Robin has known Ricky for so long now that he knows full well that if he paused for as much as a few milliseconds, that Ricky will butt in. He’s at the point now where he starts a new sentence before he has finished the previous one. Thus to ensure there’s as few pauses as possible.
so true bro as soon as he starts talkin bout science and gets all overbearing its unlikeable but other than that, its great man especially when robin's there
Film it, yes. But Fuck views. D'you really think Gervais needs or gives AF about views, on here, for this. Decent guests, make decent content and if they can shut him the fuck up a bit, all the better. & No. That doesn't mean Karl fucking Pilkington or Stephen Merchant.
Agree with Robin, OFitG is unbelievably well written and moving, as well as being comedically amazing! They deal with so many issues especially death and the elderly.
Ricky has told that boring bit to every interviewer how his after life character was going to commit suicide but realised he needed to feed the dog. Clearly an absurd situation. Otherwise the scene wouldn't work. Yet when Robin tells the story of his friend not committing suicide because its the weekend, then Ricky jumps in and says that's not absurd! How can he say that when the whole reason his afterlife scene works is because how absurd it is to abandon suicide because of a hungry dog
I love Ricky coz he understands the extremes of "both sides" as he puts it, yet Robin always tries to spin it so the right are the bad guys regardless of what the left do or say.
If moths had eyes, would they be happier? How do they know they're not dead? Cavemen hunting for food But not before they style the hair on their head What would last longer in dinosaur times? A blind man didn't stand a chance Not with all them rocks about I'd rather be a blind moth
akaNOCTURN you’re just jealous of the literary genius that comes from the mind and spouts from the simplistic orifice of Karl Pilkington, it’s every man’s dream to paint musical consciousness within the realms of the new ages, but this modern day Shakespeare alas cannot be recreated, so we must cherish and spread his prophetic ways throughout this struggling and confined time
I was expecting some comedy, hate to be a critic but Ricky has turned into a preacher know it all who keeps interrupting his guests to say I, me, way too often, comedy please.
I know this may not be the the best medium to reach you through with, however I reject twitter and beeing still in the EU and unsure who long you will be I fear of writing a letter would just get lost. So yea I have to stick to Youtoube for the moment. I binged through "after life" - I say binged and I mean it I have nothing else to do at the moment as my depression put me in the "fortunate" place to not realy be able to work at the moment. I laughted, cried and got angry during th show. You are ea blessing (excuse the religious termonolgy but I lack a proper word for it). I struggled through the "oh its a super power i just kill myself off if necessary" phase of my depression and still have my problems to let go of that idea - because it's just to true. I tried it once but luckly the army spent enough money to keep me alive during a live threatening injury so yea I'm still here anying people. I find your depiction of a depression (out of loss) very relatable, it's like your whole life wa just pulled away and you are just existing in a hollow vessel. It was your show and the depiction of your friend Tom as Matt who realy got me thinking about my friends and how much of energy they put into the relationship towards me. I never understood(was able to percive) how used loads of energy to get me and to get me to derail from my track going down destruction. Even with friends of me 3 years ago travelign though the half of Germany just to tell me I matter to them and they want me to live closer and find a job which I can persue with passion, I was unable to realy comprahend what they took onto themself to help me. And still altough my mind can comprehend what they did, I still have my problems realy grasping what that means. It was your show - although it was quite a fast forward one - which made me enrole into a voluntary group of peers who support each other, and I'm gratefull for that. Again I know this may not be the best medium to reach you personaly, yet I feel I have to say tank you in some form to you. And there is nothing much I can think of apart from a deep and honest THANK YOU. loads of love from Germany, loads of love from a fellow atheist, and loads of love from one human to another.
I'm amazed that nobody has been offended by how callously Ricky's character helps a junkie to commit suicide in After Life. We know that most suicides are inspired by temporary mental states and the most people who fail their suicide attempts are eventually happy they did so.
It's weird how Ricky seems to take any comment on comedy or the human condition as a criticism of his own work. I like him generally but he really has a high opinion of his own worth.
Namph it was the same in the Xfm days but people love to re listen. His format is to find something that works and do it again and again. That’s not new.
Cheers for another awesome show ricky ,just wondering chance of having larry david come on sometime? afterlife is the best show ever definitely recommend watching it
Burt Reynolds and Dom DeLuise in the movie The End. We're Burt Reynolds takes a bunch of pills and trying to drink it with milk that's gone sour and spits it back up. Why is cleaning up the mess he says it looks like Disneyland threw up. That's a great suicide joke.

Aaaaaah Ricky! Stop interrupting!!
do you even know ricky, he has the self control of a ten year old :)
When they talk about things other than religion, the science of comedy or Gervais latest project - it's great.
so true bro as soon as he starts talkin bout science and gets all overbearing its unlikeable but other than that, its great man especially when robin's there
I'd take science over the constant twitter bollocks
This show should be called “Ricky Gervais talks about Twitter, again.”
About how anybody that complains on twitter about being offended is wrong because Ricky says they're wrong
I encourage you to Film these podcasts. Ud get 10 times more viewers....

It's about the target. And every word in the joke is carefully picked. And Ricky has BUILT IN the irony... WE KNOW!
Same guests over and over. Same chat over and over. Robin Ince is as interesting as a skid mark in a toilet.
how many times has Rick told that ‘coming-out-of-bathroom-pissed’ little story? i think he’s even repeated it with the same guests
Hi I'm Ricky, lets talk about how offensive jokes can be, twitter, religion, because I havent spoken about these topics yet
Hi I'm a fucking idiot from Gervais' comments, who always asks for Karl Pilkington and/or Stephen Merchant.
The return of 'The Ince'
Here just before KP fan boys fill this comment section with the same old quotes and demands to bring back Steve and Karl.
preach
So true
Nothing wrong with that, rather than annoyed and legit complaints
there is a reason for that..ricky just gets very self aggrandising and talks continually about death..nice
Bring back Steve and Karl
"I haven't seen afterlife" Robin Ince 😂
Hamish Coupe he's a lucky man
Hamish Coupe . Nob
Ricky thinks he's invented the genre of drama/ dark comedy around death. Go watch six feet under mate, shits all over after life
Is this a repeat?
I'm not sure if I've listened to this before
Pls film these x
Unfortunately adding visuals will not remotely make these bore-fests in the slightest bit more funny/interesting.
