The best thing about this video is that you showed the prices.
Because the price can really ruin or make the experience.
Although in today's Lisbon it seem like you pay 15~20 per person whether the food is worth it or not. Excluding the instagramable restaurants like jncquoi, Guilty, Belcanto, etc..
Glad you liked the video (and prices hehe). Dining out has definitely gotten pricier, but it's still possible to find reasonably priced restaurants.

I do recommend to experience true traditional Portuguese, those little places that are not tourist driven, usually in small villages ❤
Another delectable video-but this one’s especially tasty! And it’s making us miss the Portuguese cooking prowess so much right now 🤤 We totally agree that reviews on Google Maps, Trip Advisor, etc should include different categories like the ones you mentioned, since so much of the restaurant experience is multifaceted and worth noting. The feel, food, friendliness, cost, and comfort are all taken into account when we rate a place; we also like to include “bathroom” in our ranking system, since it’s not just the cleanliness of the bathrooms that’s noteworthy; some places have spectacular restrooms that somehow strangely add to the whole dining experience. Stay classy, as they say 🤭

@@joenandamalie Yesterday we tried The Bonne Crêpe with very good result, definitely worth the trip and our next target is Páteo Bagatela, which we very much look forward to. Thanks for all the useful (and tasty) information.
trip advisor works ok outside of the main cities in Portugal, I've found some decent restaurants on it but the real gems are not on those lists.
It's a hit and miss. We generally use Google Maps where anything above 4.5 is generally a good experience.
@@joenandamalie yes, definitely, maps is much better and practical since I end up rating them on the app, I guess a lot of more people do as well leading to more accurate ratings.

You guys should try a new brunch that just opened in Chiado It’s called Breakfast Lovers The food is so amazing and the waitresses super nice Also the space is super cozy and pretty They have Benedicts inspired in portuguese food like shrimp and octupus (this one is to die for) And their pancakes are the flufiest ones I’ve ever had

Been an resident here in Portugal since 2016...Between Google Reviews and Trip Advisor...I'll choose the top 5 in any city or town...Most of the time they are spot on...Also connecting with a local is the way to go...They will tell you where the real gems are...Just got back from Bilbao, Spain and was washing some laundry and a local there told me where to find some great places at affordable prices...and they where spot on! In todays environment of 5 star reviews not everyone fits that bill, but those that do are consistent with their products and I return to those places often! Bom fim de Semana from Beautiful Sunny Estoril! 🇺🇲❤️🇵🇹✌️🤘😉🤠
Was 3 weeks ago in Lisbon but found the food in overal very good but we asked locals (taxi drivers) about what restaurants to visit. Reviews can be... as you found out :)

My company is number one in our area for boat tours, we work very well and we totally deserve every review. But in restaurants it can be very subjective and fake. Btw I have a Danish boss, maybe that's why we're on top :)

Il Mercato has 2 sister restaurants that are also very delicious. They are Come Prima( variety of Italian dishes) and forno d oro ( mouthwatering brick oven pizza). You need reservations for both.

Personally i never trust reviews since usually they give oppinions based on personal preference and not based on the restaurant or food (example , i know some1 who rated a restaurante with a 1 star because they didnt had the wine he wanted)

having iived lisbon a few years ive yet to find an indian restaurant that is even passable. Too much oil. I've tried about 10 places, Asked all the locals. maybe someone's keeping it secret

Hey! The term brunch was invented in the USA way, way, way, way, way before the early 2000s. It probably roots back to American-Jewish communities who got together for Sunday feasts in the 1960s and 70s in east coast cities like New York and Philadelphia.
