I just rode the Gazelle Arroyo C8 and its so comfortable. I dropped off a package at UPS, then rode up hill to snag a coffee in Griffith Park. It felt like I was riding in a 53 Cadillac Eldorado! Great review Scott!

My next bike will be Gazelle Arroyo C5 HMB Elite 2023. Now it got Bosch Performance Line (75Nm) and 5 Shimano Nexus.

That adjustable stem that allows you to instantly adjust the stem position and handle bar roll is genius!

I have the 2019 model and have ridden it where maybe I shouldn't. I even had it on a single track trail. I've had no problems with it and have 3100 miles so far. That headlight works great at night. I did take off the chain guard because cleaning and lubing the chain was a pain and the plastic piece that you have to remove broke. I duct taped it back on for a while.

A really nice looking bike…comfy features and specs for a good price point. Gazelle does a great job!

The price point is really impressive. Bosch reliability for under $4k? Sign me up!

Recognize your neighborhood, just north of the tunnel I used to live in Thornhill Canyon on Heather ridge south of the tunnel in Montclairriden down your street in my car and old bike many times. I got a ride1up now and have to try it on your hill.
My very first real was a gazelle standard english style racer with a 3 speed transmission in the rear hub that magically shifted gears with some kind of magic metal balls. Those slipped from time to time and it was better if you weren't standing when it happened. I loved that bike . I rode it all over NYC when I was a teen. I wish I had the one that you just showed. Thanks for the video. 👌😎👍

Great review! I've gotta take one of these out for a spin. Been thinking about using for my small commute.

It'd be the perfect bike for that! Might not even have to charge more than once a week.

That might be the most relaxed positioned bike I've ever seen. Any more upright and you'd be riding backwards. Looks comfy though

Haha! I gotta say, I'm not normally an upright rider, but I did love it!

Purchase a Gazelle Ultimate c8 step through belt drive for my wife with a 20 mph assist and I purchased the high step Gazelle C380 + with a peddle assist speed of 28 mph
They feel like a real bike when the electric motor is engaged.
My wife is 55 and I am 58 mph.
I have bikes to my work which was 28 miles and arrived fresh ready for my office job.

Nice review. Does the Arroyo's have a chain or belt drive? I didn't see it mentioned in your spec.s or even on Gazelle's website.
So Gazelle now has many step thru bikes between the Arroyo C7 & C8, Ultimate C8 & C380 & T10. Not to mention the Medeo low steps. Sure making it either confusing or you could say lots of choices. Might make a good video to compare the choices.

Hi Bryan, it's a chain drive. The main differentiator for the Arroyo from the other low step bikes in the Gazelle fleet is the geometry and the subsequent seating position. The Arroyo is our only true Easy, super upright positioned bike.

      @FlyRidesUSA  2 роки тому +1

Hey Bryan! So the Arroyo series are all going to be chain driven whereas the Ultimates are going to upgrade you to that Gates Carbon Belt Drive. The only exception would be that T10+, which is going to be a Speed motor (28 mph) and has a chain. Hope that helps, and thanks for watching!

Bonjour, I have an Arroyo C8 and love it. Is there a video showing how to remove the rear wheel? Merci Patrice

It’s not a wave frame it’s a Oma fiets… it also be noted that Dutch bikes are powered and geared for flat terrain and that they do struggle a bit on hills. They are much lighter weight than their American counter parts. I know I lived in the Netherlands for many years and owned a gazelle. This bike is built to last and I mean last a lifetime. The company has been around for 120 years. The other thing those rear racks are strong enough to hold a medium to lightweight person on the back. They are slower bikes but then again the trade off they are slower and go a little less miles then American versions. However the American versions are much heavier overall so pick your poison as heavy bike also means if you run out of battery the American bike it going to be tough to pedal with no power the gazelle will feel pretty close to a regular bike do to how light it is. Also the low maintenance on the gazelle is far superior than an American ebike. So base your choice on those merits.

When I went to check out the European version of the Arroyo Elite (called Grenoble over here) it didn't wow me... The models offered where the c7 (Shimano 7speed) with a chain drive and same motor to the one in this video, a c5 (Shimano 5speed designed for ebikes) with a performance line motor and a c380 (Enviolo TR) with a performance line motor and a chain drive....
All had a monoshock front suspension system which failed to impress me while testriding them, visually they also failed.
Luckily for me there was an Ultimate C380 model that really grabbed me, it has the performance line motor, Gates belt drive and a SR suntour front suspension on it. I took delivery of it last week and it's absolutely breathtaking!
A bit of a suprise on delivery: there was a delivery issue with the Shimano MT420 brakes to the Gazelle factory, so I received Magura CT 4 fm brakesystem with 180mm rotors front and back which I don't mind and is probably an upgrade...

It seems to me that the LeMond Dutch ebike is better? Lighter, faster, better looking, and about the same price.

Hey, you are in my old neighborhood! The Hollywood Dell was home for years, Quebec + Creston. Walked all those streets and secret stairs! Yes I have a Arroyo C8 and have ridden some 3200 miles before pandemic around Seattle. Rented an IZip (step-thru also) and was hooked. Looked at several but the Arroyo was THE winner and champ! Oh, and here is (hopefully) an article I wrote for Gazelle's Blog: www.gazellebikes.com/en-us/blog/matthews-arroyo-c8-ebike-rider-interview Thanks mate, good review!
