This was soo straight to the point and easy to understand.
I got into your video by reading "Digital marketing" study book, in Connection with Porter (2001) Strategy and Internet. I agree with the levels in IT and it is worth to consider the level of the emloyes, their income, how do they affect other people´s incomes, what is their purpose with it and count on full brain and holistic framework. If one IT is not able to write on a professional level, or understand that affects people´s life standards, then what is your puropse with that IT job. "This page can not be reached " is due to the skills you dont have. The brain you lack and the education that you cant process it .

the it strategy is not necessarily as dependent on the business strategy as described.
it depends on the specific business type and the alignment perspective of IT and business.
It is totally possible and valid in some cases, to orientate the business strategy and the business processees infrastructure after the IT strategy.
If you consider the example of the history how google was founded, that first there was the problem of webpages being difficult to navigate back and backtrack etc.... And upon that an IT strategy of a search engine came along. -> And only after that they formulated the business strategy and the according business infrastructure.
That's different, your confusing I.T strategy to product and product-market fit. Google came along as a product to solve an issue, that's not the same as an I.T strategy and even if you did choose to describe it like then you could easily say that well the founders of Google had a business strategy to become the organizers of the internet and THEN the IT strategy played out to develop the actual tool

But in practice it probably is like you described.
@@Blacksoul444 Yeah usually there is a disconnect between the theory and the practical execution I agree, and to both our points business strategy and IT strategy is always expanding, I just know that in environments where I work for IT to mean anything it usually has to be a driver of business goals otherwise it's just seen as a cost and not an investment..side note: extremely impressive guitar cover btw

Interesting idea -- do you have any data at all that suggests that lack of strategy is the cause of the software crisis? That's rhetorical of course. As far as I can see, you're just another IT consultant who thinks they have answers, but really has no proof that they are actually the answers we need. You may be right, the business strategy may be (often is) incoherent, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is causing the problems the industry faces. Identifying a problem and focusing on it as the cause of the crisis has been shown to be part of the problem, not part of the solution. There is no silver bullet. You and your half-baked ideas are part of the problem. Like the problem itself, the solution is complex and multi-faceted and fixing it will take a lot more than a coherent, well-communicated strategy.
