Easy to follow of the overall set up. I will look into getting that saddle bag set up for the top tube. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching. Subscribe if you havent
This is beautiful! This is an inspiration. I'd love a double crankset but... you do you! Go have fun and stay safe!
Hey thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video. I could see a 2 by drivetrain being nice. I think 1 x 12 if pretty common among bikepackers though!
Subscribe if you haven't!
I've never seen the top tube saddle bag thing before - looks really interesting. Most people use a couple circular feed bins in that area. The spot for your camp chair is excellent too! Looks like an excellent setup. Your garage is super clean and organised too!
Thanks for the compliments!
The saddlebag im working on making available for purchase here this year hopefully! They are really handy being small waterproof bags for snacks, and small items. They could possibly still work with water bottle bag right above them, i need to test that.
Very cool rear rack design just subbed
Thanks for subscribing! I'm glad you liked it. Ill be making the dxf file available for purchase here soon on our upcoming website for those who want to try it out
@@GoodwinBiking COOL
It's pretty cool dude, for being your first bikepacking trip, I think it's good enough, you'll grow as you go experiencing new adventures, long hauls, etc, you will need more or less stuff! JUST GO FOR IT!😊👍🚴
Thanks, that's such a nice comment! I want to go on another 1 or 2 day trip here in the next few week! Ill definitely do a video on my travels!
Rear rack is brilliant, nice work. Also like the downtube light, good use of available space. I wouldn't keep a bottle down there, get funky with a quickness, Nalgene is pretty heavy for bikepacking too. I like two, 1-liter smartwaters in cages on the forks with Topeak versa mounts or USB's, then a full frame bag, and I keep one more smartwater in a feed bag. Try Voile straps for the camp chair. What chair is that btw? Perfect size. I also prefer a drybag backpack for the rear bag to use for potential dayhikes. I keep my powerbank in the top tube bag so I can plug it in to my phone or nav if necessary. Dig that little saddle bag like everyone else. Good job, I'll sub, keep them coming.
Oh, and instead of a pillow, I bring a puffer jacket in a small stuff sack. I also like to bring trekking poles, multi-functional, especially if you carry a trekking pole tent or tarp, they're also good bike stands.
Very helpful - keep up the great work!
I'm glad it was! Thanks for watching!
I'm also 100% for a 2 person tent for solo camping. Love the extra space & its a minimal weight penalty.
Having that extra space can be really nice!
Hi, could you please share some details about your rear rack. It looks super neat and I would like to give it a try. Thanks
Yes sure thing 👍 ill make a video on it soon
Very cool rig! Super innovative! Would you mind sharing the dxf file for the rack? That's just such a good idea.
Thanks for watching! I'll be posting a video here soon of how i did it
Great great load out! Slim and no panniers hanging off the back. Seems like you balanced the weight really well. What's the camo bag on the back rack there?
Hey thanks! Yeah i think the weight distribution worked out well. The rear bag is a Goodwin bag we will be selling on our upcoming website. It should be live soon! Selling waterproof bikepacking bags
Hey Goodwin, I get it now.....Goodwin bag!
Just spent an hour and a half searching " Goodwin Bag"...... How soon will this Web Site be up?
@danielfischer1811 hey yeah! The website should be up in the next few weeks. Products are not quite available yet though. Ill be sure to give updates on the channel when products are in the production phase
The rear rack is an interesting option. Any idea how much it weighs?
Yeah its pretty convenient. I'll be making a video on it here in the next week or two
I'm currently setting up my Fathom 1 (Size L) for bikepacking. Can you please tell me the brand, style and size of your framebag?
Blackburn Outpost Elite Frame Bike Bag a.co/d/35kSCju
Medium Short is only 80$ right now, that's the one i have. It allows for room for your water bottle behind the frame bag!
Also, with your large frame, i think this medium short will fit great!
I've been looking for a solution to having a bike with a dropper post and no rear eyelets for rack mounts and the Thule attachment is genius. Did the rods come with the bracket or did you manufacture those as well? Also, what frame pack is that?
I'll probably be making a video here soon about the rear rack. The thule ridealong child seat comes with the seat, bracket, and quick-release mount. I removed the bracket from the seat and designed my own rack to fit it. If you are interested, im going to be putting up the dxf file for sale here soon
How heavy is the rear rack kit?
Do you want the weight of just the rack and bracket? Or with the bag and gear as well?
Love the saddle bag idea. Is that a DIY bag?
Which bag are you referring to, the rear bag?
The one by Osah you referred to. I asked my question then finished the video
Dude, awesome setup! That rear rack is a really cool idea. Love how you can release it so quickly. Keep the videos coming!
@@GoodwinBiking do you have a link you could share?
@@LivinEpic I'll see if i can find it
Curious how long your headlight lasts? Can you recharge it a little with your solar battery bank?
It lasts about 2 hours in the brighter setting. I can charge it for another hour or so, but ill have to test it more
What do you use for a light?
@@GoodwinBiking that seems pretty good for how big it is. I've got an older lumina that does the job. I don't do too much night riding though.
Hi, what is the rear bag? I’d like to get one
Im in the process of starting a shop, ill be posting on the channel as soon as its a available!
@@GoodwinBiking you mean you are designing these bags?
@@samuraioodon yes, working with a factory to manufacture these bags
@@GoodwinBiking awesome. Looking forward to reviews on those
@samuraioodon ill definitely post on the channel when i have samples. Future testing will definitely be needed but im excited about the products i have tested so far. A lot of tweaks are happening
