0:00 I do find it weird how only the BBFC and PEGI both rated the game 12 but most countries given it an adult/older teen rating. (The only exception being New Zealand rating it an R13) although when rereleased for newer consoles they were upgraded (15 and 18)

I feel like if the Scarface game came out when R18 was a rating, it would have gotten it. Indeed, after R18 was introduced, it's now not unheard of for even PEGI 16s to get it, like Fable Anniversary, both This is the Police games and Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition. Valkyrie Drive Bhikkuni and Deathsmiles even got banned outright by the ACB, when PEGI rated them 16 and 12 respectively.

@@redscyther7725 All because R18 wasn’t used for games back then in Australia, only films and shows had it before 2013 or 2014 (can’t exactly remember).

2013, I think. Maybe even late 2012. A Mortal Kombat 2011 re-release and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge were the first ones, I think.
Bizarrely enough, MA15 wasn't a rating at all before a point either (forgot when). Predator 2 had to be cut for an M from an R18, for instance.
