I attended Elevation for about a year with my two teenagers because all of their friends from school were going to church there. This was back in the early days - around 2009/2010. There was always an uneasiness in my heart when we went to church there. The auditorium was always dark when we would enter and the band would be playing loudly. One Sunday, the band played the Beatles song, "Helter Skelter" and I was aghast. I sat there stunned for a few minutes, almost not believing what I was hearing. That was all I needed to know. We left immediately and never went back. Incidentally, that afternoon I sent an email to Elevation church, thinking that maybe they were too young to know that those words were written in blood inside the LaBianca home. Of course, I never heard back.
I attended New Spring in Anderson, SC around the same time. Of course, Furtick was a paid guest speaker at New Spring quite a lot, so I had to sit there while he pranced around the stage yelling. Not to be outdone, Perry Noble at New Spring had the band play 'Highway to Hell' on Easter Sunday. He tried to justify it, but I wasn't buying it. I had a TERRIBLE uneasiness in my heart as well, but the rest of my family didn't seem as bothered and I wanted to preserve a family day with church and dinner. As time went on, we stopped going, praise God. I know God will save anyone who accepts Jesus as their Savior, but I also believe He leads us out of 'churches' such as Elevation with rock star mega rich pastors.

I totally agree. I was asked to go to Elevation, and I had to decline. There are a lot of people in Charlotte, NC who think he's great. Elevation plays to people's emotions, not sound doctrine.

They leave there feeling amazing, reminded of how wonderful they are and they come back every Sunday because they’re dependent on this man instead of God & His word to fill the. To take no personal responsibility and to be told they are special, set apart. And ultimately it a glorify thy self and the “pastor” as he also glorifies himself and never God. I used to get mad now I feel bad. There is a higher standard placard upon teachers and leaders and I fear for his and all these word of faith practitioners. I pray that the Lord God has mercy on their souls and opens their eyes.
Preachers we have these days are purely motivational speakers.. They don't challenge us to dig deeper into God's word. We listen to them to feel good when going through challenges in life.

I stopped going there a year ago. I finally really listen to the words that came out of his mouth, it would start from the Bible but the sermon didn't end that way.
I watched one sermon where he talked about his wife for almost 15 whole minutes. A shame, he has a ton of charisma and could be a very good preacher. But he deviates too much and makes up his own gospel

Justin Peters does a great job of highlighting these false teachers. What is really concerning is when you see how large the churches and congregations are. That is many people being taught false doctrine.
You know why those false doctrines are so popular? Because they all appeal to man's fleshly nature in some form or another, and ofttimes without preaching on sin or a real need of a Savior. If they do mention the need of a Savior, it's usually in the context of "living a better life now". I.E. they effectively degrade Jesus to a mere piggy bank. That should never be happening.

Justin seems rather hypocritical he recites scripture that plainly states there is only "One" God and that He does not share His divinity with any other then turns around and says but yes God shares His divinity with two other co-equal beings in the Godhead. It can't be both either God is "one" who possess the attributes of all three "titles" or there is three separate and distinct persons in the Godhead. Last I checked scripture says there is no other god beside Him, that He is "One".

That same Word took on flesh and came as a light into the world and in the Word was life and the life was the light of the world. So if Justin says there is One God and three distinct persons then he's right and he is NOT a hypocrite. There is One God in essence and three distinct persons, co-equal and co-eternal: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit. Last I checked only God can forgive sins since He was the One against whom WE, being in ADAM OUR FEDERAL HEAD sinned against and yet Christ during His earthly ministry forgave sins Matthew 9:4-6. Who does HE think HE is to even forgive sin? Said the Pharisees and Scribes about Jesus IN THEIR MIND as JESUS READ THEIR MIND AND ANSWERED THEM. Last I checked, only GOD read minds (Psalm 139 1-4). And he said, I never want to take anything away from the message. I want people focused on the Word, not myself. I love this message. It’s been very eye opening and there are so many false prophets out there disguised as a wolf in sheep’s clothing. What’s scary is how many young Christians won’t even question what he’s saying.
He looks like people of the world, who seek the spotlight, seek to get noticed. It is fine to be work out and be proud of how good you have made your body look, but if you are going to minister the focus should be as much as possible on the written Word, not on how nice your arms are or if you have a six pack of abs.

It takes hard work and discipline to build a lot of strength, some mass, build up a six pack. If someone who loves fitness wants to show off their nice muscle physique then they should save the showing off the muscles at a gym, at a loved one's house or at the beach for example. A so called, Pastor can look great in a nice normal shirt. He doesn't need to be wearing tight fitting shirts like he needs people to stare at how nice his chest looks. I feel blessed because God has grown me into a man that can see there is something very wrong with this type of preaching. I mean I can see it before Justin points it out and that is all due to the grace of God for opening my eyes. However I also feel very sad when I see so many people sitting in the audience applauding and cheering. I mean I feel genuinely sad for them and I guess I can praise God for that too. I know exactly what you mean. It's hard for me to understand how people can be so easily fooled. For years, I let good people, (much like those in the audience), make me feel guilty about the ominous and sickening feeling I got when I would hear these people on TV. I am thankful to Justin Peters for lifting that guilt off my shoulders. He has given me the courage to take a stand on my convictions.

Until around March this year, I used to attend Elevation Church every Sunday, a friend had warned me about Steven long ago but it only remained as a thought at the back of my head. But with every sermon, I was drawn away from God and drawn closer to Steven. But that thought started rebuking me from within, and slowly I just couldn't stand Steven's preaching, and then one day I left the service midway. I started watching John McArthur, Paul Washer, RC Sproul, John Piper etc along with my own bible study, and now I see how bad Steven's preaching actually is and how people are trapped in his ministry. I feel bad that God's name and word are being profaned this way, I genuinely pray that Steven and Elevation Church members turn to God, and take part in true communion.

Philippians tells us we are to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. I believe we don't ever take someone else's word for it, but we listen to what they have to say, then do our due diligence in researching and finding the truth through listening to the Holy Spirit which our God has given us as a deposit.

As soon as you were going to play the first clip of Steven, I braced myself because I knew he would be screaming…. It’s honestly very jarring to my soul. I always listen to the tone in someone’s voice, especially pastors and or preachers. Steven seems to scream in desperation… His voice is even more jarring when compared to yours. Your voice to me sounds comforting, peaceful and close to Christ.

I never heard of Steven Furtick until I watched this video. Aside from the on-stage blasphemy, accidental or not, the screaming alone would immediately have me running for the door. Anyone who preaches by shouting and screaming is trying to hide something via distraction, and cannot be trusted.

Furtick has two daddies. I have heard him say on separate occasions that Rod Parsley is his "spiritual father" and that T.D. Jakes is his spiritual father. I used to watch TBN quite a bit before Jan and Paul died, and I have come to realize that if any pastor was promoted by them, then that is a YOOGE red flag to avoid that pastor.
Justin, the very first time I heard Furtick, I knew he was false. I couldnt believe how my decernment and knowing my Bible instantly caught it. However, I have been saved 45 years, so Im not a new convert. It amazes me the crowds these people draw....❤
I live in PA. My christian support group loves Elevation and recommends their music and sermons frequently. I listened to Steven once and immediately knew I did not agree with his teachings or his preaching style. I have since left the support group.

I just wanna say something about all this. When i was doing 5 yr sentence in prison, i was feeling really really lost at one point..i was laying down on my bunk and i had a 8 inch plastic tv. I came across his channel by accident and just started to watch his sermon. Whatever i was going through and needed to hear what i needed, heard it from this man. And it helped me alot in that time of need. Whoever the ppl are and pastors or leaders, god can speak through anybody it doesnt matter who it is. Let god do the judging and conviction through the holy spirit. Im sure every person in their life will realize that there heading the wrong way even if there pastors or leaders or sinners. And i appreciate you justin peters for correcting them and hopefully they will listen.

How does T.D. Jake's explain that when John Baptized Christ, Christ came out of the water, the Holy Spirit descended upon him, while God spoke from the clouds, "This is My Son, in whom I am well pleased." All three present at the same time. Separate manifestations cannot appear at the same time.

I have to agree with Norris Johnson II below. You completely misunderstand Oneness Pentecostalism and Modalism. The three manifestations are your Persons, and they are eternally CONSTANT. He does not change hats; each one has His own hat. I would not in any way endorse these Word of Faith teachers - my opinion of them is as negative as yours or more so, but for different reasons. I personally think that the WORST heresy in the Church is the separation of God from His creation. He IS the No-thing He created everything from, so everything IS Him. Our problem is getting into the proper relationship IN His being, not WITH it. "Little gods" does not cut it, certainly. Properly read, God in the Bible says that we ARE Him. If this is heresy, well, take God to task for saying it.

Alright sir let's calm down, this man taking clips out of context isn't Furtick's fault and doesn't make his teachings all false. He was clearly quoting what God says to us not that he is actually God. This whole video is just taking clips of Furtick out of context and saying its all heresy. If you listened to the entire sermons maybe you would have a better idea of what he actually meant in these clips. He can't always control what/how you interpret his teachings as. This is the exact same thing the apostle Paul warned about in his teachings. He said really way out of context things all over the new testament and many called his teachings blasphemy, does that make him a false teacher? No, so stop taking random clips of a teacher and calling them blasphemy. No preacher is perfect in how they word things, that doesn't make him a false teacher.

No I'veS never watched any of his sermons,he's too loud and scary acting. It makes me nervous. I've never watched any of these false teachers, I don't like screaming and hollering preachers.
I see that Justin Peters is a stern pastor but however showed in a loving way that we should pray for our enemies. Not exactly our enemies, but those pastors are preaching things that go against God so they are our enemies. I really sometimes think even though we can't trust a person, we still should try our best to pray that they'll turn to become a better person if God wills it.
I was highly involved in Elevation Church & even heavily assisted a church plant in my area. The heresy & blasphemy extends down to each campus pastor in how the model of the church runs. When I say it was BAD it was BAD. I am so glad I left in 2018 & never looked back. I pray those I lead to that church awaken to the truth & I feel so bad to have lead too many into that cult.
When a campus pastor disagrees with how they’re to preach or how something is run and doesn’t see it as right theyre removed QUICKLY and replaced with another campus pastor from main campus. These pastors do NOT go to seminary but go to Steven Furtick’s classes where he picks and chooses who is good enough for these classes and who will teach according to how they’re trained. You spend two years in that “Elevation school” & you may or may not get a job as a new campus pastor. They also train volunteers to be very loud, and jump and dance when they worship. Those who obey that rule and are the best “movers” are chosen to sit in the front rows of the church in order to encourage the crowd to be more charismatic and energetic with their worship so they can get better video and photos of their service. It’s all about numbers and if you didn’t invite enough people the campus pastor will yell at you during volunteer meetings before church. There’s so much more I could share. When I said its BAD I meant it. It’s BAD. Im just thankful I woke up when I did.
You may not realize this...but you have a testament. Christians for some reason...do not Stand Up, Stand Against bullying in the church. With the fall of Hillsong, Beibers Pastor in NY. (MANY, MANY..l mean a lot) NAR church pastor are committing adultery...Chris Hodges own son & recently Pastor Jeremy of Hope City in Houston (supposedly fastest growing church in nation) who was our families church. You might look into doing a You Tube channel. I feel it would be FAR, FAR MORE credible...having some true understanding....that there is a You Tube host that is part of Charasmatic evangelism (and still subscribes to gifts of spirit)... to REVIEW churches within our own denomination to Bring into the Light who are operating heretically or bullying. When others who are Cessationist, calvinists, etc...do these critiques...it comes across with alot of bias & cynicism that is not necessarily genuine. To bring forward MANY, MANY others who have your story...for a You Tube platform...but who want to still protect the Gifts of the Holy Spirit - as this guy hasn't got a clue about. You could bring 9n Pastors inside charismatic evangelism that could be a part of the discussion- as to how we are being destroyed because of such zealot false minded pastor domination and self centered - self worship, producing worldliness & no holiness. You probably learned a lot of technique from those classes & leadership & could still put to good use for the Brokeness of many others, the Therapy to tell their story, which helps to cause others to see the light & gain the courage to leave. Almost all who leave have no community to believe them, support them, hear them. They are thrown away like garbage (Unloving & Heartlesslt from a church of all things). That is truly the spirit that needs dealt with as a Discussion. That these churches operate from Narcissistic Insolent Pride that breeds an Unloving, Hearers & Bullying Spirit which is Unrighteousness...and Paul called Christians to deal with Unrighteousness inside the church body. Obviously prat about it...but you might already know others and may already have a team. We need the body of Christ to hold itself accountable. We don't those in the body of Christ who have no understanding of the TRUTH of the powerful grace in the gifts of the Holy Spirit poured out to us for overcoming as we walk thru this world.

I used to go to churches like this and even wrote and arranged music for large churches. I left when I was offered a full-time job doing that and felt that it was a performance from beginning to end. I pray for anyone stuck in these places. Thank you for illuminating people like him that are leading people to hell.
A church teaching strict Word of God and being led by a proper teacher should have NO need to "create a show".A good pastor would need nobody to really help plan the service but because of outside demands like shut in visits, hospital visits, baptisms, weddings and funerals many need a helping hand. Help by the volunteer playing the organ and few other volunteers and volunteer choir is the simple recipe. All the hiring and planning sure does seem like a man trying to "sell" God to other men. The thing that saddens me most is how many people blindly follow the misguided false doctrine that is taught by all the false teachers (and I hate to use the word teachers there because they are certainly not) in the screenshot of Parsley and his cronies. Although I do believe that when one truly yearns to know Gods truths “truly” and they pray about it, God will through prayer give them that gut feeling that this (Parsley and his cronies) message is not Gods will for them or anyone else. When I hear a message from a person supposedly teaching the word of God and it’s something I’m like hmmmm I will go down a rabbit hole and spend sometimes hours in different passages in the Bible to see if Gods word aligns with what they said. I’ll pray to God for discernment and He will lead you to the correct conclusion.

I could totally believe that the whole "I am god almighty" comment was just a slip of the tongue, but I've yet to see clarification from Elevation on what was said. Someone feel free to let me know if there is an update on that, but I sure haven't seen anything. Admitting he made a mistake and shouldn't have said that would require a level of humility I don't think he's capable of. It would ruin his image.
@@mk71b I have no Avenue to reach out to him personally. That's part of the problem with the whole "celebrity pastor" thing, the person in question always becomes unreachable by the common man. I did however reach out to Elevation, as did many others for clarification. No answers on that. They actively ignore folks bringing this issue up. From my understanding, that is business as usual when it comes to people asking about Furtick's slip ups.
@Clinton Dove honestly, I don't know if he has any elders he answers to that are diligent in their duty but that would help a lot. Like I said, I'm perfectly willing to accept that he may have said that accidentally or meant something else. But that's something that should be followed up with a clarification and apology. I never want to assume the worst from someone, but he does have a pattern of saying very troubling things and then the church never addressing same thing.

Amen to that brother these preachers that are millionaires are doing something to get all those Millions. Anna would be great if one was preaching The Gospel According to the word of God according to the Bible add made all those Millions but the only problem with that is God encourage us in the book acts too to sell all our possessions and give to every man as they have need and if there's one thing a rich man a rich woman will not do is give away their money. I am in the Lutheran movement and Martin Luther in addition to being the one that headed the Reformation because the Catholics were selling indulgences and ultimately selling the gospel and so we know that there are other preachers that are going to do this and that's what Stephen TD Jakes John Hagee and Benny Hinn do among others Steven furtick had left the Southern Baptist convention simply because he agreed with his wife and that she could preach and the southern baptist did not or would not allow this now in the word of faith and praise God that God opened your eyes thank God and by the way brother I'm a physically handicapped Christian and minister of the word of God and Steven furtick and the word of faith what not allow me in their church or their lives because they feel I've not been healed they concentrate on the physical healing brother you make it a great day

I listened to Furtick a few times at my sister’s recommendation. After a few sermons I realized he was completely full of himself.
He looks like a WWE "ring personality" formerly known as a professional wrestler! Superstar Billy Graham would be impressed!
I recommend frozen oil and chosen vessels .. because I feel some of you is just seeing one or two sermons and going he’s garbage or a motivational speaker … I believe he is annoitted and we’re placing stumbling blocks in his path when we stop to this God is clearly working through him … you don’t like a couple sermons go listen to 10 more the man loves god and loves his church

I attended Elevation for about a year with my two teenagers because all of their friends from school were going to church there. This was back in the early days - around 2009/2010. There was always an uneasiness in my heart when we went to church there. The auditorium was always dark when we would enter and the band would be playing loudly. One Sunday, the band played the Beatles song, "Helter Skelter" and I was aghast. I sat there stunned for a few minutes, almost not believing what I was hearing. That was all I needed to know. We left immediately and never went back. Incidentally, that afternoon I sent an email to Elevation church, thinking that maybe they were too young to know that those words were written in blood inside the LaBianca home. Of course, I never heard back.
I attended New Spring in Anderson, SC around the same time. Of course, Furtick was a paid guest speaker at New Spring quite a lot, so I had to sit there while he pranced around the stage yelling. Not to be outdone, Perry Noble at New Spring had the band play 'Highway to Hell' on Easter Sunday. He tried to justify it, but I wasn't buying it. I had a TERRIBLE uneasiness in my heart as well, but the rest of my family didn't seem as bothered and I wanted to preserve a family day with church and dinner. As time went on, we stopped going, praise God. I know God will save anyone who accepts Jesus as their Savior, but I also believe He leads us out of 'churches' such as Elevation with rock star mega rich pastors.
There's only ONE WAY to KNOW Almighty God's Only True Word and that's Reading For Yourself The Original King James Holy Bible and NOTHING ELSE, or YOU Will Continue To Be Deceived By The Billions Of FALSE DOCTRINES of Devils preachers in the World.

He’s just a hype man and Tony Robbin’s who throughs in a few out of context verses to make the audience feel good about themselves. They leave there feeling amazing, reminded of how wonderful they are and they come back every Sunday because they’re dependent on this man instead of God & His word to fill the. To take no personal responsibility and to be told they are special, set apart. And ultimately it a glorify thy self and the “pastor” as he also glorifies himself and never God. I used to get mad now I feel bad. There is a higher standard placard upon teachers and leaders and I fear for his and all these word of faith practitioners. I pray that the Lord God has mercy on their souls and opens their eyes.
Preachers we have these days are purely motivational speakers.. They don't challenge us to dig deeper into God's word. We listen to them to feel good when going through challenges in life.

Some of Furtick's "sermons" are just too absurd to be funny.
I stopped going there a year ago. I finally really listen to the words that came out of his mouth, it would start from the Bible but the sermon didn't end that way.
I watched one sermon where he talked about his wife for almost 15 whole minutes. A shame, he has a ton of charisma and could be a very good preacher. But he deviates too much and makes up his own gospel

Justin Peters does a great job of highlighting these false teachers. What is really concerning is when you see how large the churches and congregations are. That is many people being taught false doctrine.
You know why those false doctrines are so popular? Because they all appeal to man's fleshly nature in some form or another, and ofttimes without preaching on sin or a real need of a Savior. If they do mention the need of a Savior, it's usually in the context of "living a better life now". I.E. they effectively degrade Jesus to a mere piggy bank.

Justin seems rather hypocritical he recites scripture that plainly states there is only "One" God and that He does not share His divinity with any other then turns around and says but yes God shares His divinity with two other co-equal beings in the Godhead.
It can't be both either God is "one" who possess the attributes of all three "titles" or there is three separate and distinct persons in the Godhead.
Last I checked scripture says there is no other god beside Him, that He is "One".

That same Word took on flesh and came as a light into the world and in the Word was life and the life was the light of the world. There is One God in essence and three distinct persons, co-equal and co-eternal: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit.
Last I checked only God can forgive sins since He was the One against whom WE, being in ADAM OUR FEDERAL HEAD sinned against and yet Christ during His earthly ministry forgave sins Matthew 9:4-6. Who does HE think HE is to even forgive sin? Said the Pharisees and Scribes about Jesus IN THEIR MIND as JESUS READ THEIR MIND AND ANSWERED THEM.

I love this message. It’s been very eye opening and there are so many false prophets out there disguised as a wolf in sheep’s clothing. What’s scary is how many young Christians won’t even question what he’s saying.
He looks like people of the world, who seek the spotlight, seek to get noticed. It is fine to be work out and be proud of how good you have made your body look, but if you are going to minister the focus should be as much as possible on the written Word, not on how nice your arms are or if you have a six pack of abs.

It takes hard work and discipline to build a lot of strength, some mass, build up a six pack. If someone who loves fitness wants to show off their nice muscle physique then they should save the showing off the muscles at a gym, at a loved one's house or at the beach for example. A so called, Pastor can look great in a nice normal shirt. He doesn't need to be wearing tight fitting shirts like he needs people to stare at how nice his chest looks. I feel blessed because God has grown me into a man that can see there is something very wrong with this type of preaching. I mean I can see it before Justin points it out and that is all due to the grace of God for opening my eyes. However I also feel very sad when I see so many people sitting in the audience applauding and cheering. I mean I feel genuinely sad for them and I guess I can praise God for that too. Thank you Justin for hopefully showing some that are in that audience that God is not there.
I know exactly what you mean. It's hard for me to understand how people can be so easily fooled. For years, I let good people, (much like those in the audience), make me feel guilty about the ominous and sickening feeling I got when I would hear these people on TV. I am thankful to Justin Peters for lifting that guilt off my shoulders. He has given me the courage to take a stand on my convictions.

Until around March this year, I used to attend Elevation Church every Sunday, a friend had warned me about Steven long ago but it only remained as a thought at the back of my head. But with every sermon, I was drawn away from God and drawn closer to Steven. But that thought started rebuking me from within, and slowly I just couldn't stand Steven's preaching, and then one day I left the service midway. I started watching John McArthur, Paul Washer, RC Sproul, John Piper etc along with my own bible study, and now I see how bad Steven's preaching actually is and how people are trapped in his ministry. I feel bad that God's name and word are being profaned this way, I genuinely pray that Steven and Elevation Church members turn to God, and take part in true communion.
What do you think of Paul Washer? I was watching another video and someone was saying he’s no better than Furtick as he warps the Bible to his own agenda. I’ve never gotten that sense and the comment made me confused.

I have to admit, I was sold in my first sermon at Elevation University campus. He has such as way with words that mystifes the entire audience. Not until I finally read the bible on my own did I discover that God is not a tolerant friend whom accepts your narritive

Philippians tells us we are to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. I believe we don't ever take someone else's word for it, but we listen to what they have to say, then do our due diligence in researching and finding the truth through listening to the Holy Spirit which our God has given us as a deposit.

I never heard of Steven Furtick until I watched this video. Aside from the on-stage blasphemy, accidental or not, the screaming alone would immediately have me running for the door. Anyone who preaches by shouting and screaming is trying to hide something via distraction, and cannot be trusted.

I live in PA. My christian support group loves Elevation and recommends their music and sermons frequently. I listened to Steven once and immediately knew I did not agree with his teachings or his preaching style. I have since left the support group.

I just wanna say something about all this. When i was doing 5 yr sentence in prison, i was feeling really really lost at one point..i was laying down on my bunk and i had a 8 inch plastic tv. I came across his channel by accident and just started to watch his sermon. Whatever i was going through and needed to hear what i needed, heard it from this man. And it helped me alot in that time of need. Whoever the ppl are and pastors or leaders, god can speak through anybody it doesnt matter who it is. Let god do the judging and conviction through the holy spirit. Im sure every person in their life will realize that there heading the wrong way even if there pastors or leaders or sinners. And i appreciate you justin peters for correcting them and hopefully they will listen.

I have to agree with Norris Johnson II below. You completely misunderstand Oneness Pentecostalism and Modalism. The three manifestations are your Persons, and they are eternally CONSTANT. He does not change hats; each one has His own hat. I would not in any way endorse these Word of Faith teachers - my opinion of them is as negative as yours or more so, but for different reasons. I personally think that the WORST heresy in the Church is the separation of God from His creation. He IS the No-thing He created everything from, so everything IS Him. Our problem is getting into the proper relationship IN His being, not WITH it. "Little gods" does not cut it, certainly. Properly read, God in the Bible says that we ARE Him. If this is heresy, well, take God to task for saying it.

Interesting but one thing I caught early on in your video was i feel taken out of context when furtick said i am God he was speaking towards the audience from the perspective of God to drive home his point. Alright sir let's calm down, this man taking clips out of context isn't Furtick's fault and doesn't make his teachings all false. He was clearly quoting what God says to us not that he is actually God. This whole video is just taking clips of Furtick out of context and saying its all heresy. If you listened to the entire sermons maybe you would have a better idea of what he actually meant in these clips. He can't always control what/how you interpret his teachings as. This is the exact same thing the apostle Paul warned about in his teachings. He said really way out of context things all over the new testament and many called his teachings blasphemy, does that make him a false teacher? No, so stop taking random clips of a teacher and calling them blasphemy. No preacher is perfect in how they word things, that doesn't make him a false teacher.

No I'veS never watched any of his sermons,he's too loud and scary acting. It makes me nervous. I've never watched any of these false teachers, I don't like screaming and hollering preachers.
I see that Justin Peters is a stern pastor but however showed in a loving way that we should pray for our enemies. Not exactly our enemies, but those pastors are preaching things that go against God so they are our enemies. I really sometimes think even though we can't trust a person, we still should try our best to pray that they'll turn to become a better person if God wills it.
I was highly involved in Elevation Church & even heavily assisted a church plant in my area. The heresy & blasphemy extends down to each campus pastor in how the model of the church runs. When I say it was BAD it was BAD. I am so glad I left in 2018 & never looked back. I pray those I lead to that church awaken to the truth & I feel so bad to have lead too many into that cult.
When a campus pastor disagrees with how they’re to preach or how something is run and doesn’t see it as right theyre removed QUICKLY and replaced with another campus pastor from main campus. These pastors do NOT go to seminary but go to Steven Furtick’s classes where he picks and chooses who is good enough for these classes and who will teach according to how they’re trained. You spend two years in that “Elevation school” & you may or may not get a job as a new campus pastor.
They also train volunteers to be very loud, and jump and dance when they worship. Those who obey that rule and are the best “movers” are chosen to sit in the front rows of the church in order to encourage the crowd to be more charismatic and energetic with their worship so they can get better video and photos of their service. It’s all about numbers and if you didn’t invite enough people the campus pastor will yell at you during volunteer meetings before church. There’s so much more I could share. When I said its BAD I meant it. It’s BAD. Im just thankful I woke up when I did.
You may not realize this...but you have a testament. Christians for some reason...do not Stand Up, Stand Against bullying in the church. With the fall of Hillsong, Beibers Pastor in NY. (MANY, MANY..l mean a lot) NAR church pastor are committing adultery...Chris Hodges own son & recently Pastor Jeremy of Hope City in Houston (supposedly fastest growing church in nation) who was our families church. You might look into doing a You Tube channel. I feel it would be FAR, FAR MORE credible...having some true understanding....that there is a You Tube host that is part of Charasmatic evangelism (and still subscribes to gifts of spirit)...
to REVIEW churches within our own denomination to Bring into the Light who are operating heretically or bullying. When others who are Cessationist, calvinists, etc...do these critiques...it comes across with alot of bias & cynicism that is not necessarily genuine.
To bring forward MANY, MANY others who have your story...for a You Tube platform...but who want to still protect the Gifts of the Holy Spirit - as this guy hasn't got a clue about. You could bring 9n Pastors inside charismatic evangelism that could be a part of the discussion- as to how we are being destroyed because of such zealot false minded pastor domination and self centered - self worship, producing worldliness & no holiness. You probably learned a lot of technique from those classes & leadership & could still put to good use for the Brokeness of many others, the Therapy to tell their story, which helps to cause others to see the light & gain the courage to leave. Almost all who leave have no community to believe them, support them, hear them. They are thrown away like garbage (Unloving & Heartlesslt from a church of all things). That is truly the spirit that needs dealt with as a Discussion. That these churches operate from Narcissistic Insolent Pride that breeds an Unloving, Hearers & Bullying Spirit which is Unrighteousness...and Paul called Christians to deal with Unrighteousness inside the church body. Obviously prat about it...but you might already know others and may already have a team. We need the body of Christ to hold itself accountable. We don't those in the body of Christ who have no understanding of the TRUTH of the powerful grace in the gifts of the Holy Spirit poured out to us for overcoming as we walk thru this world.

I've met followers of these people who say there's 'no need to study the Bible' anymore. 'God now speaks through' these Word-Faith leaders which supersedes God's Word. They hang on the words of Copeland, Jakes, Hinn, Meyer and all the rest of them, refusing to hear scripture.

If I'd had the misfortune to listen to Furtick as the preacher of my first ever sermon, I would have run a mile in the other direction. He sounds like a lunatic. There is nothing (that I can see) God honouring in bellowing and shouting and trying to turn yourself into the hero of the piece, when you are in fact the villain. This sort of behaviour is disastrous and tars every Christian with the nutcase brush. Thanks Justin for all your work. It's so important.

I absolutely agree w/your concerns about Steven Furtick. I too, was turned away years ago from the body-building appearance he would show off while on stage representing a minister of the Lord. The loud shouting is always a turn off for me as well. I also see the evil in the eyes of Kenneth Copeland. Thank you for your podcasts and exposing these heretics.

I used to go to churches like this and even wrote and arranged music for large churches. I left when I was offered a full-time job doing that and felt that it was a performance from beginning to end. I pray for anyone stuck in these places. Thank you for illuminating people like him that are leading people to hell.

A church teaching strict Word of God and being led by a proper teacher should have NO need to "create a show".A good pastor would need nobody to really help plan the service but because of outside demands like shut in visits, hospital visits, baptisms, weddings and funerals many need a helping hand. Help by the volunteer playing the organ and few other volunteers and volunteer choir is the simple recipe. All the hiring and planning sure does seem like a man trying to "sell" God to other men. The thing that saddens me most is how many people blindly follow the misguided false doctrine that is taught by all the false teachers (and I hate to use the word teachers there because they are certainly not) in the screenshot of Parsley and his cronies.
Although I do believe that when one truly yearns to know Gods truths “truly” and they pray about it, God will through prayer give them that gut feeling that this (Parsley and his cronies) message is not Gods will for them or anyone else. When I hear a message from a person supposedly teaching the word of God and it’s something I’m like hmmmm I will go down a rabbit hole and spend sometimes hours in different passages in the Bible to see if Gods word aligns with what they said. I’ll pray to God for discernment and He will lead you to the correct conclusion.

@@mk71b I have no Avenue to reach out to him personally. That's part of the problem with the whole "celebrity pastor" thing, the person in question always becomes unreachable by the common man.
I did however reach out to Elevation, as did many others for clarification. No answers on that. They actively ignore folks bringing this issue up.
From my understanding, that is business as usual when it comes to people asking about Furtick's slip ups.
@Clinton Dove honestly, I don't know if he has any elders he answers to that are diligent in their duty but that would help a lot.
Like I said, I'm perfectly willing to accept that he may have said that accidentally or meant something else. But that's something that should be followed up with a clarification and apology. I never want to assume the worst from someone, but he does have a pattern of saying very troubling things and then the church never addressing same thing.
