PC Recruitment: The realities of becoming a police officer

A career as a police officer is one of the most varied you can have - and also one of the most challenging.
Long shifts, cancelled rest days, a difficult work-life balance, and throwing yourself into the middle of extremely volatile situations with the aim of protecting society's most vulnerable... these are the realities of being a PC.
But it's also incredibly rewarding.
We've just opened up for recruitment onto the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) course. This sees officers earning a degree alongside working as a regular officer. It's no easy task, but the job at the end of it truly is like no other.
To help prospective candidates make a choice about whether it's the career for them, we've put together this short video featuring two of our newer PCs.
