
I have a feeling that this will be my favorite cast and series.

Yeah, it had grabbed me by the end of this prize task and I knew it was going to be a fantastic series. I can see Sam being the Mike Wozniak of this series - someone I don't know but quickly becomes a favourite with the best quotes.

I'm looking forward to watching this series! Seems like a fun cast. Lucy Beaumont reminds me of Bridget and Katherine. Never seen Alex this amused with any other contestant. 😂
I love this series so much I find myself rewatching clips from Season 16, mostly Lucy’s 😂
Whatever Lucy is fed or drinks needs to be shared around set.

Being able to watch this series as it airs would be reason enough to move to the UK. I was cry laughing @ Lucy with her legs and arms. And SUE!!! I love her on any given day but Sue on taskmaster is next level!

When she started going on about the legs, I actually had to go back to listen to the whole thing again because I thought I must have misheard something. One of my favorites on this show, Lucy was amazing.

So, the rule was that if the duck leaves the course it must reenter the course at the same place.
But the duck did not start inside the course.
Does that mean that the contestants could have just never entered the course to begin with, and taken the duck around?

It takes me more than 5 minutes to let all the air out of my air mattress, goodness knows how long it would take to deflate a big old duck to a maneouvre-able state and then I'd imagine it'd be like dragging a roll of carpet through the course.

Such a great start to the new series, we watched it as it aired last night, but please Channel 4, can you not put a constant advertisement in the top right of the screen?! There are enough ads during the show, we don’t need to know that Bakeoff is coming while trying to watch TM (or any other show you add it to). Cheers.

Honest question as I'm not aware of her work, is Lucy playing a persona/doing an act or is she a bit simple?
Honestly, I don't know. Sometimes I think she's genuine, sometimes an exagerrated act of the real her. She's married to previous TM contestant Jon Richardson who does the latter for comedic effect, so maybe she does the same?
Lucy B is listed as an actress, stand up comedian and writer. So I suspect that, for the show, she is 'amplifying' her natural persona.

I don't get all the hate. I thought it was one of the funniest episodes I've seen in a long time. I also think the lineup is a great choice. A good clash of different personalities. Lucy plays on it a bit, but it's for comedic effect, and it works. People need to lighten up.

There's a couple of mildly negative comments towards Lucy and Sue but the vast, vast majority here are positive. There is no hate, so maybe it's you that needs to lighten up.
I do agree though that it was a fantastic episode and I hope they show some clips from Sam, especially for the studio task.

I wouldn't call her weird. There are many negative things that I would call her. I can't think of anything positive or neutral to say about her.
I think that as long as she is tidy, Jon is fine with her quirky nature.

Lucy seems like a very dim bulb
I really want to like her because I want to support female comedians. But her persona, God I hope it is a persona, just seems to vacillate between empty-headed blonde stereotype and then just really cruel at times. I hope this program can change my mind but that prize task was cringy.

@@seanfahertyactually there is an interview with Greg and Alex who say they first thought it was a character but then realized bit by bit, that she is like that.
My feeling is, that she just thinks very differently and that one can not always understand what she wants to say.
