@@SegaMarioi dunno it makes more sense for me to be roger, since it's a copy of sonic and even in the japanese version his seiyuu is the same as sonic just more grave and a bit off due to being a robot
It's all come full circle, as Metal Overlord can shout "I'LL CRUSH YOU!!!" when throwing a battleship in Sonic Heroes and that came out long before Metal Sonic shouts it in SMBZ.
Considering Sean Schemmel isn't returning as Black Doom, it's a shame that Ryan Drummond probably isn't either, but oh well. I'm also curious as to who's voicing him this time around. If I had to guess, it's either someone already voicing another character such as Roger Craig Smith or someone completely new entirely.
Shadow finally catching Ws with this game and the sonic movie, hopefully silver gets a solo game one day like we play through his entire dark future rebuilding it. Could be the darkest yet most hopeful sonic game.
As cool as this boss fight is, I'm still a little sad that A. This isn't a Doom Wing fight, and B. Metal _still_ doesn't use Espio's invisibility (it was unused in Heroes, the only evidence we have of this is the voice line of Sonic going "HE'S GONE!"
It never occurred to me that Metal Overlord looked the way he did because he was a purpose-built chimera to emulate and magnify the powers he absorbed.
Back here to say that they saved Doom Wing for a reason. Also, Metal Overlord isn't just a chimera. Not only does he possess DNA from Perfect Chaos, the fearsome water dragon deity, but based on his quotes from Sonic Heroes (JP), he's basically proclaiming himself to be the leviathan.
Another cool thing too is how, at least in the console version not counting 3DS, this game will now have a boss from all 3 “Adventure” era games. Sonic has Perfect Chaos from SA1, and now Shadow has the Biolizard from SA2 and Metal Overlord from Heroes.
For a while now I have been trying to figure out what shadow says here 1:53 but I believe he is saying, “not much to show for such big talk” bro is taunting him 😂😂 I hope he does this more
Metal calling Shadow an imposter I think works amazingly in multiple different ways depending on how you can interpret it. Neo Metal Sonic in the events of Heroes left behind the Shadow Android to make Shadow question if he’s real, so maybe Metal Overlord is trying to cripple Shadow’s morale by calling him an imposter Shadow instead of the original. Metal Overlord is taking out his rage and deep-seated insecurities of being a copy of Sonic himself, similar to how he called Sonic his copy in Heroes. I’m so unbelievably happy with how they wrote his lines in this fight. It has that same interesting vagueness that his original fight had as is a testament to why Metal Sonic is my favourite villain in fiction
if anyone didn't notice: This stage is the outside area of chemical plant in sonic forces. you get to see this area in Chemical Plant - Network Terminal.
I imagine in the beginning of the Boss battle shadow surf through the storm and notice a silhouette of neo metal Sonic standing one of the structures and just like in the game Sonic heroes he shouts a lightning up to the sky and a big flash of light shines so bright and there's was metal overlord gonna fight shadow and the Boss battle begins.
Metal Overlord can never not be badass. And I love how he is in this game as a boss fight. I know we have Metal Sonic in Sonic Generations but who cares? We have the greatest version of Metal of all time!
If sonic was able to take down perfect chaos without turning super, I don’t see any reason why shadow can’t take down metal overlord without turning super Those two have gotten stronger as the years went by
God, love the heroes throwback, the final boss BGM, metal’s voice, but the concept of how one mere ultimate lifeform took down a boss single-handedly instead of 3 “super” heroes really blew my mind😮😮
Sonic beating perfect Chaos by boosting and no need for super sonic. Shadow beating Metal Overlord by surfing and no need for super shadow. The power spike is real.
This is awesome I’m pretty sure there as many bosses in Shadow’s story as in Generations with 4 main bosses and so far we’ve seen 2 which means 2 might be yet to be seen including Devil Doom and one other boss possibly Mephiles from Sonic 06.
With What I'm Made Of being brought back, I feel it will be a missed moment not to add the orchestra to it, given it is part of the Sonic Symphony setlist. So they could easily lift a soundboard recording from a show, if they were trying to save money with having an orchestra in a studio.
It's very possible that this is just a placeholder (They used 3DS Supporting Me as a placeholder in a lot of preview footage for the Biolizard boss after all)
I mean, didn't the first b-roll footage had the music from the original games but the demo (and by extension, the full release) has the remixes? It might be the same case here where they're just using the original What I'm Made Of song then it's a remix of it (or a different track) on the actual release.
Metal Sonic's voice is...weird... Also side note, a boss that originally took three super forms and a grand total of 12 characters to beat, now only requires a non-super form of Shadow, who was originally only ONE of those 12 characters required to beat him. Just what the hell has Shadow been doing this whole time he was missing from the franchise? Imagine how powerful Nack must be now O.o if...he survived his 'death' in Superstars I mean O.o And holy shit Mighty's power level must be insane now.
This is so peak. Metal Overlord’s new voice is amazing, I love the whirlpool phase and that finishing kick Shadow does is just epic. I cannot wait to play this fight for myself when the game comes out! Also part of me hopes that the “What I’m Made Of” track in the background is a placeholder. I love the original song but a remix of it would be so awesome!
I never thought I'd witness the return of the Strongest form of the Coolest Sonic Villain, and yet here I am squealing with excitement like a little girl! SEGA simply didn't call any of them,Dan Green and Ryan Drummond never got called to reprise their roles. So Roger Craig Smith and Pollock are replacing them.
Heroes was my very first Sonic game and the one that made me a fan. So I was just sitting and waiting at the loading screen with the "???" wondering "Which boss is this one? Mephiles? Infinite? One of the bosses from Shadow '05?" And then out of nowhere, the opening chords to *What I'm Made Of* starts playing and nearly snapped up out of my chair knowing it could only mean one thing. 7-year-old me was SOOO happy! Yeah I can hear "Scurrying" now.
I consider "Screw" to be a lighter swear, like "Crap" or "Damn"
Yeah, I heard that at first too.
2:20 - I love that he sounds SO FREAKING NETTLED!!
like the fact they remember that metal overlord used chaos control in the boss fight with supersonic. and new chaos control interaction seems like both beings with chaos control can move in stop time. which is weird because in sonic heroes super sonic could not move even though sonic knows how to use it chaos control strange. might be a plot hole there.
The trick is that Metal Overlord's use of Chaos Control is actually STRONGER than most. 20 seconds of stopped time is nothing to scoff at even if it can be shortened to 10 with some struggling.
@@galaxycamerata yes in the game he has a strong 20 seconds time stop but seems like power wise its no different from shadow because they both can move while time has stopped. if shadow has no chaos emerald here in this fight he is equal to shadow base chaos powers which makes sense he just copied how to use it. but if shadow in this point in the story uses a emerald before sonic takes it in generations that's impressive by metal overlord that's a huge feet chaos control spam with no emerald is crazy
@@darkintimebreakerone of three, sonic decided to not use chaos control in that fight against overlord just cause, he really only used it in sa2 and i don't remember him using it again even against enemies that were more powerful than him like dark gaia, solaris and the end.
Shadow got more powerful so his chaos control also got more powerful, or his doom powers might give him a boost in his chaos powers as well.
@@jersont.3339The only other time that Sonic used Chaos Control was in Sonic 06 as he used it with Shadow and Silver to make the wormholes to travel through time as after that game, Sonic has never used it again since Chaos Control is more associated with Shadow.
Seeing metal being an actual treat again, not only sonics equal, but his superior is so cool, the last time he was a treat of his own was in sonic rivals, hope Neo metal returns to be a main villain again
I mean, he just returnes to be a normal boss fight lol
I wonder if Metal is being voiced by Roger Craig Smith like how he was played by Ryan Drummond in Heroes.
That's what I was pondering too.
It's Mike Pollock. You can hear his gravelly voice in there. Kinda makes sense since he's an Eggman creation.
But at the same time, it's a shame it's not a deep, robotic version of Sonic's voice. I always wanted to hear Roger's take on Metal Sonic.
EDIT: Never mind, it's Ray Chase.
@@SegaMarioi dunno it makes more sense for me to be roger, since it's a copy of sonic and even in the japanese version his seiyuu is the same as sonic just more grave and a bit off due to being a robot
@@jersont.3339 Well, yeah, I'd rather hear Roger's take as well. Maybe it wouldn't really turn out as well, so they resorted to Mike Pollock.
@@SegaMario i mean it's a good voice, and i really like the metallic tone he gives overlord so it's fine
*SONIC TEAM!! MAKE INFINITE'S BOSS THE MOST HYPE REVENGE BATTLE AND MY LIFE IS YOURS!!*

Well... Keep your life for you 😂
I think the new Doom powers are a great way to incorporate the vehicle segments from past games in a way that makes sense for Shadow.
Suddenly realizing that they voice direction is trying to mimic Final Form Cooler is the ultimate fanservice.
It's all come full circle, as Metal Overlord can shout "I'LL CRUSH YOU!!!" when throwing a battleship in Sonic Heroes and that came out long before Metal Sonic shouts it in SMBZ.
@@RandoGruntGahh I never knew that it's cool since smbz mecha sonic is actually metal sonic
How can you tell Sonic is pure kino? It takes inspiration from Dragon Ball. I love the two series!
I love that Metal in no way goes down easy, bro gets hit like a million times throughout this video and that's with cuts in the footage.
The fact that shadow and sonic are able to take out bosses they faced before without their super forms shows how much stronger they have become
Dumb dbz style power creep
@@rendismowerto2481peak power creep
One month late but technically Shadow uses doom powers to stop Metal Overlord
OMG WHAT IM MADE OF!!! PLAYING ON THE BACKGROUND!!!!
Glad to see Metal Overlord return
I wonder who's voicing Neo Metal. Is it Roger with filters like Heroes did with Ryan's Sonic voice or someone else?
Probably no filter, unless you are Omega, I don't think most need a filter
October cannot come any sooner, because now I wanna know if this is Roger or someone else.
Not a big fan of the voice personally, I'm hoping it grows on me. Sounds way less robotic than Heroes version
Someone upped the octaves of the "HA, THAT POWER ALREADY BELONGS TO ME!" clip.
It's Mike Pollock.
The best thing about the boss battle is that you hear What I Made Of as a song in the background
Shadow finally catching Ws with this game and the sonic movie, hopefully silver gets a solo game one day like we play through his entire dark future rebuilding it. Could be the darkest yet most hopeful sonic game.
Sonic X Shadow Generations Gameplay - Boss Battle: Metal Overlord
Time: 00:05 Metal Overlord (1st Phase)
Time: 01:23 Metal Overlord (2nd Phase)
Quieres que te sea sincero, es que la phase 2 es un poquito decepcionante, osea parece la phase 2 parece ser jefe de manía🍐.
@@galaxycameratawas that not obvious
We probably have a doom wing fight in other boss fight
Back here to say that they saved Doom Wing for a reason. Also, Metal Overlord isn't just a chimera. Not only does he possess DNA from Perfect Chaos, the fearsome water dragon deity, but based on his quotes from Sonic Heroes (JP), he's basically proclaiming himself to be the leviathan.
2:47
I’m hoping there’s some dialogue like “hmph You’re not even good enough to be Sonic’s fake, Let alone Mine!”
Another cool thing too is how, at least in the console version not counting 3DS, this game will now have a boss from all 3 “Adventure” era games. Sonic has Perfect Chaos from SA1, and now Shadow has the Biolizard from SA2 and Metal Overlord from Heroes.
For a while now I have been trying to figure out what shadow says here 1:53 but I believe he is saying, “not much to show for such big talk” bro is taunting him 😂😂 I hope he does this more
Metal being able to counter Chaos Control just as I would expect is perfect!!
I absolutely love how since he has shadows bio data he can use chaos control when shadow uses it
This is peak! Thanks stadium
0:25 🎶Let me show you just what I’m made of🎵 Literally showed what Metal Overlord can do on the sea after in the air 21 years later! 😂
1:15
Dio & Jotaro moment
Imagine Metal Overlord saying,
"Long time, no see Sonic, my loath- You're not Sonic!"
Looks like Shadow alone is much more stronger than “the Power of Teamwork”
😂😂😂😂😅😅😅
yeah, fuck that so-called super power of teamwork
the only power of friendship he's got is his gun
To be fair Hes getting this power from somewhere else so Its the power of two 😂
The doom powers are still teamwork, Shadow liking it or not lmao
if anyone didn't notice:
This stage is the outside area of chemical plant in sonic forces.
you get to see this area in Chemical Plant - Network Terminal.
To quote the original boss in Sonic Heroes:
"Not even the Ultimate Life Form can defeat me now!"
ABOUT TIME MY BOY METAL GOT HIS VOICE BACK!
And I want it to stay that way...not just restricted to his Neo and Overlord forms.
Let's get ready to do this. We'll show that creep the REAL SUPER POWER of Shadow the Hedgehog!
Wooow, that's the first Shadow single-handedly defeated Metal Overlord without going super. 😮
Can we talk about the remastered What I'm Made Of? Cuz it's crazy good. The drums and I think guitar and bass has been re-recorded.
“As if I can be challenged by an imposter like you!”
LIKE YOU HAVE ROOM TO TALK!!!
Metal Overlord: IM THE KING OF ALL CREATION
I imagine in the beginning of the Boss battle shadow surf through the storm and notice a silhouette of neo metal Sonic standing one of the structures and just like in the game Sonic heroes he shouts a lightning up to the sky and a big flash of light shines so bright and there's was metal overlord gonna fight shadow and the Boss battle begins.

This is freaking sick! i can't believe they recreated metal overlord in the best way possible
All 3 characters need a metal sonic skin. Classic with classic metal, modern with modern metal, and shadow with neo metal.
Metal Overlord can never not be badass. And I love how he is in this game as a boss fight. I know we have Metal Sonic in Sonic Generations but who cares? We have the greatest version of Metal of all time!
Bro really had the audacity to claim he was the OG chaos control user
1:46 Shadow playing blade ball with metal sonic is the best thing i have seen all day
Why didn't Metal Overlord just turn his weakspot blue so he could be immune to speed-type character attacks?
Metal is still chucking battleships at us I'm satisfied
DID HE JUST DO A RIDER KICK!?
If sonic was able to take down perfect chaos without turning super, I don’t see any reason why shadow can’t take down metal overlord without turning super
Those two have gotten stronger as the years went by
So that means metal sonic is weak and so is chaos I mean like metal seems more like a punching bag wish egghead would upgrade him like other projects
@@lorenbrown7100No, it’s not that. Sonic and Shadow have simply grown stronger than their 1998 and 2003 past selves.
FYI for those who curious about song is what I am made of final boss of sonic heroes
I think every Sonic fan already knows that.
@HyperSonicXtreme Still, just in case there is one who doesn't recognize peak
sonic heroes: *needed super sonic and super aura tails and knuckles to defeat metal overlord*
shadow in SXSG: *base form defeats the overlord*
They get stronger overtime
God, love the heroes throwback, the final boss BGM, metal’s voice, but the concept of how one mere ultimate lifeform took down a boss single-handedly instead of 3 “super” heroes really blew my mind😮😮
Sonic beating perfect Chaos by boosting and no need for super sonic.
Shadow beating Metal Overlord by surfing and no need for super shadow.
The power spike is real.
"NOBODY CAN DEFEAT ME! NOT YOU, NOT SONIC, NOT ANYONE!" 🔥
"Nobody can defeat me! Not you!! Not Sonic!!! NOT ANYONE!!!!!!!!!"
Yeah keep telling yourself that you flying junkyard
This is awesome I’m pretty sure there as many bosses in Shadow’s story as in Generations with 4 main bosses and so far we’ve seen 2 which means 2 might be yet to be seen including Devil Doom and one other boss possibly Mephiles from Sonic 06.
Now THIS is the ultimate power.
Who knows, this is probably still placeholder music for all we know
@@spongebobfan78the demo has te remixes, though Supporting Me is only with the new instrumental, which I like more than with the lyrics
Metal Overlord sounds like Venjix from Power Rangers RPM
Metal Sonic's voice is...weird... Also side note, a boss that originally took three super forms and a grand total of 12 characters to beat, now only requires a non-super form of Shadow, who was originally only ONE of those 12 characters required to beat him. Just what the hell has Shadow been doing this whole time he was missing from the franchise? Imagine how powerful Nack must be now O.o if...he survived his 'death' in Superstars I mean O.o And holy shit Mighty's power level must be insane now.
Simple answer to how shadow got so strong: pushups, situps, and plenty of juice
the reason its so odd is because its not ryan drummond (sonics voice) thats voicing him this time. its mike pollock. eggmans Voice actor.
I will say this fight is Shadow’s equivalent to perfect chaos
This is so peak. Metal Overlord’s new voice is amazing, I love the whirlpool phase and that finishing kick Shadow does is just epic. I cannot wait to play this fight for myself when the game comes out!
Also part of me hopes that the “What I’m Made Of” track in the background is a placeholder. I love the original song but a remix of it would be so awesome!
It Is Remixed, But Hard To Notice
No this is stupid and makes no sense. So base Shadow can now solo a boss that was immune to even Super Sonic's attacks? LOL
@@rendismowerto2481 What about Sonic beating Perfect Chaos in OG Gens? Dawg, character growth makes sense.

But speaking of its voice, what accent is that lol
I’m so glad they brought back this song, & this was such a great boss fight!
I never thought I'd witness the return of the Strongest form of the Coolest Sonic Villain, and yet here I am squealing with excitement like a little girl!
They brought him to Modern Graphics _flawlessly,_ He's actually a Zippy and Agile boss despite being so big, he mocks Shadow for using Chaos control because he already has that power copied, AND THEY LET HIM KEEP WHAT I'M MADE OF INSTEAD OF GIVING HIM A NEW AND PROBABLY WORSE BOSS THEME!
I’m sad to see the original Metal Overlord voice actor didn’t return, but glad to see Metal Overlord is back
SEGA simply didn't call any of them,Dan Green and Ryan Drummond never got called to reprise their roles. So Roger Craig Smith and Pollock are replacing them.
Admittedly, i do like his new voice, but i can't help but miss his old voice
Heroes was my very first Sonic game and the one that made me a fan.
So I was just sitting and waiting at the loading screen with the "???" wondering "Which boss is this one? Mephiles? Infinite? One of the bosses from Shadow '05?"
And then out of nowhere, the opening chords to *What I'm Made Of* starts playing and nearly snapped up out of my chair knowing it could only mean one thing.
7-year-old me was SOOO happy! Not just to see and fight Metal Overlord again, but the fact that they didn't do a remix (From what I could hear) but they straight up used What I'm Made Of from Heroes!
