This is where we get our first view of a proper Gunny in the JAG/NCIS universe. He was a solid addition to the cast of JAG and you can tell that a lot of Gibbs in NCIS was based on this.
Gunnery Sergeant Galindez was my favorite character on "JAG". He was a strong and confident alpha male. As an enlisted man, he knew his place among the officers, but unlike many of the other enlisted personnel, he was never a wuss about it, but also never stepped out of line. He was also definitely very brave, as shown in the many times he had to get out from behind his desk, and later deployed himself to Iraq.
Interesting tidbit: In the episode "Liberty", there was a scene between Rear-Admiral Donald J. Guter and John M. Jackson (AJ) where his character offered Admiral Guter the position as JAG and Guter rebuffed him saying "You couldn't pay me enough to be the Judge Advocate General, AJ". Truth is... Admiral Guter WAS the Judge Advocate General of the United States Navy at the time this was filmed. :)
that actual happens quite often in most shows about the military Stargate SG-1 had then General Ryan of the USAF make an appearance due to the show making a boon of enlisting for the Air Force. yes i am aware that the comment is 4 years old
@@firetop-cn8vb legend has it that the USAF loved helping on SG-1 because they needed little to no air assets and gave their ground guys the love and respect they deserve.
The thing I'd like to know is while chegwidden and Bud Roberts have returned on NCIS, why is it that lately most of the JAG Special guest stars have been on NCIS LA?
I am surprised this two star Admiral Chedwidden, he did not get promoted to being a three to four star admiral. Out of all the younger officers of JAG they get promoted Lieu ant singer never got promoted again. Who else have not been promoted to a 3 to 4 star admiral is 2 star admiral Chegwidden.
From watching and reading posts from other JAG fans, Admiral Chegwidden had no chances of any future promotions after he pissed off the SECNAV after not recommending Commander Lindsey to be promoted to Captain in one episode. Admiral Chegwidden even spoke about this to Mac and Harm at a bar about this at the end of that episode. I believe Chegwidden had a chance to be recommended for promotion to 3 stars in one episode, but that would mean that he would have to abandon being the JAG. I used to enjoy JAG. I hope it may somehow return. JAG is still one of my all time favorite TV shows.
I am a little rusty and navy regs however I believe he would have had to have given up his job and move to another post. Especially since his replacement was step promoted from Col to major general
I hated most of the smart-ass Officers I met in the Army. Every freakin one of them had an "I am better & superior to you" attitude" when the majority of them were not one damn bit smarter than I was. U.S. Army, Ret. TX
Gunny was a SOLID addition to JAG in that "battlefield" referred to as "the office."

The Gunny has brass, you can't deny that, making a comment like that to an Admiral.
And a SEAL to boot......
Now THIS people is how you do a job interview! LOL

I held my own, especially against Navy SEALS.

Not many marines would make that statement to an admiral wearing a trident.

There was also a General Jumper. Can't remember how many stars Jumper had on his uniform.
I would pay money to see this.
I love watching Jag
This gunnery serg. Reminds me of a Tom Clancy character.
The uniform is your best change of the day
love this show

AJ could have got to be a 3-star, but I don't think they'd give him 4-star because he would have to vacate his position as the Navy's JAG.

if he did get a 3rd star what would he do " He's the JAG of the entire Navy just a tv show just shows pple hold grudges no matter what SECNAV
At the time, Judge Advocate General was a 2 Star billet. It didn't become a 3 Star until right after the show ended.
Anybody besides me see Gunnie (sorry if I spelled it wrong) act just like Gibbs from NCIS?
Just a heads up "Gunny"
Well actually jag came first so gibs was copying gunny lol
Gibbs also was a Marine Gunnery Sergeant
Gunney's gonna get his butt whooped. Don't screw with the admiral.
