Total delight! Side note: Sorry mom we talked about drugs on tv (again).
Loved the Trailer, can’t wait to see it!
💗💗
From one NorCal kid to another, y’all are awesome!
Loved your Tales from the Trip!
@@publicuser2534 they are from Calgary....
Love the album and the show so much
I decided to watch this interview because I was so confused how twins in their early twenties could write a memoir about high school. I was thinking like they still have not lived life. Then I looked up their ages and these twins are 41!!!! WHAT! They look like 19 year olds!
WTF!!!!
Not sure I get it - BUT the fact that you started your comment with "I decided to watch this interview because..." is pricelessly chef's kissy.
@@kenster8270 I don't get why that's a chef's kiss
@@merlinthegray Me either 💀
Wait till you see their mum. She looks 35 at the most 😂
I've noticed that in interviews Tegan always says something to let the audience know who's who. She's really subtle about it, too.
They both do, just Sara is even more subtle. :)
Intersting, nice that you caught that. I'm always baffled that there's appearently many people who can't tell them apart. Of course if somebody doesn't know them they have to be told which one is which, but other than that they have very distinct different features imho.
How nice to see Tegan and Sara get recognition for their work.
I love it when Seth really laughs 👍
These two were hilariously real and he enjoyed their humor. Hah, me too 😂
Started listening to their stuff in the 00s. Super talented and down to earth people. Great to see them having so much success.
Yeah I listened to their first few albums nonstop. Even caught them live a handful of times.
They were literally born in the 2000s 😭
@@gennadicole7102 uhhh dude they were born in the 80's. They're in their 40's.
@@dipperdandy kiss my ass
They are so funny 😂 Can’t wait to see the show.
They're also really funny on an episode of the Comedy Bang Bang tv show (improv). It's on the youtubes somewhere.
Is their show on network tv?
I was in middle school during the MySpace era when I first heard of them. “Back in your head” has always been a song I go back to
I had just started high school and I remember that era well
Oh wow you just unlocked a memory for me. Back In Your Head was definitely my MySpace profile song 💕
Absolutely love Tegan and Sara! Much respect for the truths (and possible exaggerations) they've written and sang for twins, the queer community, and lovers. I know they don't want to be the "Queens of Queer Music," but they represent an era, or genre, of artistry that queer teens and adults find solace in. And for me, I have found friendship and sisterhood in coming to terms with my sexuality and gender. I think I can safely say they have done the same for many others who see Tegan and Sara as a cornerstone for understanding and accepting themselves. So thank you, Seth, for bringing attention to these fucking legends! And thank you again to my besties, Tegan and Sara, for signing my Chucks at the High School book launch at BookCon.
They look so young, I thought they must be 18 or 19... They're 41?!?!? (Almost 42!) What sorcery is this?
Im 37 and queer - Tegan and Sara have literally been the soundtrack to my entire queer life, every new crush, breakup, drunken camping trip. Ive seen then in concert probably a dozen times. They are very funny.
Can they just-come back to continue talking with Seth? This was such a delightful and funny interview, they all had great chemistry!👏😆
I love hearing them converse as well. Lots of good humor and stories!
They feel so at ease here! I love how their style evolves together and separately over time. Highly recommend their Fresh Air interview if you want another great, and super personal interview with them.
I saw them play live once at Riot Fest in Chicago, and their set was so incredible that at one point I got teary eyed. I haven't read the book (yet) but the album that accompanies it- Hey, I'm Just Like You- is amazing.
The only song I know is CLOSER. Did they have any other good songs?
@@HH-gv8mx Unsure If you dug deeper yourself yet, but if you enjoy twee 2000's indie rock, So Jealous is a must hear IMO. But honestly, if you like Closer, you may really dig their 2013 album, Heartthrob, which Closer is from.
@@YouCanCallMeXoe Hey thank you for this! I’m looking it up now. I need new music on my playlist!
My queer twin sis (us too let’s be friends!) and I were thinking about how twins are underrepresented in mainstream and want to create content about our lives. Excited to read the book and check out the show!
I only discovered them in the first week of lock down and they changed the whole situation for me. I lived alone and didn't work, so I would have a party for one, most days.
Good times 😁.
I will be forever grateful for their music saving my sanity.
They look SO young, and they're 41!
How do they look so young?! I’m in college and I look older than them.
They know some secret miracle of youth. They've looked like this for decades seemingly
Genetics 👍
Wear sunscreen, don't ever smoke, drink lots of water.
Their secret: don't stay up all night partying. (At least once you leave high school.) They've said this.
@@rachelk4805 no, its genetics
Legends in the gay music game. Welcome straight ppl to The Tegan & Sara show. Kicking much industry tuchas for MANY years now. Success well earned!
This was a fantastic interview, I've always loved their music but never really got to see their personalities. They're too funny and great at holding conversations
HOW ARE THEY 41!?!? What God did I offend that I look my age but they could get away with playing 22 year olds?
Holy crap 40? I thought they were late 20s....ooof
How can they create a show about their lives and not have Kristen Stewart play both of them??
Because Kristen is 32?
Their interactions are amazing, so funny, and incredibly unique!
It's so weird that despite seeing plenty of live or music videos of them, even interviews, I had no idea they were so small. Obviously irrelevant to great music. Very cool to get a sense of the artists and their different personalities.
Yeahh, they have joked about being elves before in on stage banter 'cause they're 5'1".
I remember hearing "Walking with the Ghost" on Michigan States College radio station when it came out. I was working for MSU's Grounds Department at the time, on my lunch break I walked across Grand River to a record store called "Flat, Black and Circular" and bought the album. It had been a long time since someone made me do so.
That is one of my favorite songs. They just redid it and it's even better.
Their album from 2013 called heartthrob is an energetic and catchy as hell awesome piece of pop sensibility. Produced by the amazing Greg Kurstin. Critics slept on it, but I have no idea why.
“Closer” was a pretty big hit from it, though, and inspired Taylor Swift to go pop and inspired a whole shift to this synthpoppy genre of music that was popular in the 2010’s. So Heartthrob was not too shabby, IMO
that album was what got me into them! has such a special place in my heart to this day.
Heartthrob was great.
wow i’ve been a fan of their music for almost 20 years now, but i had no idea how funny and charming they are! this interview was delightful.
Wtf, how do they look half their age
Absolutely excited to see the show! I've been a fan since 2009 and omg so many things I went through and got over because their music gave me a sense of strength. ♥️
Aww, I'm so glad the UN agreed upon cloning Punky Brewster, back in the 80's, and letting them keep dressing that way.
Jokes aside, I've been a fan of theirs' since highschool (early-00's); I'm really glad they've stuck it out this long. 👽
Saw Tegan and Sara for the first time at the Victoria Folk Festival in 2002 or 2003. Had never heard of them, thought their performance was awesome. They were finishing each other's sentences and bantering with their mom who was in the audience, I was charmed. Still am!
Jeez I’m out of the loop here. I had no idea they wrote a book & have a show. I love their music
It's 2024, I started listening to them in 2005, and I'm just learning this today.
Listening to Seth introducing them I was thinking to myself how 19 year olds can release 10th albums when did they even start making music ?
till I stumbled upon comment that says they are in their 40s
They look young and sound young 🤩🥰❤
and they have the most lovely personality ☺
Loved their music in college. Need to catch up, and watch the show, because in certain they've only gotten better!
They are the best, so funny. Super excited for the new album and show.
They should have each written every other word, and just see where the story goes.
I will never forget seeing their small live show in Calgary in 1999. One of my roommates went to high school with them. ☺️
How I met your mothers Robin (cobie smulders) is starring in this series!! I’m going to be there for it ALL!! I’m pumped to see her return to series. This looks like a great role for her to utilize her more drama side. She’s a brilliant actress so this should be solid.
*I love them so much* I’ve been a fan since the early days .
Love their evolution . 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Bro- it’s okay to say your book is cool.
These people are so dope. The con documentary they released with that album is so entertaining and sweet
Delightful. Thank you for bringing this.
Seth actually conducted a great interview here! Compared to how they were with Stephen Colbert, more stiff and formal. As a huge T&S fan I fell like its a good unit of measurement to compare their interviewing styles. Tegan and Sara are the constant and Seth an Stephen are the variable....
I love their music, I've been a fan for 18 years.
what the hell!?
these girls are 41?????
good genes
Ah finally, I can just point this out to people who ask, "what's it like to have a twin?"
How cool is it that I grew up with them as a kid and now in my twenties I'm still just as enamored. They truly are beautiful inside and out.
It's sad to know the people without even knowing these two brilliant stars would reject them completely on the basis of being gay. They would never know how beautiful they are on the inside and out and what they have to offer the world.
I guess people never heard of Elton John, KD Lang, Melissa Etheridge, etc.
@@taoist32 don't forget about the Indigo Girls. I wasn't saying that Tegan and Sara are the first.
@@Brian-bm7ew I know, I’m just adding to your list of artists who are both gay and famous. And the Indigo Girls are awesome!
@@taoist32 Right on. Thank you for the gentle clarification. You know great music!
It is so annoying that they took down the performance of 'Yellow". It's the best performance I've seen from them. What gives?
They sound exactly like Clea DuVall who is the director of their show.
god, I effing love Clea Duvall
Such amazing people! Can't wait for High School
I don't care that Sara is a decade older than me, I still have a bit of a crush.
The con album went with me through my high school years, 12+ years ago. I'm definitely excited for the show, it's now marked on my calendar.
Why was their live performance of “yellow” removed?
I've always loved watching their banter it always made me think about my relationship with my sister. Bestfriends till the end.
yay! great interview! can't wait for the show and the album
My twin sister dated the first person I loved. I know this is a niche experience, but you don't know how much your music, and this series, helped me.
Great interview! Love them!
How the hell are they 41??? That's call minding your own business. YOUTH!
If you talk like a 14 year old people will be more likely to mistake you for a 14 year old.
@@ericminch yea that must be it
I love TF out of Tegan and Sara. Their show looks dope!
Anyone notice at 3:57 when she throws out the middle finger
well i mean, the only twins i've ever known were the exact opposite. they are one and the same people. they both are athletic, tall, married similar looking blonde women, have same kids, and have the same jobs working with each other in the same industry. it's REALLY weird. zero individuality. more power to them though i guess.
There are some genetic factors that play into this and it’s fascinating. Some twins have been studied from childhood to adulthood while growing up in different families and no communication between them. These twins wound up marrying someone similar looking with the same names, dogs and children with the same names, and having the same type of work. Makes you wonder what is considered free will and what is genetic.
Get to know triplets and quadruplets if you ever get the chance.
Crazy, they've grown up so much, I guess I have, too!
I like watching their interviews. They’re so funny.
When I saw the tittle for this video... I thought ... omg Their Album Is Out Finally !!! but nope Seth Meyers is like Comes Out October 14th.... I Literally cannot wait that long ... The first two releases are soooo good. I love when artists create a song thats new and fresh and also reminds you of a song or some some of an album from a past artists catalogue and makes it their own... Cause to be frank ! Tegan and Sara's new song F*cking Up What Matters, really truly reminds me of an old Fefe Dobson song, And I AM LIVING FOR IT , Cause they are all Canadian, and they all have unforgettable works, and not only does it pump me up for their new album it makes me want to listen to past Tegan and Sara songs, (Terrible Storm, Living Room two of my faves), it also makes me want to go back and listen to Fefe dobson and it makes me miss her doing new stuff... unfortunately Fefe Dobson does have a 2022 song on Apple Music... I don't live for it ... but there's still her old stuff to listen to. This show is gonna be Amazing !
I could listen to them forever. lol 😂 I always loved their music I did not know how charming they are. I am def. going to check out the show! luckily I already have Freevee.
Loved these two and their collaboration with tiesto
Where Does the Good Go, Back in Your Head, The Con, and Closer are still some of my favorite songs.
I'm so hooked on this series. Love the acting and the music is all music I grew up loving. I was a HUGE Nirvana fan, and it was awesome to see that clip of Pennyroyal Tea from the MTV Live set. I learned to play guitar just so i could learn Nirvana songs I somehow feel a real affinity to the characters because I was at High School (in another country) at the same time. Railey and Seazynn are really great in this series. Love it!
You women so inspire. Boundaries must be a challenge. 💙
Hometown heroes!
Me too
Truly talented people, and funny!
they're so Canadian
Dude I want a season two I love Sara so much
Love the show, love tegan and sara forever..... the best ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I know twin brothers who don't even speak to each other so Tegan and Sara's experiences are not alien to me. 🤣
Tegan and Sara!
*☝Thanks For Watching, Send a Direct Message Right Away I Will Love To Hear Your Thoughts On It And For More Enlightenment;☝*
Saw them live in Glasgow🏴 a long time ago, I think they were supporting The Killers. A good live band. Glad to see them still out there rocking👍
I can’t believe I’m seeing one of my old favorite bands on a late night talk show. Conor oberst has been on a few in the last few years too. What a time to be alive. “Taaake me by the hand and tell mee-..”
In new zealand , we have two twins , both lesbians and record country music, have had a huge tv career in commedy and live tours and are now in their mid 60s and are nz icons . The ToppTwins
You two are amazing!!
Hard to believe they’re 41
I’m a rap guy, but TandS are one of the groups that I turn up, windows down in the whip, unashamed. ✅
From Canada you say... actually you didn't
Nice Tuxedo.
I saw them live a few years ago and their charm/dynamic was half the fun of attending that show lol.
Ahh love these girls! I met them super early in their career at a tiny little show and told them I hope they become super famous and look at them now! 😍😍😍
Sara's jawline could kill somebody
I am a forever fan of Tegan and Sara!
where can I get those square shoes sara is wearing????
Love T&S and have been WAITING for the show to come out!!!!!
So excited for this!!! Love them
so excited to watch new interviews from you guys, i've missed you!
This show is going to be their best coming, I can't wait!
Gosh Im here because I saw Coby Smulders post a picture and I was like...wait is that Tegan and Sara?! Then I just went down the Tegan and Sara stalking mission and am soooo stoked about the memoir, the show and the new music! It's been sooo long since I've listen to them Im glad they're back with a BANG!

Wawww the girls did a good job in the show and they were not actors empressive
Crescent heights. Represent !
We have never seen Tim Henson from Polyphia and Sara in the same room.
I saw them live in San Diego and I’ll never forget it!!!
Whoa, they are both 42 years old here. Both look, sound and feel like they are still in their 20's.
What! They r 42????😳
41 years old!!!
