This is a very important topic that as Muslims we need to understand. The Prophet (SAW) and his companions (RA) understood the society they lived in. Indeed the Quran addresses many aspects of that society from the worshipping of idols to the cheating to the burying alive of female baby. Living in modern times and post modern times we need to have a deep and clear understanding of these concepts and what they mean. This is for two reasons 1) So that as Muslims we follow Islam and Islam alone and do not mix non-Islamic concepts with Islamic ones and 2) so that we can convey the dawah. May Allah (SWT) bless this ummah with knowledge and understanding. May He (SWT) return us to the our natural state as One Ummah under the shade of the Khalifah. Ameen
This podcast might be one of the best things I've heard in while.. I watch all our intellectuals. And this ustadh's ideas and clarity with which he articulates them is so so good. Thank you so much for this podcast One Path Network team. May Allah increase you in wisdom and knowledge with which he is pleased.
Second this. I have actually given up on listening to many intellectuals as they at some point divert from the true understanding of the salaf and dive into kalam and spirituality or certain views and statements which I do not agree with. This podcast however remained on track.
@@julinaonYT I recommend to first and foremost listen to or read books of classical scholars and contemporary scholars who follow the aqeedah and manhaj of the salaf. Once you have a basic frame of reference like discussed in this podcast then you may listen to intellectuals.

I am truly grateful for this podcast. May Allah bless all who work on it. One small criticism, the brother on the left( in the black shirt) often cuts off the speaker and inserts his own opinions perhaps too much. Please forgive me if this is offensive, but I have noticed this in a few podcasts now. The brother in the white shirt does a great job not cutting in or inserting himself or his opinions, rather just helps guide the conversation the way a good journalist/ interviewer does. I pray this constructive criticism can help. Jazakillah khair for this amazing content, making duah for you all. May Allah accept from you all. And please forgive me if it was an offensive criticism. You also forget to mention about the ultra tribal and conservatism of salafist ideologies that have been propagated through the world since the 80s where new minor questions are risen and the idea that “everything is haram till proven halal” had taken place. The tolerance has diminished and hateful judgment has become the norm
By the way many (famous) Muslim gives Peterson more than his size and put him in a scientific position he does not deserve, just because he happened to agree with some innate postulates
They put him on a pedestal because our own muslim figures are too scared to oppose lgbt and feminism lol, which is a shame. But this is what happens when you put fame above akhirah. I fully agree with you that he didn’t deserve all that attention and praise though
I don't know why those Islamic videos from the west always lack arabic subtitles! It creates a big cut or gap of information between the Muslims in the Arab world and the Muslims in the west which is very big despite the open digital information platform .
@@fawziapersonal ah thank you! I checked the available subtitles first but could only find English and auto English translation. Now I know that you can change the auto translation to Arabic! It's better than nothing but not the same as professional translation.
I’m not sure if what you said about individualism, freedom, and liberalism is warranted. Especially when those same values empower people to choose their own path, and opinions in life. Which is not just good for a moral stance, but also great for societal progress, economic growth, and overall satisfaction in life. Keep in mind I’m not a Muslim or a woke person, but I’m willing to hear different perspectives.
Makes perfect sense as a muslim. Read the Quran with an open mind brother. You'll find the Truth. God is the only Being who knows what's best for us. It's the arrogance of the post modern man that makes him reject God and think he can understand morality, right and wrong etc on his own. He's led astray by his desires and Satan. Freedom, individualism, liberalism sound great! But have hedonism, arrogance, selfishness and self centredness as their base. Without the guidance of our Creator in determining the way of life which is the best of us, we sink into depravity, self worship ie worshipping our desires and many moral vices resulting in the breakup of family and fulfilling our lusts which wreaks havoc on the weaker members of the society like children. The root of evil at the base is just sheer arrogance. That I don't need the One who created me to guide me. PRIDE is what made Satan fall from grace and he promised God he'll corrupt the sons of Adam so they follow him to hell.
Also all the woke stuff and feminism are post-modernism creations not modernism (which ended in the XX century ) . Movements that challenge logic and reason such as feminism runs all the post modernism definitions and are indeed part of that . If anything we should return to a more "modern" society that degenerated too much into what we have now . I believe religion wouldn't be the solution since modernism fought religion and post-modernism doesn't even acknowledge it and bringing back religion would just set us back to centuries
00:00:50 Defining Post Modernism 00:07:15 Defining the Spirit and Self in Islam 00:14:00 The implications of individualism 00:18:45 Navigating the Political sphere as a Muslim 00:25:15 The rise of woke culture 00:30:00 Disconnecting from the natural world 00:38:35 Muslims must become healers and therapists 00:47:50 Using the arts in our Dawah 00:50:21 Engagement vs seculsion in the modern world 00:56:49 Conclusion
This is great But it still feels lacking You went from definining post modernism to Islam too fast You should've focused more on why Islam is true over Post Modernism and given 10-20 min of examples at the minimum before touching the nafs
Why don't you add Arabic subtitles to your content? That is if you want to reach all Muslims, Arabic is after all the language of Islam and the language of a a large part of the Muslim world.
If the self is incapable of understanding, from whence does wisdom spring and more importantly how is it iterated upon? I was following you until there. You kind of just assert these things axiomatically and leave them be.
Unfortunatelly you have discused in à général way difficult way to comprehend by général public. Furthermore the muslim society from russia to USa and from norway to south africa is so diverse and has many political social and economic backgrounds.
@@Tskyn if not général public what is the use? Many muslims that need to change are ignorant both on éducation and in their béliefs. So they need some guidance to change

🌹39. Establish prayer (salat/namaz), pay alms-tax, and bow down with those who bow down (Q2:43)
🌹🕋40. Know that this worldly life is no more than play, amusement, luxury, mutual boasting, and competition for wealth and children. (Q57:20)🕋📖
✍Explanation:
💚Please note these are not the complete ayats, but I took keywords from each ayat. If you want to read the full ayat, check the references.
💬For example, take a look at the first statement:
🌹Dont insult (Q49:11), when you google Quran 49:11, then you will see the complete surah’s English translation and you will see the following:
☝🕋📖O believers! Do not let some ˹men˺ ridicule others, they may be better than them, nor let ˹some˺ women ridicule other women, they may be better than them. Do not defame one another, nor call each other by offensive nicknames. How evil it is to act rebelliously after having faith! And whoever does not repent, it is they who are the ˹true˺ wrongdoers.☝🕋
📖ALWAYS REMEMBER
✍Allah is the most merciful and forgiving, no matter how much you have been sinning, run towards Allah, turn to Allah and repent, and ask for forgiveness. Some references from the Quran:
📖Quran 39:53📖
Say, ˹O Prophet, that Allah says,˺ “O My servants who have exceeded the limits against their souls! Do not lose hope in Allah’s mercy, for Allah certainly forgives all sins. He is indeed the All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
🕋Quran 25:70🕋
As for those who repent, believe, and do good deeds, they are the ones whose evil deeds Allah will change into good deeds. For Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Such a great conversation.. mashaallah
We Muslims are in need of a desperate reality check …I pray to Allah we all wake up 🙏
Simply beautiful
Jazakkalah khairan team. Very enlightening video ❤️🫂
Masha’Allah
BarakAllahu feekum
Yeah point to be noticed
Excellent discussion! And much needed in these times 👏🏼
This was really interesting, May Allah reward your hardwork 😊, Ameen
MashaAllah. Great Podcast 😃💪
Amazing,unique conversation, mashallah ✨
Thank you for the conversation👍
Thank you for this video!
I've been watching this channel for many many years this is the 1st time that I watch something that you guys post and I absolutely didn't understand anything from the guest
You didn't find anything to understand through his speech for almost an hour there must of have been something said clearly.
That's quite peculiar...
Well documented! 👌🏼❤️🩹
Thawban reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said,
*_“Soon the nations will be summoned to you just like one is invited to a feast.”_*
It was said, *_“Will we be few in that day?”_*
The Prophet said, *_“No, rather, you will be many in that day, but you will be scum like such flowing down a torrent. Allah will remove your esteem from the chests of your enemies and Allah will insert feebleness in your hearts.”_*
It was said, *_“O Messenger of Allah, what is this feebleness?”_*
The Prophet said, *_“Love for the worldly life and hatred of death.”_*

We want more conversations with him 😭
Good work
You also forget to mention about the ultra tribal and conservatism of salafist ideologies that have been propagated through the world since the 80s where new minor questions are risen and the idea that “everything is haram till proven halal” had taken place. The tolerance has diminished and hateful judgment has become the norm
Don't worry, Dr. Samir is by no means sympathetic to pseudo-Salafism
How can I get this lecture on podcast??
Allohu akbar
Subhaanallaah
Loved this video
كَتَبَ ٱللَّهُ لَأَغْلِبَنَّ أَنَا۠ وَرُسُلِىٓ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَوِىٌّ عَزِيزٌۭ ٢١
Quran (58:21)
By the way many (famous) Muslim gives Peterson more than his size and put him in a scientific position he does not deserve, just because he happened to agree with some innate postulates
They put him on a pedestal because our own muslim figures are too scared to oppose lgbt and feminism lol, which is a shame. But this is what happens when you put fame above akhirah. I fully agree with you that he didn’t deserve all that attention and praise though
ما شاء الله
Good video
Jazakum Allahu Khairan for this amazing and intellectual podcast. Does anyone know if Dr. Samir has any social media accounts to follow?
Could you please add Arabic translation
I don't know why those Islamic videos from the west always lack arabic subtitles! It creates a big cut or gap of information between the Muslims in the Arab world and the Muslims in the west which is very big despite the open digital information platform .
@@try2justbe i made a mistake, click on subtitles and you will find auto translate to Arabic.
Thanks
@@fawziapersonal ah thank you! I checked the available subtitles first but could only find English and auto English translation. Now I know that you can change the auto translation to Arabic! It's better than nothing but not the same as professional translation.
Beneficial Allahuma Barik
Why one path network videos have less views even though their content are really good
Please update this podcast on Apple Podcast. jzk
GUYS PLZ DO ANOTHER SERIES OF PROPHETS LIKE MUSA AS ETC
❤❤❤❤
Please add english subtitles please

Any Tahfidz program in Australia ???
I would love to join it
How many times we open Alquran today, compare we open youtube or games??. Not suprise.
This is great
But it still feels lacking
You went from definining post modernism to Islam too fast
You should've focused more on why Islam is true over Post Modernism and given 10-20 min of examples at the minimum before touching the nafs
✌😇🧘♂️
🌙🌙😊.
If steven seagal accepted islam
not so important question but who knows when was this podcast recorded i think it is about winter?
Why you asking?
@@insignificantmortal8983 just was interested in thumbnail
It's winter in Australia now
Why don't you add Arabic subtitles to your content? That is if you want to reach all Muslims, Arabic is after all the language of Islam and the language of a a large part of the Muslim world.
♦️We at Qur'an Calm make English AUDIO Qur'an with REAL HUMAN VOICE! 💯
If the self is incapable of understanding, from whence does wisdom spring and more importantly how is it iterated upon? I was following you until there. You kind of just assert these things axiomatically and leave them be.
Oh individualism and freedom the horror
Nafs and ruh the two different things
B
Unfortunatelly you have discused in à général way difficult way to comprehend by général public.
Furthermore the muslim society from russia to USa and from norway to south africa is so diverse and has many political social and economic backgrounds.
Not for general public
@@Tskyn if not général public what is the use? Many muslims that need to change are ignorant both on éducation and in their béliefs. So they need some guidance to change
I respected Jordan Peterson, but not really anymore. Also many of his teachings were cultural.

Why are Muslims so hung up on Jordan petersons
Salam Alaikum brother, your video on which girl does not comply with Islam, since it is a sin, we would not put our own sister on not complying with the requirements of Islam, even the prophet said Indeed, (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Do not believe for sure until you love for your brother what you love for yourself, put a watermark and so that there are no traces, put a watermark so that the awrah cannot be seen through viewing the watermark
She herself kinda promotes this fitna publicly who should be aware who to follow
