    I'm just going to point out the fact if the car has no oil, you will have no oil pressure. And light will turn on.
    Second. If no oil like I seen in you video. No oil and you will hear knocking. You added oil and the light turned off not because the liquid molly. Again my opinion. From my experience.

    the oilpickup is probably full of gunk, the real solution would be to take the sump off and clean it, its a known issue when the catalytic converter is placed right below the sump so the heat from the cat heats the oil up in the sump gunking it up making the pickup clogg up overtime

    Fun fact, that cup holder is a really rare option over in Europe, i watched a few go for £200 on ebay once... also this car needs to run 5w30 fully synthetic only as it has a design flaw in the PVC system that needs to be upgraded with a kit that costs about $70, if you dont do both of these things the oil will sludge and turbo go boom...

    There is a known problem with these Saab motors- the oil strainer tends to be blocked by coal particles from cracked oil. It is recommended to open the oil sump to clean and check the strainer to be clean. Especially when you used an engine cleaner before, it may happen that stuff which formerly was stuck in the motor, now blocks your oil strainer. If you want this motor to last, I highly recommend to check that. Also ignore the Saab recommend oil changing routine- do it at least every 10k KM. With good care, these engines are known to last 300, sometimes 400+ thousand kilometers. And, nice car, good bargain for the price and I like your video!

The European specialists that do the heavier work on my S4 swear by it and sell the majority of the product line, so my car gets thse products regularly with great results. Aero was a engine tune,not a body kit.biggest problem is the breather pipes that breakdown and allow small chunks of ' rubber' to get in the oil,then block the oil strainer and ultimately starve the top end and turbo of oil.

    I used this stuff about 2 years ago to quiet a noisy lifter on my Mercedes. The M272 motors are notorious for lifter tick and this stuff cleaned whatever crap was inside that lifter and quieted it down. I changed the oil/filter immediately after and it seems to be gone.

    On most european cars the oil can is a multi purpose light. Can mean both low oil and oil pressure. The fact that the car was low on oil suggests that was the cause. Also 5w-30 is too thin for a high milage 4 cyl turbo, change to 5w-40, otherwise youll be burning oil quicker tan you can refill.

    Saab's take 4 1/2 quarts of oil, cars with over 100,000 miles you should use 10/40 full synthetic and the next oil change drop the pan and clean the oil pickup screen this will prevent sledge buildup. GM used a finer screen on cars after 94 hence the problems with engines blowing up. All cars benefit from proper looking after and yes Liqui Moly does work.

  • @marknelson5929
    @marknelson5929 4 роки тому

    If you say the oil is low! You pulled out the dipstick to check right? So why not just put in some engine oil to top it up!? Even when you put the stuff in you have to wait a few minutes before checking the level! Engine flush also is not good for older engines as it can dislodge all sorts of carbon deposits etc in the engine which can then move it around the engine potentially blocking oil ways etc. never use it. Your best bet was to simply change the oil and filter (without using the flush), take it for a good run and get it nice and hot, then drain and replace not forgetting the oil filter. Remember the engine flush will thin what oil is in the engine, so you'll now have to change it.

    Interesting video.... Hard to know for sure with your spotty knowledge of what oil to use, how much you should use, the fact it was low on oil for so long.... But still pretty good outcome for a liquid mechanic. BTW, I feel for your neighbors not being able to use the side walk since you have cars parked right over the sidewalk. Where I live that is a by-law infraction and it's always enforced when the mommy's out walking or running with the strollers can't get by, never mind the seniors with the scooter/walkers/wheelchairs. But hey you have nice cars though, they can't be parked on the street they are too nice.....
