I don’t care that the screen’s bigger what sucks is how slow it is. There’s sometimes up to a 4 or 5 second delay. That’s pathetic. If it’s not as fast as me turning a nob or hitting a button than why is it even there?
@@maroofr it doesn’t rev high all the time when its driven properly. Its not designed for speed, its for seamless progress. If this had a manual transmission, it would make the same sounding engine noise if you floored it everywhere when accelerating. Thats because its the SAME engine yes ?
Yes, the cvt of Subaru is much reliable and smoother than other car brands. But I wish they can put a 6 speed automatic transmission on it, so it doesn't overheat the transmission when you want a maximum and spirited driving.
Im afraid Subaru has some solid reasoning to using CvT only on their SUVs. first, the fuel consumption. Secondly, its the symmetrical all wheel drive system arrangement for Subaru is heavily relied on the longitudinal engine positioning and only doable with CVT setups.
I really wish Subaru wasn’t so married to the tall vertical screen. I’ve got nothing against screens in cars, but that center stack just looks like they tried to copy other people’s homework with a Fisher-Price tablet.
Very Subjective, I like the vertical screen! Matches your phone screen when linked and doesn't look tacked on like a lot of other car companies do, integrates much better with the flow of the dash.
@@gregs4163 Agreed. At least it looks integrated into the overall interior design as opposed to some manufacturers who look like they just glued a tablet to the dash.
A bit dorky, but I am leasing for 2 years in hope of a hybrid or pls, pls, pls a turbo. I think they're due for a special edition. Maybe a tasteful upgrade of the screen too. FYI if you don't love using the screen....you have a voice command option.

This is my first time watching your videos and while the video quality is great, there wasn't any voice at all. The description said binaural recording meaning two microphones but with only the car noise and no voice is it necessary to have that? I felt like I was watching someone playing a driving video game. No thank you.
Cars aren't released on a calendar year schedule -- car makers don't all release models on Jan 1 each year. So there will always be a time where the model year and calendar year don't match, and it's always better from a consumer mindset to be forward looking... Most car makers release new models in the fall -- September or October. Those vehicles will always have the upcoming year for model year, so a vehicle that came out in Oct '23 would be a 2024 model. And models that are released in 2024 would have 2025 model year, and so on each year.
It's a nice vehicle...but Subaru please get rid of that bootleg wanna be Volvo touchscreen. Dat engine is tiny...but the price is good. That's the alternative if you don want to drive a Nissan or if you don like KIA/Hyundai or if your money is short for a Honda or Toyota, you still have the "American" brands(not my first choice that's for sure)but... their prices good too. Edit: why you be holding the revs tho? That ish is annoying
Ive had the CVT in an Outback, I never needed to get the revs high like you see in these videos on UA-cam. Its not the way to drive CVT. 4k revs was enough for everything. Its how you learn to drive CVT, its an art form to get the best out of it. They are not designed for heavy acceleration. Use “S” mode and you can make great progress without the engine sounding strained.
Thats why most of these Subaru videos are a joke, the reviewer floors it with a CVT then everyone moans about the noise, the revs holding at the red line, lack of power blah blah blah.
I drive a 23 quite alot and actually find it to be quite quick off the mark. It’s also super comfy to drive

yeah they need to get rid of cvt 🥶
the term "agricultural" came to mind, whenever the engine was audible, which was almost all the time.
I think it sounds better than those nasty fake shifts, especially the ones from Nissan. It's also faster and smoother to just let it wail.
