    Wow props to him for creating such a prolific design and giving it away to the world. The fact that these are so small and easy to make is just one more nail in the coffin of gun control.

      They are mass produced in manufacturing plants in China to high standards (Not 3D Printed) with machined metal and military grade polymer, and smuggled into Mexico and South America by the Drug Cartels, who, after keeping a certain number for future use, have been smuggling very large numbers of these into the USA, and probably Europe as well, and then are distributed thru Cartel Networks to buyers. The ATF will never be able to control these things, much like the Solvent Traps that they have their panties in a wad over. There will always be a work around if changes are made in the firearm.

    If it wasn't him it would be someone else, at heart its just a geometric shape, all it does is disable the out of battery safety and hit the trigger bar. You could probably make this out of wood even.

    Dude creates an insert for a Glock 17 to make it automatic. For the purpose of "supporting police and counterterrorism efforts" because when I think of counterterrorism I think mag dumping 17 rounds into a 10 inch group from 5 ft away from a polymer framed pistol at 1300 rpm.

      It was almost certainly intended to be fired one-handed while using a ballistic shield, that's a solid use case for it.

      And how many MP5's and full auto M4's are in police hands? No difference except who has badges. Lots of body cams of officers doing multiple mag dumps and often not even hitting the subject. The difference is...?

    Funny thing is that automatic weapons are full auto by design (it's the simplest basic way to build them) so designers *add* the disconnector so sear catches slider even with trigger still pulled back. You simply remove/grind/push aside wood match sized disconnector bar and it becomes full auto again. You can do that to *any* pistol. Only advantage of this device is you can go back to semi auto by pushing a button without need for disassembly. But nothing really new.

  • @vizulefllry
    @vizulefllry 4 місяці тому +15

    There's no advantage to full auto for police. There is an advantage to going to the range and practicing accuracy.

    Changing the Glock trigger? That will work for about 2 seconds. Any simi auto can be converted to full or select fire. It's nothing new. John Dillinger had converted 1911s back in the 30s.

    What nonsense. Military and police can buy factory automatic glock 18s if they want them. He didn't create them for that purpose.

    We all know the full automatic feature in a pistol is only good for close combat. So, this device basically creates a firearm that is still less effective than a shotgun.

    • @fahey5719
      @fahey5719 4 місяці тому +1

      Not less effective. We are talking 17 9mm rounds which will go through anything vs 9 .32 caliber lead balls which will have difficulty going through a car door. But the point is you can carry a 9mm in a coat pocket or in the waist. Try that with a shotgun.

    The glock 18 was invented in 1986 (kind of funny he doesnt even mention this). A year before the full auto switch was even a fluttering thought in this guy's mind. For this guy to say "I wish I never made it" is spinless and weak. He acts like he invented the concept of the machine pistol (the concept of the machine pistol has existed since the mid 1910s and early 1920s). He gives himself all this credit as if he actually did something new and as of this technology hadn't already or wouldn't progress with out him. Dude is full of himself and is a bootlicker.

    • @Gunshinzero

      @@ChuckSneed88 So the device is responsible for the proliferation of automatic pistols that literally wouldn't exist due to the law in 1986. How is that not proving the point of your original post incorrect?

    • @ChuckSneed88
      @ChuckSneed88 4 місяці тому

      @@Gunshinzero due to proliferation of the law yes but due to restraint of design no. It's a glock back plate with a sloped rod attached it's not rocket science, it's easily machined and always has been given the decades long proliferation cnc machining, and he was pretty obviously influenced by the glock 18. It's absurd to assume nobody else would do this had he not. More a knock at his ego and his disbelief that the proliferation of the design would occur without him that it than it is his design itself.

    • @Gunshinzero
      @Gunshinzero 4 місяці тому +2

      @@ChuckSneed88 That doesn't seem like an ego issue. He designed it in the 80's and was still able to patent it in the 90's because no one had already.
      If that's a case of ego then no one can claim responsibility for anything. Is it ego for a person to have guilt for killing someone by assuming that person wouldn't have been killed by someone else in the following 30 years?

    H&K made the Glock 18 for the G.E.K agency on special request to combat terrorism back then they were called EKO Cobra and they wanted a small machine pistol that could lay down alot of firepower in a very confined space such as a terror cell Hideout
    The reality is it was very superior in CQC situations where fights end in seconds and every moment of violence counts they are practical to own and should not be illegal considering anyone can make one with previous/new models available to citizens

    There is no way he didn't know this would eventually be copied, even without the internet. Reverse engineering has always been a thing, and this is such a small simple thing to copy. Of course getting a US patent just gave the plans to everyone and sped up the process. Inventors do not always know how their inventions will be used, but this was a dangerous one.

    • @Gunshinzero
      @Gunshinzero 4 місяці тому +3

      Copying isn't the issue though. It's the ability to access the info. If he sold to government, who would have access to reverse engineer it? Also, 3D printing didn't exist. It's not reasonable for him to predict that.
      Heck you can find out how to make a nuclear bomb online. The barrier is the ability to manufacturer the raw materials.

    I don't mean to be mean here, but I don't get this dude. He should have thought this through beforehand. You can't just throw something like this out there and assume nobody bad would use it. It's like this with any new technology. People will do fkd up stuff. Is it his responsibility? No, it's not, it's the person's who is using it. Still, it's a bit late to feel guilty.

    I don’t care what you say. Why should people be able to have access to an automatic weapon? Two reasons. Because we can. Or at least the government should honor the second amendment’s phrase “shall not be infringed“. And the second reason is because the military can have them. And why was the second amendment written? Again as is always true. It’s not the tool. But the hand that wields it. Firearms, semi automatic or automatic and in any caliber or style is not the problem. The problem is with people. The problem is with courts that continue letting violent criminals out to roam the streets among innocent, law-abiding citizens to do their evil. It’s not rocket science. It’s really very simple and I don’t know why people that know little to nothing about firearms and are afraid of an inanimate object continue to resist that truth.

    This guy looks way too young and way too alive to be the guy who invented the glock switch, which has been around since WWII.
    Literally, every Nazi soldier in WWII had a glock switch. Standard issue.
    If this is the man who invented it, he must be a vampire.
