I'm curious, do any of my older videos ever show up in your recommend's aside from the four or five that Susan promotes ad nauseam (Led Zep, Deep Purple, UB40, Rush, Eberhard Weber)?
@@arnaudb.7669 I think the only way to change that is to get more of my older videos drummed up into the 4-digit view count. The recommended page (home page) is everything on YT because most users never click on their subscriptions tab, nor do they click on people's channels and scroll through channel video archives.
@@ZaragonTrimaximalist You used to show up every couple of days in the recommends and/or algorithm, but for the last 6 months or so you have not been showing up.
@@saulaac2971 I recently came to the realization that the type of videos I was doing - talking into a smartphone then uploading the results at 720p with no editing - no longer get promoted by YT's artificial intelligence. That's an early 2010s model of channel growth. Nowadays, everything has to have a fancy background and/or jump-cut imagery. Thumbnails must point to something mysterious or shocking. Titles must pose a provocative question.

I have a request and am wondering if you could help. I listen to a lot of UK comedy both past and present, and one such comedian, Rhys Thomas (writer/producer of the spoof call-in show "Down The Line"), posted the following link on his YT page. He is asking if anyone knows who this band is, from 1995-1997: ua-cam.com/video/DEZbRESnoro/v-deo.html. Would you have any idea who this is? Given the professionalism of the musicians, I guess he is being serious!

I've recently worked on pages on Led Zeppelin, The Move, Stackridge, Esperanto, Greenslade, Stealers Wheel, Curved Air, Jody Grind, the Dave Stewart odyssey (Arzachel, Egg, Hatfield, National Health, Bruford)... that's just in the past month. Right now I'm writing the Be-Bop Deluxe page. I hope to have as many developed as possible by my 50th birthday (16 months from now).
In recent months I've been writing the long-discography bios on JazzRockSoul.com like Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Genesis, Thin Lizzy, King Crimson, Split Enz, Sparks, Queen, Supertramp, Hawkwind, Van der Graaf Generator, Manfred Mann's Earth Band, etc. Those take 10-15 days each, as opposed to all the 1-3 album acts, which I can finish in 1-2 days. I hope to have the database ready for primetime by 2025. I stopped making vidz because Susan wasn't showing my channel to people. My last long upload got 800 impressions... a video needs 50k impressions to have a fair shake. It was absurd considering my thumbnails were generating 5% click-through and I already had 1.5k subs. They now say the shorts format has made organic growth possible again, which I'm considering.
