That singing voice of George s it is so sensor and he just sings his song so effortless. The words just go flow and he sings. A true gift and he shares it with us
1:04 is a full recording. If George were in my recording studio singing like this, I doubt I'd have to get him to repeat the song or try better next time..
WOW? I didn't realize that recording was l! His hard. 😘 Bento hear GEORGE Laugh. Also love to hear him sing. 💕 💕 💕 His VOICE & 🎵 🎶 MUSIC. Thanks for sharing!
If one were to exist you would hear George Jones struggling not to sing it to the Help Me Make it Through the Night melody. At the time he thought the words would sound better to that tune but Billy Sherrill insisted that he sing it the way it was intended.
@@antientdude1100yep, story goes Tammy just so happened to walk into the studio with her husband Richie. Tammy sat in the control room an watched, George somehow managed to finish the song on the spot. Pretty sure Billy Sherrill got Tammy to come in..
People that have never recorded in a studio will never know how cool of an experience this is. You also have to rmbr it’s costing $ by the minute. Those engineers are hearing something they don’t like, but George is spot on.Its difficult to do anything exactly the same twice. Thats prob Pig Robbins on piano. Nowadays you can punch in and punch out 1/2 of a seconds worth of sound.

Awesome vid! The best vocal take was the first one, but the background singer wasn't prepared and the bass was out of tune. Wonder how many great vocal takes, guitar solos, etc were lost forever because of the technology of the time.
Still here in 2024 and proud of it.
Awesome.Putting the artist out in front of the music.
Thank you for sharing this with us hard core country folks.
I wrote alot of songs to my Gf in H.S. and they were all shaped this way.
George was a gift from God because his pure love for us common folk was God given.
His voice just reaches down to the deepest part of your soul and pulls it out. What a gift he was.
such a loss to the country music world when he passed. glad we still have all his music to enjoy
This is a true treasury to find the master protecting his voice that can bring even the strongest person to there knees RIP GEORGE Love Ya

Every take is flawlessly done.
Priceless. ..they should have locked George in the studio during this era , his voice was so crisp and powerful , and his phrasing was immaculate !
They tried and they almost drove him nuts
This is pure country gold ❤️🔥

The story is that it was done in pieces over a year because they could get George sober enough to finish a session.

The ❤ Master.
Such a treasure. From the thumbnail, how did he sound when he was a boy singing?? Don't you wonder?
"THE MASTER."
Conway has a great version of this song and the steel guitar opening is outstanding.
Is it on here?

A foreshadow .......:(
His laugh after that was scary. Did you hear what Dee Doodle said. I think it was “I’m f&@king good.” What did you hear?
