I am Amanda from Hong Kong. I make easy and practical cantonese learning videos for complete beginners to intermediate level.
My full time job is a flight attendant. I enjoy studying foreign languages. My job allows me to visit many places and meet many people. So that I have more chances to practice what I have learned.
Due to the covid, I haven't fly regularly for over a year. I find UA-cam is extremely helpful for maintaining my language proficiency. One day, out of curiosity, I looked for cantonese learning channels. I was so surprised that there are so little and most of the good one are even from overseas. That's why I started "5 minute cantonese" on 2020.

How about 好味, my wife tends to say this rather than 好食... I guess this is a personal preference, but I haven't heard it mentioned in any videos so far... By the way we pronounce superlative su-perl-a-tive and comparative as com-para-tive 😊 great lesson though .. many thanks!

I have a question! Can we use 比 to compare two objects the same way as in Mandarin?
A比B好 or is there a more Cantonese specific way of saying it?
In this case, it’s ok to say A比B好，but it's more common to say A好過B in Cantonese. I'll make a lesson about comparisons later. Stay tuned😊

Miss Amanda tiu4 is a measure word for clothes except accessories or for dress only like gown?
Tiu4 is only for bottom wear like dress and pants,
