I don't understand how they justify the $65k price tag. I could buy a full size house for that (on a 1/4 acre of land). The entire movement was started to get away from this high price tag housing market.

Agreed, but it is expected for those who have money to follow along. DIY builds are still possible providing local codes are followed, and that's how you keep the costs down. During the gas crunch I remember people who were financially stable spending ridiculous amounts of money buying and fixing up little cars just to save a little more on gas. Sure there's pee in the pool, but we can use the opposite side. 😊👍🏻

The bed is not the only problem. Did you see a fridge, or storage of any kind for clothing and other things? This is far from a home.

I assumed a cooler was in one of the cupboards (basically all of the storage was that sink/bench unity).
Get home, throw clothes in sink. Tap around on laptop, then watch the big ass wall set tv. This isn't a home, its a capsule hotel.
Probably eats out every day, comes home to sleep. Toilet for emergency shit. Shower is for aesthetics.
ITS A CHILLOUT PLACE FOR THE BOYS ON A LAZY WEEKEND;NOT NECESSARILY A HOME FOR FAMILY PURPOSES.

Yeah, the couch/bed transformation I'm sure, is a no go for a lot of people. At $65K it's way overpriced considering there's no land, storage, roof, foundation, HVAC, major appliances and probably minimal insulation.

@@glenmacdonald3477 There's more info if you're observant, like the floor plan, the details like they offer kits and that means a lot can be just up to the client and how they want to set it up and what they want to spend on it, additional video links, a 360 tour option, and you can contact them for any questions you can't figure out from all of that...

Supongo q Tyni es cuando el diseño de interiores actúa y hace de un espacio pequeño algo estéticamente confortable. Me gusta ese concepto porque es más fácil de limpiar, no es eco porq le incorporan tecnología pero está chévere... Antes a eso en mi país le llamaban rancho porq no era muy agradable a la vista pero vale la pena, seria bueno para q la UNESCO onu y ACHNUR dotaran de este sistema a familias de hasta 3 miembros. $20K to build including materials and labor, $45K in profit from the someone who's willing to pay the asking price.
For commercial container conversion that's actually done right... Unlikely, most under this are cutting corners... But you can build one yourself for less or find one that isn't so nicely done. Check out youtube channel Containing Luxury, it's an educational channel on building containers. They even offer seminars where they can train you to DIY but are posting videos you can check out for figuring out how much container builds actually cost and what building choices effect the price the most...
I'd rather take the 65k and go bicycle tour around the world for the next 20 years than live in an Ikea shite box.
You can see some amazing sights and experiences just from traveling. Digital nomads now in today's society have it made.

@@tarequekhan1993 Good luck, tiny house builders make less than builders in the traditional housing market and many don't make it because the margins are too tight for any mistakes as you'll instantly be in the red... Running an actual business has its costs in addition to the product you're making... Most startup business owners work up to 80 hour weeks but make less than minimum wage in actual income as everything just goes back into the business to keep it going and growing for the first few years before it's considered a success or failure...
Competition is also fairly fierce as there are hundreds of builders across the country and many of them will deliver homes to any of the other states and even up into Canada, which also has builders who will deliver to the states...
There's even some who have started building in Mexico to be able to undercut other builders on costs...
Btw, container homes in California typically have to meet local building codes, etc. that'll add to the costs... Here's a video series of someone building a container home and you can see what extra hurdles they made him go through...

The price is high, however they did not say if that includes the land or not. In California, that is a steal of a price. If it is for the unit itself, that is to high. I have seen 40ft homes for the same price with and actual bedroom.
There isn't much cost difference from building a 20' container home from a 40' container home... But smaller may work better for some people who may only need a backyard office, ADU, etc... Though, this is just their first unit... They're apparently going to offer both 20's and 40' models and possible scalability by combining multiple units...
