- You can camp in the Cleveland Metroparks at the Ottawa Overlook Backcountry Sites. This is a primitive campground in the Brecksville Reservation with 3 reservable spots. There's a quarter mile hike through the woods from the Ottawa Point picnic shelter to get to the sites. It's directly on the Buckeye Trail, so it's perfect for through-hikers as well. It is currently one of only two camping options inside Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
In this video we'll tour the sites and take a quick look at a Backpacking Basics overnight trip that the Cleveland Metroparks Outdoor Recreation staff put on.
More information on using these backcountry sites in the Metroparks can be found here: www.clevelandm...
I'm thrilled that camping is now an option in the Cleveland Metroparks and I hope you get to take advantage of it soon. - John
Nice video. The campsites are not within CVNP though. They are within the metro parks.
Nice!
Just booked site 2.
You may want to check your facts. That is the Cleveland Metroparks, not the CVNP. Clearly two different things. And you are not allowed to camp anywhere in the CVNP.
