Grandmas in Brazil gives you propolis for EVERYTHING. From an ingrown nail to strep throat! Haahahahaha. I have warm memories of it. Thank you for sharing this information on propolis. I will be collecting it from my hive from now on. I've learned so much from you. Keep up the good work!!💖🐝
You could try using a magnetic stir/hot plate to make your tincture. You could probably get it done in a few hours. I use them in a lab and they can make short work of tasks like that.
Much of our medicine comes from nature, or is synthesized forms of natural chemicals. That's why honey is so vital. The bees collect all that goodness from flowers and condense it. We're making honey taffy right now actually. :o)
As a long time beekeeper who also makes propolis tincture, this is a fabulous video and your videography is fantastic. Sorry for the mousy. Happened to me to and so that hive is now know as my "mousoleum" :)
I used propolis for a huge wart I had on my thumb that the doctor wouldn’t touch because it was growing into my nail. Well, I no longer have a wart at all, nor do I have a scar 🥰
Phenomenal!!!! So informative!! With all my research on my bees I haven’t ventured into propolis 🤷🏻♀️ 🤪 - Thank You!! I do use my straight up honey for healing - gotta zit put honey on it - a burn or a cut it will heal in just a couple of days and basically no scaring. Now I’m excited to save any propolis I have to remove from my hives🤗
I wish I had my own home so that I could raise bees. I looked it up and at least the raw, unfiltered, unpasteurized honey contains a bit of propolis, so I'll still get some benefits. Had a spoonful of the wildflower honey today. Just started compiling everything I'm learning in a notebook. I dedicated the first portion to Vitamins (going through each and explaining what they do and what dietary source they are) and Minerals (same). Then I go into the herbs and plants. I'm still on Vitamins. This part was important to me so that I can formulate my meals for optimal nutrition (I'm doing low carb due to my insulin resistance/pre-diabetes so I have to make sure I get all my nutrients -- also my doctor just did labs and everything's great!). I was feeling a bit weak and realized looked in my notebook and saw some symptoms I was experiencing were related to folate and b12 so I had a zespri sungold kiwifruit (has TONS of nutrients! including those two) and also a spoonful of honey and drank a cup of water and I feel better. Earlier for dinner I had corned beef with fresh green beans and added walnuts and creme fraiche along with a spoonful of perilla leaves that I've been soaking in organic white wine vinegar to preserve them, but also to get the nutrients. They're supposed to be really good as a medicinal as well. Which is good, because I think I've come down with a stomach bug or something. According to NCBI NLM NIH GOV "Perilla has traditionally been prescribed to treat depression-related disease, anxiety, asthma, chest stuffiness, vomiting, coughs, colds, flus, phlegm, tumors, allergies, intoxication, fever, headache, stuffy nose, constipation, abdominal pain, and indigestion, and acts as an analgesic, anti-abortive agent, and a sedative." I usually get them at the Korean market, H-Mart. If you don't know them, they're large leaves that are green and the other side is like greenish purple (kind of like Thai basil), and has a taste between mint and basil. They have LOTS of vitamins and minerals. It also goes on to say, "Until now, 271 natural molecules have been identified in perilla organs including phenolic acids, flavonoids, essential oils, triterpenes, carotenoids, phytosterols, fatty acids, tocopherols, and policosanols. In addition to solvent extracts, these individual compounds (rosmarinic acid, perillaldehyde, luteolin, apigenin, tormentic acid, and isoegomaketone) have attracted researchers’ interest for its pharmacological properties. Perilla showed various biological activities such as antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-allergic, antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, and neuroprotection effects". www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6337106/#:~:text=Perilla%20has%20traditionally%20been%20prescribed,anti%2Dabortive%20agent%2C%20and%20a

Hi
I don't mean to be disrespectful, but propolis tincture, if is not diluted right, its value goes to "zero" and I will explain why
I am a third generation beekeeper that come from one of the european countries, so I inherited quite a lot of info, in this particular case about propolis; I go by grams, don't use parts or any other measure, there is a reason why they call propolis 30%, 40%, may it be less, or more %, but I never go less than 30%-35% propolis and I calculate when I dilute in 200 proof or 95-100% alchool, not votka that is 50% alchool, and that mix with less alchool % to bring it to an average of 70% alchool and dilution.
If not extracted in 95% alchool or higher, you waste about 50-60% of your propolis, that 50% Votka is simply not strong enough to do the job;
I sell propolis tincture in large quantities to my costumers, I educate them how to use the tincture, may it be mixed in a jar of honey or just in drops doses, one should keep in mind, propolis tincture is used for different therapies in different doses, but the discussion about propolis benefits is a good thing you got going on.
