Both Seotaiji and Boys MV & the live version of Perfect Man don't have English because of how old they are, hence the 2nd recommendation. The nostalgia of the original Seotaiji and Boys video is great. Seeing Shinhwa live is always a vibe. The 1st recommendation on the list is obviously not a MV. You have got to see their concerts because they are a solo act. They don't have anyone opening for them and they dance the whole time. You will love them. 😊
yes they all have solo albums and solo songs both inside BTS albums and also stand alone solo songs. You have 7 solo artists that make up the Biggest Global Group on the planet they only group that's able to compete with Global Solo Artists they are part of the Top 10 Global Artist list the only group in that list.
You can say BTS is idol music/ kpop, but usually we say they're more than that, because they write most of their own music and are really successful on the charts for a bunch of different genres. So, they can be pop artists, hip hop, jazz, rnb, etc. Boracity magazine is a good source of videos about BTS's impact
Armys are hella patient and LOVE long form vids. So feel free to watch through once for visual and dance. Then watch again focusing on lyrics. Because the lyrics are integral to BTS. I personally love the reactors that even delve into google explanations of the lyrics and watch the “explained by a Korean” videos because those vids impart cultural and language nuances that we non-Koreans would never understand.

BTS lyrics are connected to the visuals in their MV. It is sometimes difficult to watch and read subtitles at the same time. Consider watching the video without reading the lyrics and then watch the video again to read the lyrics so that you can fully understand the message in their music. With BTS, there is always a message in their songs and videos.
The one who made you look twice is Rm. He is the leader of the group. And every single person has their own album. Rm and Suga have 3 individual solo albums. J-hope has 2 solo albums. Aand, the rest jin, jimin, v, and jungkook all have 1. They have over 400 songs between group, rap line, vocal line, deuts, and solos. I would suggest starting at the beginning with the first song "no more dream" and work your way through their discography. That way, you can see their growth and get a hang of the BU (bangtan universe)

I am ARMY (BTS fandom) since 2019, it is hard to explain my love and pride for BTS. Just let me tell you that the last time i bought an an Album was in 1998 (Jon Bon Jovi).... until NOW. Slowly but surely I have accumulated a nice chunk of BTS merch including duplicates to keep mint/sealed.

They indeed all have solo work on the side of BTS (SUGA's solo name is Agust D, and all the others keep the same names. RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook)
No, they didn't grow up together. Although, Jung Kook, the youngest, was 13 when he joined the group and 15 when they debuted. Except for JK, they were aged from 15-18 when they joined and 17-20 when they debuted in 2013. Now the youngest is 26 and the two oldest are 31

Mic Drop was my introduction to BTS, and sent me down the BTS rabbit hole. Ive been there ever since. The dance practice is on a whole other level, and don't get me started on their live performances. It's insane!

10yr ARMY here and, as someone else recommended, start at the beginning. Not only will it allow you to see their growth but the videos will make more sense if done in order once you get to the HYYH era (the BTS universe).
All of them have solo albums out, with the exception of Jin who has only a single due to his going into the military first. It is expected that he will release his solo album once he is released.
I HIGHLY recommend you watch Taylor Mari's video that introduces you to the members before you go too far. It will give you a good insight to their talent, their personalities, and why they are so successful as a group.

RM was initially Rap Monster but later changed it to RM. His given name is Kim Namjoon (family name comes first).
He's definitely the leader, suave as hell when speaking for the group and has a crazy IQ BUT he's also crazy clumsy. He has the nickname god of destruction. The members say he shouldn't get his driver's license for the sake of world peace 😂. Also a very introspective poet, hugely respected, he has a lot of collaborations with goat Korean artists and people like Erykah Badu, Anderson paak, as far as we know he's working on something with Pharrell, or will be when he gets back from his military service.
At the end of the day, he's hot af 🤭😍🔥💜
They debuted 13 June 2013 and were together for about 2year prior to that. 3 of the members came from the under ground Hip Hop Scene.

To be in the underground hip hop scene means professionally performing and releasing music without being signed to a label. So only RM and Suga would be considered as underground artists before joining BTS. J-hope would be considered a street dancer because he was part of a crew and performed professionally, but he wouldn't be considered part of the underground music scene as he didn't start making music until joining Big Hit. Not trying to argue, just wanted to correct the misunderstanding. These definitions don't mean anyone's more or less talented than the others, it's just about when they started their professional career 💜

I hope you will alternate doing solo songs for members, so you can be introduced to each of them before getting solely attached to one of them. But it is your channel so do as your u want. The person above listed 5 songs for Jimin and none for the other three vocalists, so I’ll just tell you a bit about him and let her suggestions be mine. Jin (the oldest of the group who was chosen for his visuals. It just turned out that he has an amazing voice and now writes beautiful songs. Hollywood writers gave him the nickname “Silver Voice” 😊. Jung Kook, the youngest became a trainee at age 13. He is the main vocalist (highest) and lead dancer (right below main). He is also a sub rapper and the center of the group. Jung Kook was in People Magazines Sexiest Man Alive issue as the sexiest 25 year old. He was also the inaugural choice for International Sexiest Man Alive. Rolling Stone listed him in their list of best voices of all-time. He is the only Asian male on the list. V (V has been voted Most handsome face in the world many years in a row. He is known for his deep baritone, but also powerful R&B falsetto. Along with JK, Jimin and J-Hope, he is on the dance line). He is also known for his striking visuals and facial expressions during live performances. He is the 2nd youngest of the group. Almost 2 years older than JK. Please add his songs *”Fri(end)s, “Singularity” live, and “Slow Dancing”* .
Jimin is known for his sensual presence on stage. He is just a couple of months older than V. There is something fans call “the Jimin effect” because many straight men kiddingly say he makes them question their orientation because he is pretty. 😊 I’ve recently seen some men say the same about Jung Kook since he released his solo album. Jimin has probably the most unique voice in the group. He can sing very high and his voice is very pretty. He is the main dancer (highest along with J-Hope, who is also the dance leader) and the lead singer (right below main). He has a background in contemporary dance and as you go through this journey you will get to see that put to use in several performances. J-Hope, on the other hand has his background in street dancing. He actually has a docuseries out right now on Amazon Prime. As you said, they can all dance well.
An interesting note is no one in the group any singing experience before becoming trainees.

Suga aka Agust D is one of the main producers of the group. He actually has a movie out right now, so you might want to move him up the list and make an except to watch several of his in a row if you want to go see the mi or before it leaves theaters. He is an amazing rapper. He also has a talk show called Suchwita and he has had all the members as guest. It’s a very good show. You know J-Hope. Besides being an amazing dancer (main dancer and dance leader) and rapper, he also has a beautiful voice and sings in some BTS songs. The three rappers were the vast majority of BTS songs. J-Hope headlined Lollapalooza where 100K people were in attendance. You would love that performance. lLLke I said, he has a docuseries on Prime about his roots as a street dancer. Please add his songs *”More”, “Neutron” and “I Wonder” featuring JK.
I’m sorry this is so long. I just felt compelled to let you know some about ALL of them, not just my bias. They are all seven amazing.
I like how you talked about weak links and you didn’t see any here, similar to what I said when I first checked them out. I described it as “filler” members who aren’t quite as talented as others in the group and the most talented ones have successful solo careers. I was pleasantly surprised to see they didn’t have any. They are all super talented and yes, they all have solo careers. Just extraordinary, all of them.

They started young with each other..ground up garages and no silver spoon. The are from a small group outside of “the big three ->kpop) they are independent.
Well done You! You admit you know nothing, really about BTS, but you did know who they are! A lot of reactors know it seems literally Nothing about them! I think they hear that ARMY (BTS' fans) will watch everything, and do it for the clicks. But - headzup - ARMY hate that! :D
Now, this is one of the most famous of BTS' well over 300 tracks. They do not have one genre, but have about 9 different styles. No one (including ARMY) ever knows what will come next, because BTS are always different. They are also always deep: lyrics often have more than one possible interpretation and play games with language between Korean, English, and (yes) Japanese. So, it's not a good idea to try to take BTS at face value, or to diss them on the basis of preconceptions. ARMY can be fierce and will not put up with that. BUT we all start off knowing nothing, and need to learn. And there is SO MUCH to learn that it can take a while - but if you show an honest interest, ARMY is delighted to help you. So - welcome - it's fun here.
You like dance : do do I. I have seen all sorts of live dance performances live, and up close. I (perhaps sadly) like to see the sweat flying off a spinning dancer. BTS are great dancers- but only 2 were trained before they came into training in 2010 and 2012 respectively. All the others learned during the time they were trainees at Big Hit (two of the rappers doing so only very reluctantly!). But after over 10 years, they are now all very skilled.
You asked if this is Kpop. Debateable. For western audiences, it's an easy category to put them in, but many ARMYs (myself included) see BTS as their own category for a number of reasons:
They are ALL heavily involved in writing and producing their music.
They cover many subjects which are taboo in Kpop
Their lyrics are more than lyrics, but actually more like poetry
They confront many issues that Korea likes to gloss over
Their achievements reach beyond only music : as holders the government's Hwagwang order of cultural merit (usually only awarded to people over 40), of diplomatic passports from their government as cultural ambassadors for young people, active as 3-times speakers at the UN General Assembly, speaking at the White House, Advocating for the organisation which finds and returns to their families the bodies of soldiers lost in the Korean war, making regular large charitable donations, whether as individuals, or as a group (recently made yet another donation to the UNICEF organisation to support needy young people across the world, many other things...
For these reasons ARMY also doesn't feel right calling them a boy band! No western boy band was ever like this.
At this time they are all in the army doing their mandatory military service. Most released solo albums before they went in. Jin is due out in June, had no time to do an album before going, but has promised us one when he comes back - Did do a collab with Coldplay on a single though, and went to Argentina to perform live with them. That was a 60 hour round trip, for 2 days, and one show. Coldplay love BTS and so do Coldplay fans. We love them too.

Another fun reaction. Thank you. They get pigeon holed into KPOP. They finally decided they didn't care what you want to call them, they are going to do what they are going to do. They were formed as a HipHop group (the first two members were underground rappers before joining.) Then they added vocals and choreo from the Kpop world at a time when that wasn't done. As a result they were shunned by both the HipHop World (who considered them sellouts) and the Kpop world (who considered them to free and unconformists to their strict Idol norms). BTS said screw it, we don't care, we'll do what we want and be who we are and they did. They did so well now KPOP tries to emulate them. But most Kpop idols don't (or are prevented from) write or participate in their music creation, while BTS has created their own stuff since before debut. Not to say KPOP idols don't work extremely hard, but BTS isn't that formulaic pushed out music. They change their genre and style based on what they think suits their message best. They are pretty versatile with almost no two songs that sound the same and no genre is off-limits. Even as solos, they are all so different from each other but even in their own music and albums, they are versatile. So the music never gets old or sounds the same. It is a fun rabbit hole I've been in now for 3 years and still discovering things I hadn't seen before.

BTS have too much talent that it is hard to recommend stuff without flooding the comments 😂 For dance , I recommend their Butter performance at the Grammys, On Manifesto dance performance, a very old MV - Fire. If you like to hear them rap-rap, check oht their Cyphers 1,2,3,4, DDAENG (but follow it with the explanation video to understand their genius wordplay. To know more about them as a group, watch Taylor's guide to BTS - quite interesting as it showed how they started and the details about each of the member. Btw, they are currently serving in the military so they each released their solo albums. Man, with just BTS, there is too much content to react to!

Hi and welcome to the rabbit hole! We’re all pretty friendly around here! Yes, you should watch Mic Drop again only this time concentrate on the lyrics. There’s a reason they’re called Bulletproof Boy Scouts in English. Debuting in 2013, they had to put up with ALOT of💩💩 from the media, the record business and everyone in between! They have more resilience than I ever could! The guy you’re referring to is Kim (last name) Namjoon aka Rap Monster. The other 2 rappers are J-Hope & Suga. They practiced 12-15 hours MANY days to get their dance moves down! They also have to RUN on a treadmill while singing to increase their stamina! Like someone said, they do TWO AND A HALF HOURS OF LIVE MUSIC WITH VERY LITTLE BREAKS! Definitely worth watching one of their concert videos and you’ll see what we’re talking about!

Ok, so I suggest you check out the rappers next, there are 3 of them: RM, Suga, and J-Hope. RM is the lead rapper and overall leader of the group, he's the only one that can speak English fluenly. Suga also goes by Agust D when he does his solo music, and it's also kind of his alter ego name as well. J-Hope is not only a rapper but he's also the lead dancer of BTS. Here are some recommendations of some music videos/tracks you should listen to:
Suga/Agust D: Daechwita, Haegeum, Amygdala (in that order, it's a trilogy and tells a story), Agust D (self titled track), and Give it to Me. All those have music videos, but also listen to the songs D-Day, Huh?!, and SDL, there's no music video for those ones, but they're really good.
RM: Joke (watch the music video with the English translation!), Monster (no music video but really good), Do You, Persona (under BTS but it's solely him on the track), Still Life with Anderson Paak, Wildflower, and Closer (no music video)
J-Hope: Arson, More, Airplane, On The Street with J Cole, Ego, 1 Verse, Base Line, and HangSang (the last 3 don't have music videos but they're really good).

AI lot of these groups (don't know about BTS specifically) are made up of individuals that have to get into K-POP training camps and after stiff competition they're selected and put together and put under contract. These people work hard, and non-stop. It's a well oiled machine pumping out non-stop groups/talents. They use teams of artist, producers, musicians, videographers, stylist, choreographers, ect. It's a HUGE industry.
