- Here is an inexpensive alternative to the beautiful and attractive Amouage Reflection Man. I observed in my head to head comparison that they are very close.

I enjoyed this review and had the opportunity to acquire a small sample of it. When you smell Reflection Man, you don't immediately get the "Man" aspect of it. Its opening is quite flowery and powdery, but thereafter and during the dry-down, it starts to show it's quality just like "Reflection". When one does the latter, you have to take your time in contemplation, developing many thoughts into one coherent consideration. That's how Reflection Man works; it starts off perplexing and it ends with amazing clarity that the one who wears it is both enigmatic and sublime. This is a very fine scent befitting a gentleman, and only a lady will appreciate it on you....trust me.

I remember hearing a lot about Amouage Reflection Man about a year ago, so I bought a small 2ml sample online to try it out. The second I smelt it for the first time, it was an instant favourite. It was clean, fresh, powdery without being overwhelming, it had a rich sparkly tone to it that made me feel like a millionaire when I'd wear it. I had to buy the full 100ml bottle.
I found 100ml online on a website called Notino, which I'd never used before but they had good customer reviews. I think I paid about £160 for the 100ml. When I finally received it, it just wasn't the same fragrance as the sample I had smelt before. As far as I could tell, it still had the same notes, but it was flat compared to the fizziness of the sample I previously bought. It was comparable to a fresh fizzy champagne to a shaken flat champagne. It just didn't have that pop that I was expecting. I was suspicious that the bottle was a counterfeit, but everyone else who'd bought Reflection from Notino had left positive feedback. I bought another 2ml sample on eBay to be sure I wasn't going crazy and the sample was the exact same as the 100ml bottle from Notino! It was flat and just wasn't the same as the first sample I'd bought and fell in love with. So then I began to suspect that it could be that the first sample may have been "made in Oman" rather than the reformulated version "made in UK"(non-magnetic cap vs magnetic), which I'd heard about online.
Have you had these same issues at all? I've been wondering whether I should try buying the 100ml from a reputable company the next time and just paying the full retail price, as that may solve my issue?
You maybe had a sample of an older stronger batch. Notino is trustworthy, I bought about 10 fragrances from Notino and all are originals.

I love Reflection Man on me because it agrees with my body chemistry and the ladies love when I wear it, but I bought The Run Way, and I get the same feeling and pretty much the same reactions. I've sampled reflection and own the runway. The runway is more rough in the opening. Overall reflection smells of higher quality (obviously) smoother and more refined. The runway is still a good representation.

Because of my recent acquisition of Reflection, my only Amouage, I have found my strong liking towards Jasmine. Now, I'm left with the task of finding appropriate occasions for this clean, sophisticated scent...maybe, at one of our upscale restaurants along the beach, during a date in fall or winter..and that's only if, the lovely lady can carry a conversation past subjects such as yoga, hiking, children/Grand kids....Hmmm... Hell !..I'll just spray it to go to the bank and supermarket!
