Orange should give Dave 1% for every amp he's helped sell. I bought a CR120 and an OR15 based off your UA-cam videos.... That's like $700+$449=~$1150. $1150/100=$11.50. That's 2 pints at the bar man. Orange...sponsor this man. He's done way more for sales than any of the other "artists" you sponsor!
a beautiful 34 minute video loveletter on an amp I can relate to that adoration. My Orange CR60 has served me so well. It's been great for recording, production, and practice. someday I do hope to take it gigging
Thoroughly Deserved Dave. Mega happy for you dude. You have probably helped many others with their sounds and techniques through your no nonsense but totally easy to follow guides and you keep it all as good rumoured and fun as possible. Keep up the good work. 👍🤘👏👏👏👏👏
I LOVE the Crush Series. This video is one of the two videos that sealed the deal for me on the 35. I'm getting the 60 in a couple of months. Dave, you never disappoint!
A combo amp that requires no pedals for great clean and crunch. No tubes to worry about at the gig. Plenty loud. It doesn’t get any better. But..if you wanted to kick it up a notch.. throw a TC Electronic Spark mini booster ($50 new) in front of it. Especially the clean. OMG.
I think that selection of playing was the most versatile I have seen you play. A bit of everything. Clearly inspired by your new toy. Thanks as always.
I bought this amp a year or so ago off the back of your CR120 videos including the "how many tones" series. Such a versatile amp. I had a beautiful Fender Blues Deville, while it sounded amazing was just so big, loud and heavy to transport for the kind of gigs my band plays. I just needed a more sensible and practical amp, and this was within a nice affordable budget! Playing small/medium pubs and halls, and the odd outdoor event, this amp mic'd up is absolutely perfect for my needs. I was sorry to see the Deville go, but I don't regret it! Top work on championing these amps.
Love the respect you have for 90's rock! That Candlebox solo is lovely. Eyeing down one of these amps, which I don't need at all, but you've gotten about 100 sounds out of them!
Orange makes some great amps, and for the money, the Crush series is awesome! I love playing an amp that doesn't NEED pedals in front to make it sound good. Great vid!
Most amazing, versatile, diverse, guitar player I have heard in the last two decades. You are definitely an inspiration to me. Thanks for your amazing playing.
I've pretty much made up my mind now. I'm gonna get one of these. I can't believe that pretty much all my favourite classic guitar tones are coming out of an amp I can actually afford (well just about).
After watching this video and your other ones on CR120 I finally bought the CR60 with a cabinet. Wow, what a great sound! So, thanks to you Dave for your informative videos! You have the best quality without the junk :) Gratitude!
Geez every time you review an Orange thingy my crave for owning one goes sky-high! With this CR60 I think I just spotted the most fitting for my needs and spending possibilities. Gonna come back to electric guitar soon after too many years of shameful "vacancy". Thanks for your daily good action, you truly are a good lad.
Bought the CR 120 combo a few years back. It’s discontinued now, probably coz it’s so damn heavy😂but sounds great and never lets me down.Tube amps are great but have to be in top form if you’re gigging regularly. Thanks Dave, you made my mind up on that buy for sure!👌❤️
And I still gig mine on your recommendation, it's been a brilliant combo. Bless you and those you love, and now it really is all about the bass, if you know what I mean !!! Rodge David kidderminster uk 🇬🇧❤
I can attest. This thing is a monster. I have two CR120 heads and picked up this guy for when I need a single-hand carry and tiny stage footprint but want to keep MY tone. This thing is pure quality, and Dave did a great job of showing off what it does.
I was in the guitar center the other day and played a 1x12 Boss 100 watt katana and then played this 60 watt beast and the Orange 60 watt blew the 100 boss Katana out of the water. The clean sound of the Orange 60 watt was way more tube Like than the Katana with all of the bells and whistles and the distortion was more tube Like!
This comment helps a lot, aside from the amazing video as well! I have a crush 120 head with 212 cab and recently picked up the Katakana for a small rig. I miss the Orange sound so much! The Katana almost has too much going on. I like things simple. I’m definitely picking up this amp!!!
AWESOME - Very well deserved to you and very cool move from Orange ! Your amazing review of the Cr120 head 3 years ago really helped - made me getting the cr 60 ! Im still super-satisfied and so happy with it - need nothing else - but maybe more guitars ;-D , cant wait seeing you playing a P90 through the cr 60 ! ROCK OUT DUDE- Love your channel ! !
I fell in love with this amp earlier this year. I think it sounds very close to my favorite tube amp, a Marshall Silver Jubilee, for a fraction of the price and without the worries of tubes failing, requiring costly repairs. I love that it has a speaker in/out, too, so it could double as a head or cabinet, and an effects loop to run preamps into. Plus it looks beautiful. My Code 50 I purchased a couple years ago is decent but as I progressed I realized I didn't need all the models and didn't like scrolling through menus, and as I tried out other amps I realized it just didn't sound as good as analog. I almost sold the Code to put the money towards a CR60 this summer but enjoyed playing Orange's annual Wish Granted giveaway last year, so I figured I'd wait a few years and try to win despite the low likelihood. Somehow fortune smiled on me and I actually won it this year! I'm super excited to get it! Orange is definitely a special company. They seem like they put care into their amps at all levels and my heart is warmed by their generosity. Also, will you be doing any more "sound like [artist] with budget pedals" with Anderton's? I haven't seen any in a while and found those very informative. They should definitely bring you back for more of those!
I just bought one of these amp (in black) for 200 quid! Was about to pull the trigger on a new 35RT but spotted one of these on Reverb at an amazing price. Very happy :)
I've had this amp for a couple of years but am only now trying to really realize its potential. This is one of the best demo's I've seen, but would have been great to see a close-up of your settings. Thanks, Dave!
Great score. The CR60 is a great amp. It has the News to the World [ or some such ] speaker. Replace it with a better speaker, and you will experience how much better this amp can sound. I'm now an Orange Believer. My old Kustom died and I wanted to get a Vox AC15. Brought this home instead. Ended up swapping out the speaker and it was money well spent. A couple of months later, I discovered your channel. Many thanks.
Single coils and p90's seem to sound very good through Orange amps. I just watched The Melvins cover Deuce by Kiss in an RV, and they were using these amps. King Buzzo had a Gibson SG with P90s and it sounded awesome. And Dave, your Strat sounded particularly thick, almost humbucker-ish.
Show me the power child, it gives me the butterflies it gives me away , you do the immortal classics and the new classics just as well , versatile Dave, and the mighty Orange sounds great
I’ve been told that only great guitar players play stats. After hearing a bunch of your videos, this theory is fact. You’re a great player and you nail John’s tone and playing. Love listening to you!!!!!
Dave you're a star mate! I've had a cr60 for around three months now and I can honestly say that I like it more than any of the valve amps (which have been a fair few) that I have owned over the years. This one's a keeper! Great demo of the amp for those still in need of convincing. Cheers Dave.
I already have an Orange Micro Dark because of your enthusiasm over the brand. It's the perfect amp for what I bought it for, but I wouldn't have tried it if it wasn't for you. If I ever need another amp I will definitely consider their stuff. I'm impressed by the way they have treated you. To me that means as much as any other factor about a company.
I bought the tiny Micro Crush because of your review Dave, and I bloody love it for practice, and the fact it works of a battery is magic. I want a gigging amp now, and either the 60watt Crush or the 100 watt version, I'm saving for now. Your videos are costing me a fortune 🤣
I don't comment much on people's playing ability, but I must say. This dude is fucking good. I legit think he is twice as good as his vids, just a humble guy doing a product review. Good job man.
You may be the only reviewer I've seen looking into this amp that actually spent a good amount of time on The clean channel. Which by the way was exactly what I needed to hear. So thank you for this video it's really helped me make a decision to hunt one of these down.
Dave you deserve the amp. It’s nothing to Orange to give you the amp and they know with you promoting it with the passion you have, it will boost sales anyway. It’s nice that a manufacturer has recognised you, you make a excellent ambassador :-) look on the up side at least it’s a good company with great products. It would have been my luck to be endorsed by some really crappie company with a sub standard product lol Well done again I’m really happy for you as I’m sure many others will be too.
I love your demo dave. Where others have only played metal on this amp, you really showed how versatile it really is. Proud owner of this amp btw! Been gigging with it for a long time and it is my prefered gigging amp!
Agreed with your take on the EQ, Dave. I've had to add bass, subtract high end/mids, and add a little gain to replicate what I get out of the CR 120s. Still a killer tone. These will be treasured one day.
I still dig my Cr120h. I found, as long as you don't get too powerful (i.e. 30db or more), a clean boost will really kick it in the shorts. Tried an ehx crayon, but sounded off. Ended up with a 4 knob TC spark boost, and it goes from clean boost, to mid boost like a tubescreamer but hotter and not as nasally , to a fat boost. Really brings more from the dirt side for extra versatility, and adds sparkle and fatness to the cleans. Combined with an underdrive, I can run as though this were a one channel amp. Also, an EHX clone theory sounds awesome INTO the dirt.
Cheers for playin Rumble by Link Wray!!! \m/ great amp. You sold me on one. I'd like to go ahead and recommend to people the Rocker 15. I love it to death
Amazing video man, I've got one on the way. One thing the UK and US shares is making killer amps. I'll give some credit to Japan for Roland and the Katana. Excellent playing, it's the enthusiasm that makes it great!
U-N-B-E-L-I-E-V-A-B-L-E!!! Thank you man, thank you! BTW: Could you please do a lesson on the Slane Castle Intro? I totally go of on this whenever i hear only a few notes - pure emotions.
Dave, if you can get a hold of a colorsound power booster you should put that in the front end of the CR60. I just got a clone, and man it sings. Sustain for days. I didnt know if it would work, because its not a tube amp, and supposedly the power booster demands a loud tube amp. But it worked really well. Another good pedal for the amp is the OCD. It sounds pretty awesome with humbuckers.
Look at it logically 300 plus comments 18000 views if you say one in 250 buy the amp that’s 72 amps sold and I think that’s a conservative estimate to say the least. I bought one on the strength of this demo so I’m thinking in marketing terms any company that can sell 72 products for the price of one is doing ok not to mention Dave’s done demos on the full range so how many amp has he really sold. The mind boggles and well done again Dave.
I tried one of these when I was in the market for a new amp a couple of years ago. It slayed every amp except the Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue that I eventually bought (obviously a very different amp), and even then, It was close. The Orange was easily better than all the solid state amps I tried (Peavey Bandit etc.) and some valve amps. I do now have an old Marshall 75 Reverb, which I bought having seen one of Dave's videos. That's an awesome amp, but I suspect it would come 2nd against the CR60.
It's a major difference much more focused even with the open back. It doesn't crap out with the high gain like the voice of the world did. I have the mkii rockerverb 50 head for reference and plugged the cr60 in the ppc212 cab and you can mostly feel the difference tonally they are very similar
Congratulations Dave
I bet you have upped orange cr sales over the last few years well deserved
Thank you very much indeed. : )
I can second that. I'm about to purchase one of these thanks to Dave.
Orange should give Dave 1% for every amp he's helped sell. I bought a CR120 and an OR15 based off your UA-cam videos.... That's like $700+$449=~$1150. $1150/100=$11.50. That's 2 pints at the bar man. Dave style + castles made of sand + orange bluesy amp tone + strat = ❤️
Thank you. : )
Love it that you played rhcp and Tool on this amp. That's the music I would play on it. So I got perfect sound examples. Thank's a lot
What was that first RHCP song

Tool Candlebox and Soundgarden, it will be a glorious day indeed.

it still works well with pedals? or there's a limit number of pedals to use with? Thank you
@@miloblandon Yes works well with pedals. I have about 7 that I'm using with mine. But it's hard to beat gain/reverb that the amp has.
I had a long sesh in one of these at GC Friday - I am a huge tube amp snob and the CR60 was IMHO killer.
I was shocked frankly.....

I'm new to amps.
I'm surprised by your first settings, with bass + treble down round 1 or 2.
I didn't think that was a viable option.
Thank you, Sir!
I just got one today! Loving it so far!
How's she holding up for you?
Still have it?!
Had to watch yet again. Just bought one myself today Dave. Love your playing! D#
Agreed with your take on the EQ, Dave. I've had to add bass, subtract high end/mids, and add a little gain to replicate what I get out of the CR 120s. Still a killer tone. These will be treasured one day.
Wow wow wow Perfect in Every way this wonderfull amp Thnx 4 your video's Dave
Thank you very much and thanks for watching. : )

Thanks for your ideas I just bought that amp, needed help with the EQ settings thanks
Dave, I really appreciate you sharing all of your info and knowledge and awesome playing in your videos. Bravo. 👏
Thank you very much. : )
got mine this week, amazing amp!!! sounds really great!!!

Thank you very much indeed for watching. :)
My amp! Amazing review and playing Dave! :)
Thank you very much indeed. : )
I just dropped a vintage 30 in my cr60c and holy crap it's a rockerverb mini now
I thought about that was it a big difference? Or just slight
It's a major difference much more focused even with the open back. It doesn't crap out with the high gain like the voice of the world did. I have the mkii rockerverb 50 head for reference and plugged the cr60 in the ppc212 cab and you can mostly feel the difference tonally they are very similar
Hey there Dave, incredible sounds, thanks for this! Any chance you could take a photo of the amp settings?
I just bought this amp it's pretty awesome
Great review Dave, sounds awesome great play mate
Thank you very much indeed. : )
i didint think i could like your playing anymore and then you crack out some TOOL, well done sir, ill buy you a beer one day
Thank you very much indeed. : )
I want! Knowing the super crush is out now! But 599 for a sub for rockerverb this amp rocks
Kim Thayil is definitely an underrated guitarist, he writes some of the heaviest riffs, up there with Tom Morello IMO. Slaves and Bulldozers is sick.
I totally agree. : )
Thank you orange !!! it was a great review !
Thank you very much. : )
I had the 35rt and the sound was way inferior. Sold it yesterday, thinking to get the 60c or the peavey bandit 112 transtube.
I don't know what impresses me more: the amplifier or the guitarist? ;-) Thanx, Dave!
