Just watched him in person at Idlewild and my I kept getting blown away by how smooth both his forehand and backhand were. He’s definitely one of those guys
Jerm...love you, but...Kyle Klein's got one of the purest forehands out there, and he switches between backhand and forehand at least as seamlessly as J Buck
I'm a firm believer that spectators should never be allowed within 10 feet of OB. If you can't get far enough from the OB then it's not a spot where spectators should be allowed. Either well off of OB, or behind the players. Never just outside the fairway, because some players like to throw flex shots over OB. That's a risky play, but they should be rewarded for it if they throw it well.
Definitely brutal and unfortunate, but also...spectators are a part of the course too, it was not a well thrown shot. And an attempt was made by the spectator, it wasn't like they weren't paying attention. Bad luck for both parties :/ It was dope to see Simon immediately move past it and nail that putt soo cleanly!
What to do with spectators is still one of the biggest hurdles of disc golf. Regardless of the bad shot. I absolutely hate it when a spectator is in the way.
Great coverage as always. Not sure I love the players yelling at spectators. I know this will be an unpopular statement, but the absolute easiest way to keep spectators from being brought into a disc golfers game potentially causing strokes is to not throw it out of bounds. We all do it of course, but if you throw over OB there is a chance it will not come back in. That is a chance every player takes when challenging OB. Could be a wind gust, turned it over too much, a squirrel, a tree, a tiny twig, or a spectator. I do see both sides so I am not advocating either way because I think both sides definitely have merit. All I am saying is, if your disc does not cross the OB line you will not be OB . :0)
spectators need to not be places in areas where they can affect shots staying in/out of bounds.. if there isnt a good spot for them to stand it sucks but they just should not be on that hole. it ruins the integrity of the competition.
Agreed because those shots wouldn't cost shots on 5th card or worse. Being on top 4 cards shouldn't penalize you for a shot you threw on an earlier card the previous round.
This is the take I was looking for. Not every hole needs full visibility on every shot. Even restricting to the left side of the fairway here seems way more sensible.
@@Jacob-ur4me Yeah, they're not playing over there. Their shots are fading right. The issue with this was Simon threw wide, and either way, it seems you agree that the spectators along the fairway are an issue.
Thank you guys and Jomez for all of the awesome coverage of this fun sport. You guys do such an amazing job that all other commentators of the same competitions just seem lame. Thank you again and keep up the awesome commentary and coverage.
I try not to think about Tom Cruise at all and this music really sucks after that same whiney guitar string bend EVERY SINGLE HOLE. I'd almost rather hear some rap, but not quite. GET SOMETHING NEW!
Why only two rounds at New London? Is it because it’s worse for spectators? Really a shame because it’s such an awesome track. Way better than Ivy Hill imo.
Lets GO Nate on hole 4. Heck yeah. I own 4 sexton firebirds and may have to actually throw them instead of look at them. Thank you guys for all the hard work
I just have to say. Adam’s putts on 3 and 4 are both just low misses. Was one a little closer to getting lucky? Yes. But if you’re hitting the cage coming in? That is still just a low miss. It’s not unlucky that it didn’t stick. It is lucky that it almost did.
Can we please get the jomez star frame gingle on udisc for when my card on league night makes a star frame we udisc plays the gingle. I know so many of us would love that collaboration
Sometimes I feel like OB is being over-utilized solely for the purpose of selling tickets to spectators. I don’t want to see spectators hit by discs, but imagine how exciting hole 7 would be without OB. The ethos of a “woods course” used to be only about natural OB. And now they have 2 rounds of the most heavy OB play after this. Idk, I feel like it’s getting absurd.
they went to Simon's side at first. then totally threw him under the bus. DG needs to have a clear line for fans to stay behind. Its unsafe for them and its costs players their livelihood.
Man I wish they hadn't removed the OB from the first holes... Foundation and the Bogey Bros and everyone else play with it...why remove it for the most skilled players in the world? None of these scores even count towards the course record now.
We needed 3 rounds here. Ivy is a bad course. I can’t believe it’s a world’s course. Not fun to watch a course that’s 70% roped OB and 30% slanted greens.
For all of you complaining about spectators, it is what it is and a bad, off-fairway shot should be punished from time to time with a bad break, happens in ball golf too, they don't complain nearly as much as DG peeps do.
Jerm has to get rid of that assuming mentality and commentary, I feel like that will eat u alive in disc golf! Jerm always has such great inside info and just the need to know info n side stories and just a great commentator! Lately its like every shot he is like oh this shld be easy for him or like counting 3 steps ahead, which I know is hard not to try and predict too!
Spotter needs to be in a spot where he/she sees the entire flight of the disc. Spotter that doesn't see the flight of the disc is quite useless. It is also easy to avoid being hit by a disc if you see the whole flight. In the woods it can be tricky though if there are kicks from trees, but usually in the woods spotters are not needed. In most holes in generally spotters are not necessary. Players can determine pretty well where disc went ob, but spotters can help to find the discs in many places. I have done that for over 10 years.
Not gonna lie, it always feel like the sport is still in its infancy when actual spectators and standing in a place where they can negatively impact the players forward movement and especially impact wether or not the disc returns in bounds. Its a close second to tournaments where park users not there to watch disc golf are allowed to wander around and walk onto to the field of play as they wander the park grounds.
@@GRock9 you know where this stuff doesn't happen? Pretty much every other organized sport. That you think this is normal says a lot more about you than it says about disc golf. Someone always has to be wrong, glad to see you jump and be that one so quickly.
I don't understand how spectators are allowed in with stools, chairs, pushcarts. Anything that makes it harder for them to get out of the way of a disc should not be allowed. Yes I know it hit the guy before it got to the cart but it looked like it would ha e hit the cart too. Just seems odd that it is allowed.
Great coverage etc, that's a given. BUT, I REALLY dislike the music bleeding into the first tee shot on every hole. Not sure why you're doing that just for this tournament. I also don't like the music, but that's just a subjective thing.
I feel for Simon on the hole 9 spectator interference. However it is kind of ironic that it was someone with a stroller. Since he has had his 2nd child recently. 49:15 or there about.
