Lol, easy quick question. Where was Lazarus at when he was dead? Because when people ask Jesus were Lazarus was jesus's first response was he was asleep. And of course when Lazarus came back he never spoke of being anywhere. So right there Jesus backed up Ecclesiastes in the Bible when he said it is though you're asleep in death. Does saying the Divine Mercy for someone who is dying save then from.going to hell? and then they pay for .their mortal sin in purgarory
Absolutely not. Read John's gospel chapter 1 v 12 and 13. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the children of God, even to them that believe ON his name. Who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of men, but of God. - That means becoming a Christian is not through birth or family, nor through your own desires in the flesh, nor through priests or men, but only when of God by the Spirit of God. There is no purgatory, but if there was, if you are saved by God then what is the point of purgatory when you go straight to Heaven with Christ. 2 Corinthians ch. 5 v 8. Read and believe.
Purgatory is not a place. It's a state of being.
I believe the reference of 1 cor. 3:15 is an intellectually dishonest assertion of what that text means.
1 cor 3:15 reasoning for this to be referring to purgatory??
Lol, easy quick question. Where was Lazarus at when he was dead? Because when people ask Jesus were Lazarus was jesus's first response was he was asleep. And of course when Lazarus came back he never spoke of being anywhere. So right there Jesus backed up Ecclesiastes in the Bible when he said it is though you're asleep in death. Nowhere in the Bible does it promote when you die you're setting somewhere waiting. Where does that teaching come from? Because I truly don't think the God that I believe in would charge you money or possessions to get out of a place after you die like the Catholics promote.
Excellent comment bringing up Lazarus.
@@eve3363 I felt like that was relevant. Most certainly no one in the Catholic Church talks about that. I recently heard that Catholics are starting to give the okay on being cremated. Romans 8:17 is speaking of the flesh when it comes to suffering. Not this “purgatory”, Catholics created this idea no where in the Bible does it say we will go to purgatory. God is very clear in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-8.

Naysayers might want to read Maccabees.
Maccabees is not recognized as being part of the sacred Scriptures.

Yes it is

Okay, let’s take that route.
Maccabees isn’t part of scripture.
Purgatory is discussed in corthinians and Mathews.
Please look into what you're saying. The apocrypha books were included in the original manuscripts of the bible not as a part of the bible itself, but as a reference point. They were without a doubt NOT to be looked at as scripture. People later added those book and acted like they were to be taken as scripture. They are taking advantage of you, decieving you. Do not let your ears be tickled. Have a genuine desire for truth above all else.

in purgatory there are people that have fangs on their teeth and if you are not careful they will bite you, but its ok because many will see the other side of the gate, when row call begins, they do say that peoples teeth will be shattering, I asked onse what if one dies with no teeth, they said that TEETH WILL BE PROVIDED. and if one dies with no legs then legs will be provided so they can bow their knee to marry and John Paul old pope that past away.

Purgatory is false doctrine and in contradiction to the Gospel. Romans 3:21-26.

Well the answer is obvious,as purgatory cant be found in the new testament, nothing at all.jesus did not suffer and die to provide a waiting room of discomfort for all those who have not seen but believe ,that he calls blessed.
You are Peter and on this rock I will build my church not churches church

@@jacobidoko3924 Where to start…John 3 16-18, John 3 36, Matthew 25:46, Matthew 7 13-14…Plus all the Pauline passages about grace and faith…to many to list. I do understand tradition will refute these as Christ handed the keys to Peter. It’s really pointless to argue. I don’t. Just use scripture. Either way, belief in Chris is key.
@TheSilentKnight yes, I don’t understand. That’s the issue. My friend built an altar to/of IDK to Guadalupe…Said prayers…because the pope gave a plenary indulgence. She gave me a article stating if you do these things to remove temporal sins. Idk. At least she didn’t have to pay. She does pay for masses for her mom. Again, you are right, I don’t understand
@TheSilentKnight I will say I watch videos and listen to EWTN to try and understand
@TheSilentKnight does she get something since the pope gave an indulgence? What does her mom get for the check she cuts to the parish. We include whoever we need to pray for at service at our church, we don’t pay though. Just confused
My Protestant mind REALLY recoils at this…I’m making progress, but I’m not there yet. I’ve also been wondering if a person would need to be born again “again” after mortal sin…Can a person be “born again” repeatedly in this life? That would seem ridiculous.
Mike Winger goes over these texts in detail. Your mind recoils at the thought of Purgatory because its not true.
Your mind recoils because of your protestant background.
However, you are on the right track. Don’t take my word for it though, keep asking questions and looking for materials that help in addressing those questions.
I should also add that this video (in my opinion) didn’t do so well in addressing the question, though this channel is great. They have other videos on purgatory that are much better than this one. So during your quest, there might be some people or materials that might not necessarily hit the mark in addressing your questions. So make sure you are inquiring from various sources.
As a recent Catholic who was formerly Protestant, i went through a similar process.

Purgatory exists so we don't just get saved, go do whatever we want afterwards, and still expect to go ro Heaven immediately. It's not that difficult to understand.
In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul speaks fo the fonal generation, of those alive at the second coming of Christ. It says we shall be changed in an instant, in the twinkling of an eye. If God can do that, the resurrection of the body, in an instant, He can surely do the final cleansing of the soul in an instant. The good news of the gospel is to say you have nothing to fear in death. Purgatory robs you of that.
@@EmmaBerger-ov9ni No it doesn't. The Gospel is the first four verses on 1 Corinthians 15.
