One of those first screams at the end is 100% me. I went to visit my friend in New York and he took me to see Disaster. This show is packed with Broadway stars and I was in heaven. After the show ended and right before this video began Seth was setting up the performance. I remember him saying something along the lines of... one of our cast members is known for a song that they haven’t sung in over 20 years and it happens to be a Disney song. I about lost my $$$$ and started bawling on the spot because (as a huge Disney fan) I knew that Roger was the OG singing voice of Hercules. My friend, obviously, had no clue this was going to happen and also knew that it’s hands down my favorite Disney movie. I know he wasn’t singing to me (especially since I didn’t win the floor seats that those very generous people donated $10,000 for) but it felt like he was singing it for me. It was top 5 best nights of my life. I’ll never forget it.
Hands down my favorite Disney song. In all the years it never crossed my mind to see who sung this song and I was shocked when I saw who it was. I just saw him on A Series of Unfortunate Events.
I remember seeing him when I was a teen when Young Frankenstein premiered in Seattle. I didn't know at the time he was Hercules' singing voice, and all I knew him from was Desperate Housewives, so I was SHOCKED to discover the creepy pharmacist could sing! He was also great in a non-singing role in the severely underrated SciFi miniseries The Lost Room. What a talented guy!
His voice transporting me like a time machine back to my son's toddler days as they were loving this movie with me! We all still love it to this day! Thank you Menken & Zippel. Thank you Roger Bart for sharing the gift of your voice with us.
I'm 100% certain that if I had been there I would've been an absolute blubbering mess especially if I was sitting in one of floor seats. Roger's voice is so beautiful and uplifting it's incredible that it hasn't changed one bit since the movie's release. Hercules was definitely one of my favorite Disney films growing up. ❤
Go the distance Great Job Roger bart great Disney journey adventure song Hercules the Main Charcter guy is willing to do anything to do what he needs to do and get it done so Hercules can be a good hero Love this good song oh yeah!!! 😊👍🎵
I used to sing this song all the time. I still do, lol. It never crossed my mind to find out who was the singer until now. Roger Bart is amazing. Alen Menkin is also amazing for writing such a good song.
To this day I've never heard anyone else capture the same emotional weight this dude was able to capture. Everyone sings it with the wrong emotional support and it's always bugged me. Don't get me started on the stupid pop version by Michael Bolton 😂
Why he didn’t provide the vocals for more Disney princes, and why he didn’t have more than one freaking solo (This video is lumping the original song and the reprise together, and so will I) is beyond me
@DemonKingNemo sorry to disappoint you, he's the son of the King of the God's which makes him the Prince of the God's, pretty much the prince of princes. You couldn't be more wrong.
Holy shit...his voice hasn't aged in twenty years 👍👍👍
HIS VOCAL CONTROL AMAZES EVEN THE GODS!
hahaha facts
That’s his specialty
He sounds exactly the same.
He's the actual singing voice of Hercules
@@jessical2277 I think that the original comment meant that he sounds the same as he did in 1997 when he sang it originally for Hercules.
I wouldn’t say exactly. His voice has changed a bit but that could be the microphone. Would love to hear him sing with better quality tech equipment
Musical theater is a different breed of artist
0:26 - I love the audience gasping in anticipation of what they're about to hear!

Damn his clarity and brightness is killing me. Such a great singer!
His voice is clear as a bell
This is a good example of why Roger is one Of my absolute favorite Broadway stars.
How the hell does a voice just not change after over 20 years !??? What the fuck this is Genius
Roger singing it makes him so young . haha
I say this a lot about high notes, but I feel like this one is justified: that final high note was absolutely TRANSCENDENT.
Hands down my favorite Disney song. In all the years it never crossed my mind to see who sung this song and I was shocked when I saw who it was. I just saw him on A Series of Unfortunate Events.
Mines too!
i just found out about this after watching him on camera for the first time on a Series of Unfortunate events, i'm still shocked for his actoral range
@@samuelgomez1802 I saw him on Series also but didn't know until I saw this video that he sung too. And he sounds so young when he sings.
Such an amazing voice. Clear as a fucking bell.
Ooof that last note though ❤

omg i thought the very same.. THAT CREEPY PHARMACIST?!?!?!
@@emmaw7853 Haha glad to know I'm not the only one!

Did you say time machine? Then, you're in luck because that is Doc Brown singing for ya. Not only that, he played Snoopy and Scamp!
wtf his voice didn’t age a DAY 😳

I love how silly Roger is but then still takes singing this song seriously
Vice Principal Nero daydreaming about people finally seeing him as a musical genius.
I was thinking just the same. XD
Scrolling through the comments waiting for this. Thanks haha
EXACTLY
OMG🤣🤣🤣 Yes!
Is he also daydreaming that he can sing, too?
My night playlists : Go the Distance, Part of Your World, & Into the Unknown

Go the distance Great Job Roger bart great Disney journey adventure song Hercules the Main Charcter guy is willing to do anything to do what he needs to do and get it done so Hercules can be a good hero Love this good song oh yeah!!! 😊👍🎵
Wow I feel like I'm watching the movie again his voice hasn't changed.
Flawless 👏🏼
I went to school with his daughter, she went into theater as well.

what a clear voice . does he has an autotune on his throat?
John, that's not how autotune works 🤣
Kevin, learn how jokes work.
Roger Bart in Hostel 2 : "I am fucking Hercules"
I laughed at this so much when I saw the movie already knowing he was the voice of Hercules. Ohh the irony 😂
His dick got cut off 😂😂😂
it took until to day to realize he played hurcules
He sounds the same and I love it
I want his talent! His voice so freakin amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is the a God of the Voice, cuz think that Roger Burt would defiantly that God!
Absolutely amazing!!! Still got it years later! So cool to see the person behind one of the best songs from a Disney movie!
My childhood is rejuvenated
Love him! Freaking amazing!
*I LOVE ROGER BART*
he came to my school today.
Wow! That's cool...I wanna meet him. I hope you got an autograph?
I didn't get an autograph, but I did get a high five. He's a cool dude.
Saw him as Hades in the park! He was incredible!!!
Wow! Fantastic!

I literally can't believe this is the same guy that plays Stuart in Hostel Part 2
No fuckin way
1:23 - light headed
1:45 - faints
Eu jurava que quem cantava era um jovem tipo 18 anos, por conta da voz, kkk k...
Wow
Wait that's the dude from Hostel!

Hercules isn't a prince lol
@@DemonKingNemo eh, he occupies a princely kind of role. And you know what I mean.

He still sounds the same!!!!!
He was in the second Harold and Kumar.
