Hello, I'm in the market for a drum mower similar size to this, how high off the ground do you have it adjusted to? My ground isn't perfectly flat and I do have some pebbles and small rocks in certain parts of my field that I definitely do not want in my baler. Is the adjuster actually numbered telling you how many inches you're off the ground or you go by feel? Our neighbor has his mower conditioner and rocks are shot flying every time he did our field (no longer will) so I'm just really wanting to know what a good and safe clearance off the ground I should aim for. Thanks for the demo!
Kubota offers three skid shoe options. You may want to go with the 80mm (tallest set to get the cutter bar up then play with the pitch to drop your cutting height. Our fields are a little rough but no threat of rocks so we generally run the 40mm skids. Good luck
Nice upload, Not my cup of tea with your mower though, windrow too wide meaning your driving on the cut crop, not good, that swath bar looks like it’s bunching up the crop as well, l have the Kuhn gdm 700 disc mower, it too had that swath bar, removed that straight away as it was causing problems, but at least my mower made a nice narrow window.
I don't run a tedder so i leave it out wide to spread things out nicely. You can easily narrow it up with a 30 second adjustment. The rake will take care of making a nice windrow later.
