Miss Universe Laos Honored in Brooklyn Park

Miss Universe Laos Payengxa Lor visited Brooklyn Park this week with a mission of inspiring young girls of Hmong descent. The Hmong community is the largest Asian population in Brooklyn Park. “I will keep going, keep working hard and inspire young girl, every young generation,” said Lor. The Brooklyn Park City Council declared June 30 “Payengxa Lor Day.” Lor, who is from Laos, became the first woman of Hmong descent to ever compete in a Miss Universe pageant. She finished in the top 16.
