i don't get it, people are complaining about this that it doesn't look good, sure it's not a 3 series or anything but for a people carrier it's fine, i know that if i ever need a big family car i would prefer this one over some french plastic box, at least this thing is still somewhat fun to drive
Love this video. This BMW is very well presented. Beautiful Car. Hopefully they make a 7 seater without the kid trays. Otherwise its perfect for outings with family and friends. Thanks for posting.
Missed opportunity for BMW- could have captured a large chunk of the family market easily here. They should have gone with three individual seats with 3 isofix anchors on the 2nd row and maybe a pair of isofix in the third row. These are the things that matter to families. The seat mechanism is clumsy and where is the pop up rear screen that you get on the touring cars??? They wont as competitive as they could be in this segment. Going with the VW touran myself
For seven seats, the Galaxy, the Sharan, the Alhambra all give bags of space at decent prices. Because SUVs are now the new kids on the block, two year old versions of all of the above are something of a bargain.
And 3 buttons my love "5:18" you wouldnt have to struggle so much if instead you went to the back and use the buttons on the side to fold middle row seats
This is for all the haters of this car because you don't believe BMW should stoop so low as to go down this route. I bought one today Iv'e bought a 2017 petrol version 2 Series 2.0 220i Sport Gran Tourer, Why? well we have a child care business and we also have a caravan. Firstly we need a car like the SUV/MPV's. All the bad press diesels are receiving is starting to stir manufacturers into making more petrol versions of once diesel only offerings. Take the BMW X3, KIA Sportage 's and Land Rover / Range Rover Evoque and Disco, They are going to start making petrol versions going forward in response to the increasing demand for petrol due to the increase in car tax on new diesels and the fact that they are starting to depreciate more rapidly as a result. So where once you could be limited to Ford , Vauxhall, Renault etc for this kind of vehicle now you can have a car that's got real class and pedigree and prestige although you can say that's based on opinion but I believe quality rubs off on all the ranges if you have a quality manufacturer like BMW.. Having owned 3 beamers over the years I am very glad I can now go for this marque with the vehicle that meets my needs as well as alas leaving diesel against my will. I think diesels are brilliant but not if we are NOT going to get value for our money in the long term.
@post2memrg I’m considering the Gran Tourer 2016 for the same reasons you mentioned. Considering your post has 6 years, are you happy with your decision? Any critical issue after 70-100K miles? Thank you!
Run Flat Tyres will be very expensive for second hand buyers to replace as there is no space saver Spare. Shame about the M-Sport Version being a harsh ride.. better to go for the more comfortable 220D without the M-Sport and smaller more economical wheels
When I see Ginny so cousy in drivers seat, yeah I want it. As I have three kids, I dont know if that middle seat would go unnoticed. Problem is if you want to put small kid in third row (they want it and they can only fit it) and they have an issue, its like breaking into bunker.
DoubleD 613 the interior and exterior design, the quality of the materials, the ride and handling (especially), the auto gear box, the fuel economy, the sound insulation, the adjustability of driving position, the clarity of the interface, the overall feeling of quality on everything you interact with.
Ioanides001 Yeah, but certainly not on this bag of shit. They're getting as bad as Mercedes, sticking their badge onto anything they can, regardless of whether it lives up to traditional brand values.
cockshield i don't like it either but it still retains a part of the brand values. Not the handling tho... and look at Porsche, they're selling more SUVs now than sport cars...
The bane of having a tall family. The only cars that can fit five 6 foot plus adults are mpv's. Anyone know how comfortable this car is for three six foot plus adults in the middle row.
I bought it before one month mo car year 2017, a beautiful car in almost everything except suspension the very bad, so I replaced the runflat tires to normal tires car became more comfortable quality is excellent. There is an excellent difference for the better. In addition, the automatic stop is not updated. When stopping, you need to step on a brake or an auto break, unlike my previous, older car. Once you stop, the auto break works Automatically and as soon as you press fuel pedal , it opens automatically
Firemarioflower yes, there's also ford mpvs, they are quite common here in belgium too, but besides those it's mostly french ones, besides, japanese mpvs are also boring plastic boxes
Good size leg room? You must be joking!!! Honestly the car has leg room equal or less than that of a VW Golf. Absolutely useless if space is your No. 1 priority.
Christos Apostolopoulos rubbish. If you push the middle row back, and think of it as a normal 4 seater, there is oceans of leg room in the middle row. Rather like the VW Touran in concept whereby you sacrifice any worthwhile boot space if you use all 3 rows of seats. However with just 2 rows of seats in use the boot is very spacious. BMW have done well to shoehorn 7 seats into a relatively small car. Much more practical for shopping car parks than a huge car. And much more upmarket than the Touran in so many ways. Many cars are a compromise, and this is no exception, but the concept is well executed, except for the raised floor with middle seat. Digby
+Bloq Marketing I guess. Doesn't make sense as their marketing was: "Even numbers are the more desirable BMW's; Coupes, Gran Coupes, Convertibles"... They should be called 1 Series, but 2 Series sounds more fancy I guess...
Everything locks BIG beside her. I want to have Nikolai Sergejewitsch Walujew as an Car Tester. Only he can say, if it`s fit into a car when you are big. The Tiny Lady locks like the only Passenger in a big Train, even when she sits in an VW Polo.... Please....
If you are a growing family... get a Ford Focus, or a VW Touaran (if you must have 7 seats) and spend the money you saved by not buying the stupid 2 Series minivan on a 4k curved 3d tv, or on a vacation somewhere warm... Seriously... Who wants to spend 40000 Euros on a 2 Series?! For that sort of money you can buy a Ford Galaxy. Also just take a look at some of the options the 2 Grand Tourer has... Lots of sporty nonsense like DDC suspension, or lowered M-suspension. Sport automatic... on a minivan?! Don't get me wrong, that stuff is great on a 3-series, or any other non MPV BMW, but here it feels like the 2 Grand Tourer is trying to be a sporty BMW. It can't! When you are in the market for minivans, you can forget about sportiness.
This mpv is copy past from the carens, but for people with lots of €€€ to spend. BMW shold copy the Vw Sharan insted. And mantain the RWD!!! I have 3 children and is impossible to mount 3 proper seats for them...
Ultimate driving machine - I think not. Just get an M4 and get the kids to walk or better still give them some money so they can buy some drugs and go AWOL while you enjoy yourself driving! 😀
Only premium 7 seat on the market? Typical BMW bullshit. Ever heard of the Seat Alhambra or Sharan? Pointless vehicle, by an arrogant company, thinking they can just invade a market.
BaoSik 3 years ago I would agree with you. Then I bought a BMW, now I have 3 and I will never buy anything else. I could go on and on why BMW makes the best cars in the world but I doubt youd be interested.
Lets face it. We're here for the back seat row review, aren't we, men of culture?
Guilty🤗!!
it's true :)
True that🙈🙈
LOL
Tbh x5 was a better option 😂
i don't get it, people are complaining about this that it doesn't look good, sure it's not a 3 series or anything but for a people carrier it's fine, i know that if i ever need a big family car i would prefer this one over some french plastic box, at least this thing is still somewhat fun to drive
smashedpotato99 its trash but its better than french pos carriers. It surely isnt fun to drive. I would rather get a q7
Orang q7 cost twice as much
@@Roberto-cc5nz q7 is very expensive to maintain, this 2series is probably the same
@@Roberto-cc5nz same
@@MrRohanThomas na u can buy it for like 18 grand conpared to Q7
Pull the handle in the rear seats, one of them slides forward and then tilts down a bit, and, the best looking MPV in the Market.
Yes 😂
Love this video. This BMW is very well presented. Beautiful Car. Hopefully they make a 7 seater without the kid trays. Otherwise its perfect for outings with family and friends. Thanks for posting.
The kids trays can be removed in seconds

Wow, Ginny is absolutely gorgeous!!
For seven seats, the Galaxy, the Sharan, the Alhambra all give bags of space at decent prices. Because SUVs are now the new kids on the block, two year old versions of all of the above are something of a bargain.
LOL say this again in 2022 :) decent prices I mean
I like the paint color.
And 3 buttons my love "5:18" you wouldnt have to struggle so much if instead you went to the back and use the buttons on the side to fold middle row seats
Why is this in the 2-series range?
That is an M-Sport variant, that'll make it at least a couple thousand quid more expensive than standard

It doesn't look too over the top just right the perfect car for someone like me that is a bit on the boring side.
Great review, keep up the good work.
Let's just be honest and call it a minivan.
Nah not quite
Run Flat Tyres will be very expensive for second hand buyers to replace as there is no space saver Spare. Shame about the M-Sport Version being a harsh ride.. better to go for the more comfortable 220D without the M-Sport and smaller more economical wheels
Yes thats the one i would be interested in
When are you going to make video with new Skoda Superb?
True, Mat Watson already did it in Carwow, and a spanish youtuber called Juan Francisco Calero make it in Carwow Spain

How this drive compared to Ford Grand Cmax?
How much is this car please?
We have one and love this amazing BMW!😍
Same
The only premium MVP? What about Mercedes-Benz R Class?
What is premium about bmw other than the price?

2015 BMW X6 PLEASE!!!!
What family needs 3 baby seats and 2 additional seats in the booth? A mormon family?
Can it come with xdrive
Yes
The bane of having a tall family. The only cars that can fit five 6 foot plus adults are mpv's. Anyone know how comfortable this car is for three six foot plus adults in the middle row.
All of you 9 year old haters stop hating on this car on your mums phone . U can't drive I am 24.
Glad to see she looks much smarter than usual.

the 1,3,5,7 series, i series and X5 are the only Beamers to buy. maybe 6 series at a push aswell
Awayze nope. 3,5,7,x5,x4
Actually, it's not so bad... once you're inside that is.
anyone realised a hand at 5:21 😂
Looks very similar to the Mercedes R-Class?
This or the Sharan/ Alhambra ?!
this looks like the old C-max to me, not sold on looks
Just don't try BMW, leave the MPVs for Citroen to do because they are the best at it 😂😂
I love BMW Grand Tourer💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
"ugly is included at no extra cost" !!!
Brian Cooley quote there?
+TheMusicFan1297 yeap! well spotted
Attractive???
might be to 50+ years old.
Harbir Brar more attractive than some dull plastic french box, which is your usual people carrier
smashedpotato99 I thought you were talking about Ginny. I think she's hot. I'm 31 btw ☺
Mercedes W205 haha :p
Firemarioflower

The finger in 5:19 hahaha :')
Good eye, crikey.
I think it's brilliant
Another day, another BMW aimed for niche market. At least it makes sense rather than that hideous X6
Just get an X5, it looks better, it probably drives better, and it makes more sense.
Ramdomcom Films Yes please
It's a 235i not 218d hence the rear bumper and exhaust exits
BMW and MPV - see the mistake?

I'm sorry, but for a bit more I have a 7 pax AWD Discovery Sport
my god , small car is higher then she is , imagine her beside Cadillac , it would look like a boat

Where is the female carbuyer reviewer who used to be there about a year ago ?!
Gran Tourer s beautiful car and like SUV 💓
dis was made on my b day
A BMW 3 series works for most families with 2 children, Why would you buy a huge and ugly car like that for one family vacation a year?
Is not worth the badge it carries, it's just another violation to everything BMW once stood for.
No buttel test?
***** Nope no buttel test, Not even a Bottle test either. Shame about that.. :(
You could slap a hyundai badge on this and no one would ever know
So a wannabe B-Class?
The Active tourer defiantly is, but the gran tourer is much bigger, it's a people carrier like the VW and Nissan equivalent.
BokiSmokiToki The smaller one yes and this more of a wannabe R-Class
dont forget that mercedes benz lately make a wannabe X6 by their GLE coupe-styled suv
noporian The R Class is a complete fail. You don't see any of them anywhere LOL
ZAMIN!
depends. I see them over here as much as any other mercedes really. (Except the old a class those are much much more common for some reason)
Genny was a bit out of breath there
Hey lady, how old are you?
I LOVE BMW GRAN TOURER. IT S VERY CONFORTABLE AND HİGH, WİDE
Take the new touran instead and save a lot of money.
No equipment compared to Japanese Korean which come with 360 camera tons of electronics electric heated steering seat Kia Hyundai Toyota honda
Why is this a 2 series?
+Bloq Marketing I guess. Doesn't make sense as their marketing was: "Even numbers are the more desirable BMW's; Coupes, Gran Coupes, Convertibles"... They should be called 1 Series, but 2 Series sounds more fancy I guess...

Looks great, but not that good to drive. IT'S A FREAKING FWD!!
FF bimmer is NOT a bimmer!
Whats the point of this car anyway. Nobody want a small 7 seater. Its not comfortable enough. I'd rather go with a big japanese 7 seater instead.
Speak for yourself mate
Ultimate driving machine - I think not. Just get an M4 and get the kids to walk or better still give them some money so they can buy some drugs and go AWOL while you enjoy yourself driving! 😀
1seipai yeah just get a car that's 3 times more expensive, good logic there
This car is cramped! Not big inside at all.
That giant squid car is a 7-seat
no reverse camera 😂😂😂
Looks like Ford galaxy
I have that car in white!!!😃😂
How is it going with you so far with the car, is it reasonable with gasoline?
The cactus video is such a rubish....
It’s a beemer. I’d buy anything else over that.
It just looks really uninspired.
LOL
An M badge on a FWD MPV.
Good one, BMW!
O please, the video about the C4 is just lame. It's embarrassing to watch.
Only premium 7 seat on the market? Typical BMW bullshit. Ever heard of the Seat Alhambra or Sharan?
Pointless vehicle, by an arrogant company, thinking they can just invade a market.
*cough cough* MERCEDES R-CLASS *cough*
What about the X6?
Bmw Alhambra
Its not a 7 seater, its an overpriced BMW 2 series (citroen C4 picasso with BMW body) with some seats in the boot you can pop up !
Christ I thought it was my old 2005 ford cmax
Kia is better
BMW - No thanks.
Ok then gtfo
boring review
i like the front, after that it's just shit
the citroen cactus is the worst looking car, total ugly.
Boringgggg.
Revolting
overpriced and unreliable, typical bmw
