    First, Heather, Yummy. Next would like to have seen how the, I believe he said cylic plate or swash plate actually was manipulated at the rotor head. Sorry you went a bit too fast there, thats something I've always been interested in.

    • @nelsoncheng4638

      Peter Szarow. Yummy? Are you married to her? Everyone needs to repent of their sins and put faith in Jesus Christ alone to save them from Hell and from the power and presence of sin.
      The Bible says,
      27 "You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.' 28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. (Matthew 5:27-30)
      4 Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge. (Hebrews 13:4)
      16For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
      18 "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.
      (John 3:16-20)

    Nice piece of machinery!! Noticing the locking hardware and all the nice machining. The main rotor head and tail rotor linkages are nice pieces of engineering. Helicopters are such amazing "contraptions", which is the appeal. I get the impression from earlier postings that you might be involved in the company that makes these kits; if so, thanx for making this activity available to more people who can't afford the full-blown machines.

    Just thought of something. When hovering an RC helicopter with the nose pointing at you left becomes right and forward becomes backward on the cyclic input and takes a bit of getting used to. So it would be like you sat in the seat applying left cyclic and the helicopter rolling to the right.

    Explain the "controls are offset 90 degrees" thing a bit more. I don't recall that from poking spinning gyroscopes. When I poked them they'd just start some kind of weird precession... but then I was poking them at the top.

      +CHOPPERGIRL AIRWAR Gyroscopic procession : when force is applied to a rotating body, the reaction from that force occurs 25% later in the rotation

    • @choppergirl
      @choppergirl 6 років тому

      Errr.... when a force is applied to anything, I think a reaction from that force should occur immediately, unless you are getting into einstein territory...
      ....and being sure to look at things on a molecular level, no macro level, which could hide a reaction because of the elasticity of the object. For example, kicking a soccer ball, the soccer ball will not immediately move in total because of inertia, but it certainly is deforming and reacting at the point of impact and the reaction is traveling through the air inside and across the surface of the soccer ball...

    RPM means revolutions per minute, It's how fast the blades turning, or this case how fast the engine is turning. You always want to keep your RPM's in the green, remember more power to the engine more left pedal input for lift. It's basically the same as your car engine ( when checking your timing their checking your RPM's. Hope this was helpful?

    Are there actually High Quality Kits available for Making a Helicopter of this obvious Quality, as there are for other Experimental Airplanes? What an Awesome Ride!!
    I used to watch a TV Show when I was little, I called “WHIRLYBIRDS”. It came out in 1957, and ran for 3 Seasons. I used to draw that Helicopter all the time.... and I wanted to become a Helicopter Pilot when I was little, but never did. How to assamble helicopter engine

  • @coriscotupi
    @coriscotupi 10 років тому

    billt460 - Go look up "dissymetry of lift", it is helicopters 101 stuff. In a nutshell, helicopter rotors are built to deal with this automatically, there is no action required from the pilot to specifically address this (except keep airspeed within limits). Advancing blade flaps up, retreating blade flaps down, effectively changing their angles of attack (thus lift) balancing out the lift on both sides when the helicopter moves at any nonzero speed.

    It would make a great toy for kids named Rockefeller, Gates, Buffett, etc. Not so practical for the masses. You may be on to something though, a remote instructor who could over-ride while a student learns. My earlier comment about a plane anyone could fly presumed the pilot would be inside the plane and fly it safely without instructions. It's possible to build a plane like that.

    technicaly speaking the blades do not take a "bite" of air . what is happening is the blades as they change pitch
    there is low pressure on top of the blades. And high underneath the blades thus giving the helicopter lift.

    • @wowforreeel
      @wowforreeel 8 років тому

      +FASTPISTOLDRAW - layman's terms

    • @bronwindraney5111
      @bronwindraney5111 8 років тому

      +FASTPISTOLDRAW
      I'd disagree. As in a fixed wing airplane, the rotors are just like wings. It tales a measure of angle of attack, the rotor or wing actually DOES scoop or bite the air. This is HOW the low pressure above and high pressure below is created.
      Pitch is the degree to which the angle of attack is applied to get more or less lift.
      In fundamental terms you can reduce a great deal of aeronautical jargon into the fact the a wing or rotor, scoops the air and pushes it down while Newton's law takes effect and lifts the machine.

    I too fly RC helis and I often wonder when someone will come out with servo drives to run the collective and Cyclic, so as to be able to operate the heli from 2 sticks similar to a radio.. It just seems it would be so simple to fly compared to the skills needed to fly them as they are set up now. Having said that, maybe a real heli pilot who has never flown RC would say the RC setup seems very complicated?
