This is not the whole swash plate works. Collective pitch will be lifting whole swash plate assembly up and down...and that is missing completely here. Your need to lift whole swash plate up, to have right amount of pitch for blades, to have lift. This configuration helicopter never can have any lift, swash plate just add lift in one blade and reduce other one same amount. This just show how you can steer that chopper, but not how you can actually lift it on a ground...
Hello Jplot.. nice video.. but unfortunately.. the demonstration cant explain.. the vertical movement (up and down) should effect the angle of attact.. and the swashplate movement should effect to 360 teetering rotation...maybe its need improvement
This probably doesn't respond to your "Would like to see how..." question. I can say the collective pitches both/all blades up and down at the same time generating lift. The cyclic angles the drive shaft forward or back or sideways to steer the craft. :D
I had many questions about swashplates before watching this video. It cleared all of them up. Great video, thanks!
Excelent video. Thanks. Now I can see the tremendous torsion and torque forces on the mast. Great video indeed.
Thank you.Very interesting.
thanks man....I have been searching for this answer.....10Q alot

brilliant, really helpful, well done and thanks
Finally after years of trying hard I unlocked the mystery of swash plate. But still I'm not sure.
amazin, thanks for sare us you video
That's sweet..that's awesome.Thank you
Thanks for this video.
Wow amazing!!
Excellent thanx

Nice. is this the same system that is used on the Lynx? looks kindoff simmilar. :P thanks for posting!
10!

love this
Would like to see how collective control works in cunjonction to cyclic

I'm interested in building a very simple fixed coaxial design like the AviationExplorer built. Do you have any comments on that design?
+Tom Wilson i looked up that website and couldn't find anything about a coaxial helicopter there, would you be kind enough to give me a link?
then what happens in collective pitch control. swash plate goes up and down.....help in someone,,,have exam in 2 days
or buy a 450 RC helicopter and see how it works, collective and cyclic. Pretty cool stuff. and it works
how to make the blades of a wooden helicopter
Hey bro do u have any Ida about cyclic and collective how it working i tried to watch deferment videos but i don't really understand it yet.
you have no cyclic
