Granados had the talent to combine the tradition of Central European late romanticism with the characteristics of Spanish music. we have op 50, a work that is unfortunately seldom played but one of the really great ones alongside Goyescas and Danzas españolas.
This isn't the complete piano works of Granados, just a selection--that's why. At first I was expecting this to be the whole shebang since Brilliant Classics often has the complete works of various composers, but this, unfortunately, is not such a set. Still a treat for the ears though.
I don't know, but it would cover 6 CDs. (Or at least that's what an online check revealed.) In any case, a considerable chunk of music. There are several pianists who have recorded the complete piano works of Granados. Douglas Riva, Martin Jones, and Thomas Rajna are three of them. @@nikolai5012
