This short and to the point video, was jam packed with helpful info. I was also happy to see yours in lecca because I Bought mine in soil and changed to lecca, seems happy but there is a leaf low and then roots above it. Don’t know if it needs chopping. I don’t want to cover the bottom leaf with lecca. What should I do? Thank you!
Hmmm that’s a tough one since the roots are above the leaf! You might have to use some Saran Wrap to coax that root down into the media while leaving the leaf exposed
They’re definitely much more dramatic and finicky. I completely killed an EXPENSIVE specimen when they were very expensive, but I have a new one which is a rooted top cutting, large form one. Let’s hope I don’t mess this one up! She’s doing great though. Hardened off after potting and waiting for the pregnant leaf to give birth! Fingers crossed.
I couldn’t find the vid that I commented on in regards to the monster show you were in in SJ. Is there a website for these shows? Also? Do you do consulting? I’m interested in getting a tent going.
hi! i use the A&B from you on my monsteras! my aurea cutting that i got in october already has a baby leaf, it was in an aroid mix when i got it, i wanna convert it to leca but i live in toronto and its winter here right now and we have very cold winters, i do supplement with grow lights and use an extra heater and humidifier in the room , would it be safe to convert it to leca right now? i really hope to hear from you.
Hey! As long as the plant remains indoors within the artificial climate you’ve created (temp, humidity, light, water temp) and isn’t exposed to the elements of outside, the plant shouldn’t know the difference. Just make sure in the conversion to use decent temperature of water (lukewarm) as to not shock the plant. Also, I would run your lights for at least 16H per day. With all that, you should be good to go! Let me know if you have other questions 😄
Careful with the bleaching on the line green sections of the leaves! And just make sure to air layer cuttings, and allow them to root adequately before cutting!
I’m so confused with my “Aurea”!!!! All the leaves are a lime green. Solid lime green and they NEVER brown. I’m not sure if it really is an Aurea? I want to propergate it to try and get some green but not really sure what to do. The leaves are also curly
@@prettyingreen The leaves are deliciousa shape but much smaller and have unfurled somewhat curled. Not sure if that’s a watering issue. It’s baffling to me. especially because it hasn’t started browning at all
I learned a lot about Aurea with your video. I thought I burned my aurea because of the nutrients. I noticed that week that the humidity in my house is drastically drop at below 50%because of the snow storm. I usually have them at 60%+. Do you think it’s the nutrient burn or the humidity drop which went down to 45%?
Awesome! I would say it’s probably the low humidity around 45% causing the browning. Nutrient burn will appear as curling leaf tips that brown on the newest growth
I use the clear orchid pots and I noticed through the pot that there is some mold (white, yellowish) in the soil amd at the bottom…..Do you have any suggestions on how to eradicate this? This is on my Thai Constellation
Try a fungicide (assuming it is bad mold). But there’s a ton of beneficial fungi, such as trichoderma that it could be! Just be careful you’re sure it’s something not beneficial 😅
I started mine from a wet stick a few months ago. It has FINALLY started taking off🙌🏻
Do they like moss poles?
Thanks for the good info. Any idea, when the cost of these plants will come down?
They’ve already come down a lot into fall/winter (3-5x) but will bump up higher in spring summer and should get close to albo maybe next year
Great videos, so informative,Thank you so much! Your plants are just beautiful!
Aww thank you so much!! Glad it was helpful 😄
Can I use the pretty in green fertilizer in leca for my Aurea? That’s what I’ve been using on my one week old cutting, it has a few small roots.
I’ve found that using silica has stopped almost all of the browning on my variegated monsteras.
That’s awesome! I need to research and try Silica again
Can you please explain a bit more ? How did u use Silica ? And where did u get it ?

@@prettyingreen I’ll need a new moss pole then. Thanks for the advice.
Great information, as always. Thanks!
You’re welcome! Thanks for checking out the video 😄

My aurea import will be arriving soon and I’m so nervous about rehabbing it! Have any tips?
