These were just well made reels. I have a couple original Daiwa Saltiga Stardrag reels and I still haven't found a better alternative. Different price point from this one but the construction at the time was great.
Thanks for posting. Did my eyes deceive me at (7:54), or the bridge plate screws are different length? With long ones on top. Per schematics, the older version has different length and newer version reels have the same length.
I just rebuilt my 2 following this video and had a beer about it cuz I forgot which screw came from which hole lol... watched this vid back 4 or 5 times and sussed it out
I love my 250H. Its a great land based light game reel. I use a glass fast taper 10 foot rod and its loaded with 30lb test mono. Perfect for belting baits and heavy lures out 100yrds.
I haven't seen one of those in a while, but I will add it to my request list and do one if/when I get one in the shop for service. Thanks for asking - Dennis
I love your videos Dennis! I think the sealine 50h is the most underrated reel too. Do you happen to have any opinions or experience with the Sealine SMF250 mag force? Is it the same reel as this with a different side plate? Thinking of pulling the trigger…
Thanks Jake. I just got one of these mag force reels in for service. I will be doing a video on it in the next few days. If you can hold on. I will give you my opinion when I work on it. Thanks Dennis
Decided to buy what looks to be a decent condition sealine smf250. Couldn’t pass it for $20 bucks. Will be on standby for your video on the smaller mag force. Also…do you happen to have any video or insight on changing the 50h/300/smf style drags to a 5+1 stack? Wanting to use this reel for one way sliders to get big baits out 120+ yards.
The pinion gear is likely to be frozen on the spool shaft. You need to remove all of the screws and parts from the gear side plate and push everything out before you can attempt to remove the gear from the shaft
I almost bought one of these when I was younger. The Daiwa Sealine reels were popular then. I got an Ambassador instead. Very informative video!
Thanks Chris
Hi Dennis,
A great reel ! Mine is serviced and ready to go. And yes it seemed there were different size bridge plate screws ?
All the Best,
Cons
Yes - the crews on this reel were different length - long up top, short on the bottom

Yes they are. Both the Sealine and Saltigas are built to last
Thanks for the note - Dennis
Thank you for the tutorial I have the sl50h and I Realy don’t know how to rebuild it
Yo can also watch this one. It is on the SL20H, but is very similar to your 50H in service ua-cam.com/video/i1m9PAZA85k/v-deo.html
Looking forward to using it
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and expertise.
Jason
You bet! They are on their way - Dennis

Your video help a lot

Glad it helped. Thanks for the note and for watching - Dennis
Nice vid. Was wondering if you could do one on the sealine x50 sha. I couldn’t find a video on that reel. Thanks

The spool on my reel will not separate from the side plate what could be holding ?
