Finally someone doing actually worth while testing and knowing what their doing. Personally I would skip the 50m and shoot 2x10 groups at 100m. Gonna stick with my t1x based on the accuracy results, but that bergara would be a nice addition. Edit: I would suggest testing sk long range match and the lapua biathlon series.
Do you clean the bore and shoot enough rounds of each ammo in between switching to season the barrel to that specific ammo before doing the next group?
That at 50 meters or 100? I am getting 10mm groups at 50, but for some reason 3-5cm groups at 100. I suspect my ammo transition from super to subsonic and gets unstable somewhere between 50-100 meters..
@@christianolsen9781 Supersonic ammo is definitely your problem. Sub sonic is more accurate 99% of the time with .22. SK Rifle Match ended up being slightly more accurate in my Bergara. I average between .3 and .4moa at 50 and 100. And if I've good on the wind, I can hit fairly reliably at 300
SK standard plus gives me the best accuracy for my B14r carbon. My average 10 shot group at 100 yards is slightly over 1 inch. At 50 yards, I get around 0.35” 10 shot groups.
The video stalled twice with me, got sound but didn’t get to see the 100m groups! “ if iam honest” and the crap music, glad to see the vernier calipers appear as your thumb doesn’t do it, “if iam honest”! Lose the suppressor and bipod the next time, take some advice on ammo, let us know what trigger weights were! You tried hard, and I was very impressed by your target prep. Easy on the eye!and finally more SK please!
What would happen if I turned-up at one of the NRL competitions with my .22lr Walther KK500 and shot 50m and 100m with no telescopic sight (but with a diopter rear sight and sling) and every round was inside the 9 ring at either distance and with the same ammunition brands? And I'm not even a Class-A or X shooter? Someone surely has done it in the past?
Chad. You are trying to enlighten folks that have no clue the type of shooting you do. I too shoot a Walther KK500 with a sling and metallic sights and do quite well with it at the USA-national level. I really wish some of these “Shooters” could experience what true marksmanship involves.
Been testing ammunition myself all of it Eley has really got the best ammunition on the planet it’s really got a lot to do with the gun if everything on the Gun is Percision perfect which my rifle is there certain types of ammo that just shoot like total crap then there’s Eley ammunition since I went with it I’m winning competition my shots are 5 shots in a dead center 1/32 tight
I saw a video that said the B14 R had a problem extracting he called Begara B 14 R and he called Begara and they had a bolt comming in an hour. I just bought one and I cant even get Begara to answer the phone. My gun is more like a shotgun than a "presison bolt gun" I bought mine to practice PRS I have changed my mind. I think I'm going to shoot trap with it now because it does a small +4.5" "pattern" it is no longer a group, it's a "pattern" like a full choke!!!!!!! 😞
I can assure you there is an issue somewhere, the 22’s come with a gaurantee also and you should take it back to your local shop who you purchased it with,
@@josh.precisionrifle8972 I would love to resolve this problem with Begara but it's like their out of business or something. I waited to post before I dropped this stink bomb but dude, I feel as though I was fleeced. No love for me at Begara I guess.
Jake Farber it’s not the correct procedure to try to contact bergara, the route to get this sorted is send it back to your shop and then they will return to Ruag, they will sort it with bergara then,
@@josh.precisionrifle8972 Thanks Josh. I finally got a phone call to a nice young man at Bergara and he sent me an RMA to return the barreled action. He also said that Bergara tests their guns at 50 yds. Knowing that MOA is MOA 1/2 MOA at 50 yds. is aprox. 1/4” @ 50 yds. the ammo I’m using is still supersonic at 100 yds. and shouldn’t cross transsonic until +180 yds. I’m going to test the gun at 50 yds. and send the targets to Bergara.
Find an ammo your gun likes . All guns have extra head space to take different ammo . Extra crimp , no crimp , Do your math and shoot your gun till you get it right !
50 yard groups not that impressive. Where I live the cheapest mag feed Anschutz with a match stock is 2/3 the price of this rifle and shoots groups with all shots in or touching 10 ring.
Not impressed. You could have bought a Savage Mark II FVSR with a Boyd's tacticool stock for half the price and gotten twice the accuracy, half the group sizes.
Very disappointing. I just traded some Gunsmithing work for a B-14. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but from what i'm seeing here the rifle won't even compete with my Remington 513T made in 1954 with a pitted barrel and a Shite trigger and a cheap Redfield Battlezone scope. The 513T likes the old Eley Silohouex and Wolf Match. I keep saying this but the old rifles are far superior to anything made today at a reasonable price. You really can't beat a good cond. Win. 52 or Anschutz or Old Remington 500 series or 40X .22 obviously it's the barrels and quite possibly that they are way longer than the new short tactical looking rifles of today. I used to Gunsmith for a Police Dept. and when Remington came out with the 700s with the 20" .308 barrels all the SWAT officers wanted their PSS rifles cut down to 20" for the cool factor. One of the officers a good friend of mine got in line and i tried to talk him out of it. I said what does the rifle like to eat now?. he said "anything" it likes most any ammo. i said "it won't when i cut that barrel down". it went from liking most anything to liking 1. brand of ammo and even that didn't shoot stellar. If the B-14 i traded for does't shoot well it will be getting a new "longer stainless heavy barrel" to prove my point.

Nice to see someone post real groups and not just cherry pick the odd stand out target
Good shooting, very good info on the different types of ammo.
Nice!! Just brought 500 rounds of the Eley Match
Interesting results, thanks for sharing.
Do you clean the bore and shoot enough rounds of each ammo in between switching to season the barrel to that specific ammo before doing the next group?
Yeah at least run 25 or so of the new ammo through it before shooting it for groups.
Really enjoyed the review
Nice test. Geco Semi Auto I use like main... it's cheap and plenty accurate
SK Standard Plus is half moa in my Bergara. I've got some SK Match on the way to compare it to, but either way I'll be happy.

@@OhshitPositive so less than 15mm groups at 100? That is really impressive.
Hello Josh, When you test different ammunition in 22lr, don't you clean the barrel between each brand ?
Yes he should clean the Barrel between ammo choices. The lube is different.
If you are all that interested in how well your rifle shoots ,send the barreled action to a test center and lot test.

Geco Semi Auto is good cheap ammo, before the shortage it was cheap.
I would have expected better from that rifle with really good ammo.
...Geco semiauto, CCI Tactical and Eley Action all shoot 10 round 1" gps @100 yards in standard 16" & 20" 10/22 target heavy barrel models...

So youre saying you have a rifle that shoots 1/32" center to center 5 shot groups at (Im assuming) 50 yards with zero variation in group size? 😐
@@michaelhill7927 yep dead on perfection
I really like that bipod setup. I'm gonna check the comments to see if somebody says what it is.
I hope that's a solid back drop behind that hedge line.
Don’t be one of those guys… it’s a cornish hedge line that’s best part of 3m deep.!!!
The rifle would group a lot better if you had a stable rest.
Front bipod and rear bag is what I’m using,
Love the brass catcher. lol
Not bad! Not bad at all!
exellent
You cherry pick the heck out of everything!
what bipod you have on this rifle ??
Łukasz Halicki that’s a tier one evolution
its the Tier one evolution carbon bipod,
Any chance you repeated by putting Lapua CenterX up against the R50?
