I've been hand painting for decades, this is the most informative and demonstrative explanation of painting properties I've seen in the Gunpla world yet. Your part on the strengths and weaknesses of placing the paint was inspired, it's things you develop a knack for but never think to illustrate. Perfect. Your content continues to be totally amaze-balls.

It's not sth you think about anymore, but I remember being a beginner and making all these mistakes (and smtimes pleasantly breaking rules that turned out fine)! It takes so much time to make these vids but comments like yours make it worth it! And my love is with Chaos!!! Cheers :)

No one ever explained exactly why! It makes so much sense now!! Thank you!!!

Hands down one of the best instructional videos on paint that I have EVER seen. I'm passing this along to my WarHammer friends as well because I think you bring up some great points and tips on how to approach design and paint selection. Love the examples where you point out on the parts where you would/wouldn't paint, love the drawings, easy to follow and apply in my next project.
I'm really excited you made this video, there are so many painters on UA-cam but nobody can explain what they do and why they do it in detail like you've done here.
I'm looking for ways ( techniques) to detail Action figures and I thought to come to the paining pros. I know action figures are a type of rubber but I figure the techniques are still solid. This was very informative. I also see that I should be avoiding enamel fumes 😁. I have been just using this paint as is. Its short sessions, but as you point out, safety first. thanks.
This is incredibly thorough and informative. Really above and beyond YT standards. Thanks so much for the help. It’s great to find a video that I can come back to for reference on the topic.
This video was so much fun to watch. I can wait to hand paint my first Windam. Thank you very much for this. The end results on your meticulous paint job came out amazing looking.

I learned a lot! Thank you so much for this - especially lacquer / enamel / and acrylic and the the strength of each one and where to layer. This is a must watch people trying to get into it.
The illustration's really pushed, some fuzzy knowledge through, about how to layer different paint systems and base's. It gave me the basic knowledge i wanted to learn. I lean towards lacquer and enamel based systems which most channels do not cover. cheers,

What are your preferences for topcoats on Tamiya acrylics, would testors gloss lacquer be too harsh? I'm looking for a sturdy top coat that will stand up to washes, weathering, and general protection when posing / handling a kit (gunpla)?
I sprayed lacquer over acrylic after it's fully dry and as a tacky coat only first.
