That was the exact information I needed to help me make a wing decision. 120 hours on the Spyder 24 and want to level up. This one just seems like the logical next step. Thank you for putting this video together.
great vid. I wonder what the launch characteristics would be like if it was the same size your used to. It's a smaller and hotter wing then your 24m sorrocca but I wonder if the launch characteristics are more due to size or profile.
No I didn't test out any other wings from Dudek. In hindsight I wish I would have demoed a couple different ones but I'm very happy with the one I went with
Hi Adam thanks for the review. I'm currently looking to get a new wing and am looking for that "forever wing". I'm trying to decide between a Sirocco3 24m and a Driftair 22m. I'm 220pounds or 100kgs. What I want is a wing that can do a bit of everything and is playful. How does the Driftair perform on XC. Can you put the brakes up and go hands free without oscillation? I had a go on my mates 20m Driftair and it oscillated quite a bit, but I had it overloaded. I want to be able to park the brakes sometimes chill and weight shift. But I like wingovers etc as well. Your thoughts would be much appreciated. I'm stuck whether to buy the Sirocco3 or Driftair. Thanks
Hey buddy, great wing choice options. I just got back from Colorado flying and flew my Sicocco 3 (24m) while there. That wing is a great "all around" wing... performs well, you can flip it around easy and flies very straight. The best thing, is the Ozone launches so nice all the time! That is the tricky part of the Drift... the launch can be a little frustrating at times if conditions are not perfect. But the drift is more fun in the air. It does oscillate more than the sirocco, but I haven't been heavily loaded. If I had to choose one wing, I'd get the Sirocco.... but you won't be disappointed with the drift (especially in flight).
Nice review and flight. I finally got up on the SP 140 this week, did you end up selling your SP? If you are out in my neck of the woods let me know, we could get some flying in. Take care.
Hey Adam think I've watched this video like 10 times and probably will another 10 in the 10 weeks before my driftair gets here. Would like to hear any comments on the difference between The spyder3 and the driftair specifically the learning curve that I will experience. At first I was looking at the hydron 3 because of the cross country top speed but when I was real honest with myself what I call cross country is really more like sightseeing so speeds not really the most important thing But it sure is nice to be somewhere around the top of the pack when you're flying with your buds. 😂 plus from listening to you sounds like this wing has plenty of speed. FYI I have recently gone from a 24 m spyder3 to a 20 m which was a pretty big jump for me But it was also due mostly to tremendous weight loss So no real change in characteristics. I ordered an 18 m driftair I sit right in the middle of the range at 104 kg all up so I'm a little bit lighter loaded than you are on your 20 m. My only concerns are really take off and landings and maybe over steering at first.
Hey buddy, congratulations on your order I'm sure you're chomping at the bit to get that wing! The biggest thing you'll notice between The Spyder and the driftair is the amount of pull needed to steer or maneuver. A buddy of mine just went that exact same direction from a 24 spider to the 18 Drifter and loves it. Landing it is soooo much fun... launch is just a little different. Take your time learning the wing, it may be a little intimidating at first but just be smart and you'll get comfortable very quickly. Then go back to fly in the spyder and it will feel like a boat!
Very nice videos Im with 200 hours and am still on a Spyder3 so sad Ha? I only know Ozone but so ready to leave the nest .. Im 108Kg all up max with fuel looking at the 20 or 18m ..
hello, I am a paramotor pilot from GB. I have over 12 years of experience .and over 2,000 air hours. now my time counts for something. at the moment I have a viper 3 a viper 4 and a driftair., so without being too cocky.. I am a bit experienced. but being human. and making mistakes.. now and then.. I am moving forward ..and times I move back.... such is learning ...= we learn by mistakes = live and learn or learn and live... iam still learning... a bit like life. it has its ups and downs. yeah, I am loving it too. = peter pan = is a part of being British times..... my review is a bit different. compared to ozone vipers = expert wings but I am no expert. a pilot willing .................................................................. to learn.. such as life wings can be like cars all different. come in different colors etc suited for individuals.= it takes all sorts. your review. my review ... a free world to comment ????

That could be the case but I have heard Dudek definitely launch differently. It's also a faster Wing so everything is done a little bit faster
Oh man, I keep hearing great things about that wing. Looking good on that approach!
Great video. Lot's of useful information here.
Did you also consider and demo the Hadron 3?

You have just sold me a Drift-Air

Still loving it? Just ordered a 20M in the green color 😊
It's still my favorite wing to fly (even after flying the Viper XC and Freeride 2). You'll be happy my friend!
Love the drifty!!!

I still have the SP140 - great setup. I'm about 40min SW of Knoxville
@@adam-newbloom good to hear from you, I'm out in Vegas so if you come out west give me a holler.
How is your selfie stick attached ?
I use a ram mount attached to the swing arm
