- It started off okay (though the turntable seemed to get slower by the day).
The globe was used for closedowns - but David Miles gave the robins a mention at close on Christmas Day. By Boxing Day the preceding trailer dropped into the ident - Already the heads were now just nodding and not moving from side to side plus, the backlighting stayed light blue and the top robin had just about resigned. 17 junctions here - including the clunky one to Noel Edmonds).
Great clips there. I had never realised they'd pulled the ident early. Prez must have been really fed up with it. Maybe they should have settled for just one moving robin and had the top one perhaps static. Hey ho, fun to look back and thanks for the wonderful clips. That Peter Brook/Noel Edmonds crossover didn't quite work as you say but a nice touch.
Oh heck, that dug some incredibly dim formative memories up. Wonderful, thank you :D
Interestingly transitional between the computer generated elements and that charmingly dodgy model of the robins. I love the graphics for "'86" also. Just at the moment in the 80s where a looser, more "handmade" element began to return to mainstream graphic design. This would ultimately persist until the 90s.

The top robin’s wings must be tired.
By day 3 they could only nod. Must’ve got bad necks
Even the Robin murderer features in this clip.
@@spig021 Noel Edmonds?
@@Alola_Hanna-Barbera_TMS_Fan haha yes Edmonds shot them with a blunderbuss.
@@spig021 they never repeated the idea.
