I'm always amazed by the beauty of that countryside! Those steps approaching checkpoint 3 looked rough! LOL! But then the hills afterward were brutal, but stunning! COngratulations on reaching that finish line!
Thanks for sharing your experience, that really took me back! A friend from work who grew up in Edale, invited me to do the Edale Skyline with him. I'd done a fair bit of road running, but never done a fell race and was more than a bit worried, especially having seen photos of the conditions for previous years. It rained solidly for days, right up until the night before our race, but on the day of the race it was fabulous. Probably the hardest, but most scenic run I've ever done. Well done for pushing on and finishing this race in what was still a very respectable time ...and good luck improving on it next year! 👍
Thanks Rory, looking forwards to next year and seeing what improvement can be made with some more appropriate training 🤣. Hope the ankles coming on well
Haha, cheers. Haven't hit the wall like that in a very long time, reckon I could take 10 min off the time fairly easily if I'd actually done some distance training 😉
Mate i know that feeling glad you pushed on to finish & still got a decent position. I recognize that sound of heal striking and the flat of your feet slamming down that says tired legs , sounds like you've learnt from this and will take it into your training sessions. Good luck in future and i hope to bump into you one day on the hills.
Sitting in the comfort of the Rothiemurchus Forest after a big day walking part way up the Lairig Ghru and then round Loch Morlich (you may remember me carrying a bike following you the other year 😯) this looked like a serious effort and considerable achievement: as ever, the 'being there' sensation so real and real pleasure to watch. Keep it up! E&D

Cheers 👍 It really is stunning round there. Yep they were an absolute bugger 😆
Brilliant running. It's interesting for me to watch it from your - faster runner's - perspective. Nice to see the course of the race.
Thanks Olga. Might of been faster to start with but definitely didn't end that way 😂. It's a lovely course but the constant up and down was brutal.
@@DM_RUNNING it's all faster for me, as I always come last :-) Weldone, Daniel. What club do you run for?
Knaresborough striders, we're not generally known for our hills

Different kettle of fish isn't it, but really worth it. Edale skyline is on the hit list, looks like another great race 😁
You sounded completely spent on round hill! Massive respect for pushing to the end 👏
Haha, yep, still had a bit in the tank at this point but was well aware of how hard it was gonna get and hadn't even hit the big hills at this point!!
Great vid Dan and well done, bloody good effort on a tough course!

Looks like you did ok to me. Good effort.

It's a killer isn't it, can't remember last time I hit the wall like that on a run.
Guessing you're not a Yorkshire runner?

Certainly do remember, big efforts all round! Any snow up there at the mo?
