EnVogue was not a standard girl group, because throughout their run at one point each member lead on all of their top 10 hits, so them being standard is definitely not true.
I was born in 90 but I'd rather had been your age in the club in those days. Things got crazier. I can't stay away from 90s music and a lot of older music because it always felt good. I'm a dancer also. Before all this crazy angry music dancing even felt way better dancing to the music from back in the day!
Small waist, thick calves and thighs, and a round booty…SZA. Cardi B, or Summer Walkerwill NEVER compare-no matter how many BBLs and lip fillers they get..TERRI IS THE OG SLIM-THICK BADDIE. And her body was God-given…she was serving body!

It was the way they’d be killing the heavy dance choreography while singing impeccably with their mics ON! Fashion icons too. Nobody else like them before or since.
So...EnVogue was the brainchild of Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy. The four ladies - Cindy Herron who leads this, Terry Ellis who leads the opening, Dawn Robinson, and Maxine Jones - all auditioned and won slots. Initially all four ladies would try leads on stuff as Tommy and Denny learned their voices and they would pick the version they liked best. By the second album, they wrote to each voice and knew who would sing which song best You should check out their audition song, Waiting On You, which was ultimate lead by Dawn (who leads or coleads all their best and biggest songs except this one). It was originally on Tommy and Denny's album, but was added to EnVogue's debut as a CD bonus. Dawn straight MURDERS it.
Their song Giving Him Something He Can Feel is the exact old school 60s girl group vibe you mentioned. You should check it out! I think you’d enjoy it. (And by the time this song came out, they were wearing Jordan’s, Adidas & hip hop street wear to the clubs. I was only 13 but this song was in heavy rotation on the radio stations.)
This was the best female group of all time in my opinion. Name another group where all members were lead singers. Each of them were beautiful and all of them carried their weight with the vocals. It’s a shame the music business prevented us from getting more out of the original four members.
Yes we had great dance moves back then. That's just male models pretty much "voguing" at the beginning of the video. Which was kind of a dance/form of expression (hard to explain. Lol) that was popular among some people in the early 90s. But trust me in the club most people were dancing to this song not voguing. Lol
I remember my older brother, uncles, and cousins used to stay watching this video on BET… sitting up debating over Terri VS Dawn having the best body and face😂
So many good ones from them. They brought it in "Don't Let Go" too, there you can see each of them lead. ua-cam.com/video/mwhwGmoYv1s/v-deo.htmlsi=odZvmjiaJI07an5K Here's a few good lives from them: ua-cam.com/video/I8J2LGPUplU/v-deo.htmlsi=twuVOBhdpOo4uItp ua-cam.com/video/WdjJ1452y5Q/v-deo.htmlsi=v45mr0JFFWcwwt2O ua-cam.com/video/yxKvFEluwUI/v-deo.htmlsi=DhOiasoIPZzzdMN6 (poor video quality) Don't Go ua-cam.com/video/xSq-MbvO7Zk/v-deo.htmlsi=38gL8Xa3sHobaY1Q Apollo ua-cam.com/video/GGw7id4Qdzs/v-deo.htmlsi=lQ41AZeMkoc472PM Arsenio You Don’t Have To Worry ua-cam.com/video/46Msdlfm7fI/v-deo.htmlsi=54Z1KyhxpiSqjl1V
This boy got GA Bulldogs on the wall. Michael Jordan. Wearing a Celtic jersey and a dang Austin FC ball cap. I'm confused. 😂 But seriously, I enjoyed the video! En Vogue were a one-in-a-billion SPECIAL talent!
This was their first single and INTRO to the world. They came through like a tsunami, and just got better and better musically, fashion icons, and performances were inspiring everything in their path. Unfortunately, their producers, managers, and labels got greedy and paid them $10K each album + 2cents an album, while they were selling more and more millions of albums. This created unnecessary division in the group, and the original four ended. SOOOOO SAD!!
No female group was ever better than En Vogue. (And as far as looking as if they could have been in the 60s, no. Those dresses would never have appeared back then.)
En Vogue was so good that any of them could be the lead singer you can't say that about many groups and vocal-wise they were unmatched
En Vogue was a group of 4 sopranos thats where the vocals come from.Terry, Dawn, Cindy and Maxine all sopranos 1990 and Cindy was in the movie Juice.
This came out in 1990. This group was like the standard for girl groups!
EnVogue was not a standard girl group, because throughout their run at one point each member lead on all of their top 10 hits, so them being standard is definitely not true.
1990, the summer I turned 21 and this was THE song in the clubs!

Those dances were from the U.K I believe.
Maxine, Cindy, Dawn, and Terri
❤❤❤❤
Always and forever: En Vogue
Natural beauty and talent. ❤❤❤❤
The bald man with the trumpet is
Djimoun Hounsou from the movies Blood Diamonds and Amistad.
He was in everyone's music video back then
This was their first hit. I played this song to death. lol
We all did. I watched the video on Juke Box non stop!😂😂

You have to react to “Don’t Go” by them. Terry goes OFF!!!!! 🙌🏾
I concur
She was always my fav 💯✌🏾
@@hotcumodity7777 only the real ones know! 🫡
Lol! 😅😅😅😅We didn't do those dances that their back up dancers were doing. They were doing their OWN unique thing.
En Vogue is a way better girl group than any other 90s r&b girl group from that era
Any group period they the blue print for destiny child
@@jasondawson92this!
Cindy is the girl in the fringe dress, doing the Roger Rabbit and singing Lead.
With En Vogue they all CAN and DO sing lead. They are all🔥 vocalists. Don't worry I can't do The Roger Rabbit myself 😆.

We were blessed to grow up with this music. I was in Junior High school when this came out.
That dance back in the day was called the Roger Rabbit 🤣🤣🤣
This group was just so amazing!
Fun fact, they had to do their own hair and make up and those are their dresses because the budget was nothing lol

Terri is the girl in the spotlight, that sang Lead on the intro.
The Jackson 5 did this song first back in the seventies. Look it up. 🙆🏽♀️👏🏽👏🏽

That dance is the Roger Rabbit. 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂 That growl you did at 8:44 got me dying. You kinda sounded like her lol

You ever see the movie Juice? The lead in this song Cindy plays Qs girlfriend
I hollered laughing 😂 so hard when u stood up and tried to do the Roger Rabbit😅
lol it’s the hardest dance ever
The Dance I think there hitting is The Vogue.
This was a put together group by Foster McElroy. They all were selected by auditioning.
We styled and profiled during this time.
Haha I enjoyed this so much lol. I hope you do more En Vogue vids. Blessings 😊
WHAT?? Radioactive Coke???😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂
The dance moves aren’t cohesive? Wtaf
Ignorance on full display.

When I first heard this I couldn’t believe me ears
Each one was a lead singer on different songs.. And that's the Roger rabbit. Beginner 90s dance move.

Everybody’s momma had those black fringe dresses and pumps back in the day.😂
Also Terri had a roll in the movie Juice as Quincy (Omar Epps) girlfriend
I’ve never seen juice

Ok I got up and did the Roger Rabbit for old times sake and damn near twisted my knee.

You should react to En Vogue Riddle!! Straight fire in my opinion!. ❤
Check out "Yesterday" by EnVogue". It's a black and white video with that old school vibe you mentioned in the beginning.

What, We could dance and more. 1990 was not that far away
Those are stage dancers, nothing like the dances we had back then.
This was their first single and INTRO to the world.
