I could watch Donna Jordan all day long. I am just starting to sew and I am sewing quilts to how Donna teaches. I find her so easy to understand. I love her UA-cam creations. I am sorry for your loss. We loss a wonderful quilter.
Orange was really pretty...loved the vibrancy.....BUT, my absolute favorite.....BLACK!! It really makes the colors pop!! I really enjoy watching, and learning, from your videos. I am a beginner, in fact, I am just finishing up my 3rd quilt. Never too old to learn....I just turned 70!
Donna, this is a fun tutorial. I love that you brought the viewer in and walked us through the process of picking a background fabric. All of those backgrounds worked. My preference is the bright yellow. The black background fabric worked beautifully with the color of the quilting thread. As always, thank you for sharing these wonderful tutorials and free patterns.
My favorite background is the orange! It's got so much energy to donate to the look, and the blocks seem to jump off the background as a result. Thank you so much for all these wonderful quilts!
Hi Donna I am big fan of you isee every tutorials of you and try to make some thing I am from India I like you so much I wish to meet you I would like the orange back ground ❤️❤️❤️
I would have picked the orange too. The orange gives it a Caribbean look. Thanks for the pattern. I have these charms so off to the sewing room I go 😌.
When I first saw a thumbnail of this quilt, I was hooked. I recently ordered some yardage of black fabric to use in a background for a colorful quilt, but I saw this, and was in love. Thank you so much for the beautiful design, and the instructions .
I love these UA-cam videos from Jordan fabric. They don’t skip a lot of steps and they teach you what to with leftover fabric. They get right to the point. Unlike most videos, there is usually No music before, during or after the videos. I let them play all night long and I don’t have worry about loud music and sounds at the beginning of each new video waking up my husband. Well, there are the commercials, but I skip them ASAP.
I also love the fact that she doesn't try to be a celeb like so many others on here. As you say, they have to do all their cutesy self-promotion for the first ten minutes, then rush through the instructions. I'm too old to enjoy antics. Donna has the experience, too, which many up-and-comers lack. I look forward to each new video from her, and often recommend her to my friends who prefer substance to giggles and vapor.
$11.99 per month and you will never get a commercial again. I absolutely love UA-cam premium. I personally watch more UA-cam than cable TV. It’s my “budget” for my entertainment. Love Donna too!
Please can you tell me how big are the blocks when you start the project, because I have material so I can cut it my self? I love the blue , but the black brings the colour all out!
I liked the bright orange! I like bright colors (my wife, not so much). I love Donna and Matt’s videos! I’ve learned so much from watching about new ideas!
What a great tutorial Donna! I especially thank you for showing how to measure background, sides, and corners. The Mix & MATCH QUILT Is fabulous! That black background really stood out to me as one of your brightest quilts yet! It just popped! Thank you for for the best tutorials! You're amazing! This West Texas gal is learning so much from you! P.S. Love your nails! You have such pretty hands and your nails are painted to compliment the quilt colors! Keep up the good work! You and Matt are making such a difference to so many through your work!! God bless y'all!
The orange background said “kid’s quilt” to me, but thought black was best. The blue seemed “eh” to me. Wonderful that you explained how to calculate setting, corner and side setting pieces! You’re a fantastic teacher.
I immediately thought “black” when you were holding the bolts but after you laid them out I was surprised to see that orange was so beautiful with the blocks! Orange it is!
So for me, I really jived with the light blue batik print! I thought Donna would pick that one because she came alive when talking about it and how pleasantly surprised she was with how it set off the blocks. She had me convinced! And I thought she would go that way. I almost turned off the video when she went with the black. Boo hoo! 😣🙃
I would have chosen the blue background but the black is stunning! I love how you show quilts in different fabric options. It’s amazing how different they look.
Black background makes each block into a jewel, well displayed. I will definitely download this for future use! What a wonderful video, thank you! This one will be so much fun!
As much as I like the black background, I loved them on the orange fabric. Talk about vibrant! I also really loved that yellow batik that you put on the back.
This is gorgeous. I so appreciate you explaining set in triangle math. And absolutely adore the table runner. Love the bright yellow 'bubbles' quilting... Just perfect! Thank you so much for this one! 🌸
I love them all but wow does it change the effectiveness of the patchwork. I think I like the blue pattern one. Lovely tutorial as always. Thank you Donna
Hi Donna-Love the quilt but I'm into table runners right now. Was waiting for you to talk about the table runner pictured. Love all of your videos and all that you teach us everyday-you are the best. Pat Wahl
The background color is a very hard choice. If the quilt was for a boy, I would go for the blue. I like both the orange and black as they tend to make the blocks look brighter and jeweled. I would go for the orange as it is a warm color. Thanks Donna.
Just made this with 10" squares cut from yardage instead of a charm pack and it is stunning! 4 batiks in the diamonds and black and gold batik for the background.
Thank you so much for teaching me 🥰🥰😍😍 love you... I am new your subscriber and I am from Malaysia 🇲🇾♥️ Thank you a lot Mrs Donna. All the best for you 👍🏻👍🏻😍🌹
Finally, those side and corner triangles explained! Thank you! I love the quilt and have planned on making something similar for a long time - so thank you for the free pattern, too! 🥰
Black absolutely! Just yesterday I bought my first fabric from your shop. You saved my day I was looking for a Kaufman batik I could not find anywhere until I went on your website. I'm so happy, now I can finish my quilt!
Deborah, there are also lots of free charts available on the internet which list both the setting triangles (i.e. the ones down the sides) and the corner triangles, for quilt block sizes from small to large -- usually in increments of 1/4", so it will cover any size blocks that you'd like to put on point. The math has already been done for you!
Hi Donna just love love love watching you work have been quilting since 1997 and still find that I can learn something new every day, I live in Western Australia regards Rosalie.
It was great to see you use something other than a light background... the black really makes the colors pop! I make quilts to use, and light colors stain so easily with kids and pets, lol.
Learned so much from this video!!! Thank you so much for breaking it all down for us! I always look forward to your videos and the beautiful quilts you make!
I immediately thought blue, when she pulled out the bolts. But they all were pretty. And not having a background gave the secondary design which was really cool
Wouldn't it be fun to hang out at the quilt shop with Donna as she doès a tutorial!
She is so talented.
I like them all but lean a bit towards the blue. Thanks for your tutorials; I learn so much from you and love all your quilts.
I would never leave- have food delivered!!!
@@gerrimcleod5217 I agree with your comment, 100%!
Yes that is a dream of mine every time we drive through Grant's Pass
I would love to sit and sew with her for a weekend.
My first choice would be black but that orange was very cool 😎
I would be the light blue - love it ⭐️
I love the light blue

Orange and black were my favourite backgrounds. You will notice that I put an extra "u" in favourite... Hello from Canada! Love you Donna!
The orange background would make IT brighter. Absolutely I prefer this. Congratulations from ARGENTINA

Me too Rhonda.
She would be my best friend!!!! 😍😍😍
I was thinking the same thing! Lol
Ditto. I would love to trek across the country and meet her and go to their shop!
@Rhonda M. Well, then I think YOU could be MY best friend if we lived in the same town! 😄

I liked the orange
Black, definitely! The patchwork looks like jewels.
I would do the orange, and I don't even like orange 😁 but that was very beautyful. 😊
When I first saw a thumbnail of this quilt, I was hooked. I recently ordered some yardage of black fabric to use in a background for a colorful quilt, but I saw this, and was in love. Thank you so much for the beautiful design, and the instructions .
I think Donna is a great Teacher as I am learning how to quilt and am enjoying the process.

I agree
Love the orange! Makes it look very Mexican for some reason. Beautiful in all colour ways, but def orange for me☺️Thanks Donna 💕🇦🇺

What an amazing quilt Donna. I really enjoy your thorough tutorials 😚😚 Love from Melbourne, Australia ❤
It’s been a long cold spring, so the orange really made me smile and feel summer hope. They are all beautiful.
I would pick the orange
Orange background was my favorite with the blue thread for quilting. Great job on both teaching and quilt designing.
I think I would go with the blue background. It's again a super nice quilt. Thanks Donna.
I like the orange first, then the black. Very nice colorful quilt.
Black is my favorite! Those vibrant colors show their personality with the background. 😊
I'm going to play odd man out and suggest a nice gray! Lovely pattern...Thank you Donna Jordan!!
I love grey
I would’ve definitely picked the black background also. Really makes those blocks pop.
Definitely the best choice. The orange was a close second!
The black adds pop to the bright colors
Black looks the best!
Please can you tell me how big are the blocks when you start the project, because I have material so I can cut it my self?
I love the blue , but the black brings the colour all out!
@@antoinettefarrugia6820 Donna uses charm squares. Those are 5 inches.
The orange is so cheery and bright. Very blended, too.
loved the blue it really complimented the blocks and the orange was nice too.
I liked the bright orange! I like bright colors (my wife, not so much). I love Donna and Matt’s videos! I’ve learned so much from watching about new ideas!

Normally I would choose the black which is my go to, but this time, I would go with the white. What a surprise!
Outstanding, Donna!. On point, bold blocks, batiks and on a black background all make this a winner winner, chicken dinner! Yeah!
I really like the orange. Love all the bright colors. Thank you for the pattern.
Oh wow I love these colours but it would have to the orange background for me.
Thank you for another brilliant tutorial xx
The orange background said “kid’s quilt” to me, but thought black was best. The blue seemed “eh” to me.

I don't know why, but i'm really partial to the blue background, but all are so pretty!
So pleased you picked the black background. This is a lovely cheerful pattern. I wonder how it would look with Kaffe Fasset fabrics.
Was wondering the same thing. I have some many of his charm packets.....I think they will look as beautiful!
I think it’d look sumptuous
The blue leafy fabric is my pick for background. It seems soothing.
the orange and black each made the patches show up more. if I had my wish it would be to spend a day watching Donna work
Your tutorials are amazing, easy to understand. Your quilts are just stunning. Thank you.

I really like the pattern on the blue, I'm not a black background person. Just love the colors on the blocks.
I love the calming cool blue background.💖What a great pattern! Thank you!
I love how the Black brings out the colors...
Hi, Donna, I would do the blue, because it makes the busy blocks settle down. I like a quilt to be calm.👍🥰
As much as I like the black background, I loved them on the orange fabric. Talk about vibrant! I also really loved that yellow batik that you put on the back.
Donna, you make me fall in love with quilting every time.
You are always an awesome instructor with a soft voice . I wish there was more showing how you do your quilting. Thank you so much
This is gorgeous. I so appreciate you explaining set in triangle math. And absolutely adore the table runner. Love the bright yellow 'bubbles' quilting... Just perfect! Thank you so much for this one! 🌸
I'd pick the black as well, but the blue would be my second choice. The quilt is beautiful!
Me encanta en negro, me gustan mucho los videos de Jordan fabrics. Gracias por compartir .❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗😘
I have a random set of three charm packs that have been sitting around forever! Now I know what to do with them 😊

Orange for me too. It was so vibrant.
I love them all but wow does it change the effectiveness of the patchwork. I think I like the blue pattern one. Lovely tutorial as always. Thank you Donna

Yay!!! Love when you post a new video!
I love the black background❣️
I would love to do the orange background for a younger teenage boy! It’s such a different choice from the usual blue or gray for a young man.
I like black the best. It shows off all the colors so well
