I've been helping and reaching my fellow Filipinos for more than a decade, since 2006, but without recording it on film.
I just decided to film the activities we do in 2015 to spread awareness.
This time guys: I need your help. I need your helping hands to give joy to Filipino families, one at a time.
How it works:
Your contribution goes straight to the individual/family we reach/help.
After we reached/helped 1 individual/family: We then move on to help another.
Our objective is to reach 1 economically poor individual/family, one at a time.
Important notes:
1. I personally don't receive/get/take/pocket any amount of financial contributions from you guys.
Your contributions go straight to the families we reach and to other expenses.
2. I do not publish on youtube the stories of the families we reach w/o a signed release agreement and parental/guardian consent.
The release agreement gives me a permission to publish their stories on youtube.
3. Business, personal and GoFundMe fundraiser accounts: All the funds, contributions, sources of income and other monetary sources that go into my accounts are being reported to the taxman. My bank also reports to the taxman every year, by the end of the year, FYI.
There's a Certified Public Accountant who does the accounting and auditing of my accounts.
The Certified Public Accountant reports to the taxman.
4. You don't need to open and register a charitable organization/foundation/institution to give help to people in the Philippines.
Reaching and giving help to people in the Philippines is not illegal.
There's no law that states, that you need to open and register a charitable organization/foundation/institution first, before you are able to give help to people legally.
5. GoFundMe checks the fundraiser account from time to time.
They sometimes ask for verification and validation.
The reason why I upload films/videos about poverty in the Philippines is to spread social awareness.
To combat economic inequality, social injustice, oppression, repression, abuse and exploitation:
1st: We have to be aware.
2nd: We should pay attention.
3rd: We are ought to do something about it.
We as Filipinos and citizens of this planet should not turn a blind eye, not to play deaf and not to pretend mute.
We as human beings have a responsibility to give care and to show compassion to others.
We as citizens have a great responsibility to safeguard our ball of genuine democracy.
We as citizens have a responsibility to fight tyranny and corruption.
A documentary film/video like this one is very important, because it opens our eyes to the unjust societal reality.
How could we turn a blind eye on social injustice and huge economic inequality?

Mark, you said that the people all over the world have the right to breed, but you must not forget that the poor people rely on others to feed their children
Knowing they are poor they the Filipinos produce babies at an alarming rate, the Philippines has no future for its people, it's obvious Filipinos are poorly educated people, now they're relying on E-begging, tell the father to go to work those are his kids stop breeding.
If they want to continue to bred more chuldren then one of the adults need to go and work. They should stop asking/ begging for help

At Singapore here, people's are hard to breed even everyone's are working ,it's because the everything's are so expensive. Government pays they people's to breed more children's.

Yes. I agree 👍 that they have the right to breed as many children as they want,.......but they don't have the right to start begging and expecting people to donate and handout to them food,etc!! THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD START EDUCATING MANY FILIPPINO'S IN THE PHILIPPINES ABOUT BIRTH CONTROL!!
Again I would be willing to work with you guys for a family planification guide to give to those people. We need to make sure they undertand how to prevent multiples pregnancies. It's the base and can save you a lot of moneyllll

While we pity these kind of families it is also very frustrating that they dig themselves into deeper and hopeless poverty by having many kids they cannot look after. It is also frustrating that these families continue the cycle of misery by passing their bad example to their children who will do the same. A nation cannot progress with too many people living in poverty. We are always behind economically from the rest of Asia. 😒🤨🙄

Their right to breed encroaches into my right to good governance. Natuwa ako sa paala-ala ni Mark sa couple. Somebody has to say it. Hindi puedeng hahayaan na lang silang mag-exercise ng kanilang "universal right." We humans are all in one boat. That's the reality.

By just giving and not teaching them to help themselves, we prolong the cycle of poverty. We become enablers. To truly help, do something long term like help them get jobs or educate one of the kids who can then help the family. Also a vasectomy or sterilization should be discussed. The current kids will suffer more when parents continue to breed but cant feed

They know things are hard and yet they continue to have children i consider that to be selfish in their part bringing children into their world knowing that they can't support the ones they already have.

I've donated but i stopped reason their negligence that's why.
I was born in Puerto Rico and no we didn't have a bathroom as we know it we had a latrine a hole in the ground but it was well covered like a bathroom i used that in the 60,s but my mom & dad kept the house emasculate a wooden house but very pretty well painted so why sit around all day and not clean up all of those factors are the ones that changed my generosity, sorry some may not like my comment and that's fine by me.

@@lindc1070 not as easy as you say, poverty is a different situation than a white couple in a rich neighborhood, they have access to many contraceptives, can access abortions, actually have the money to raise a child, had an education, had sex education in school. And that’s why they only have 1-2 kids. There is more to it than just, “easy, just don’t have any more kids”. You’re the problem and you know it, you’re blissfully ignorant on purpose.

Either you add on or redo their house so it can withstand the weather, with a good area to cook somewhat , poor kid is crying because her parents do not think but keep having kids to keep them in poverty they will probably not go to school at this point if they are barely surviving, 5 kids and the mother has a small new born almost, yet they put themselves in that situation and I know it is hard to look for work because of where they live... it will be forever a cycle you will keep filming them over and over , give them some sacks of rice what about later on, they need to sustain themselves be learning how to grow their stuff at least, from all the videos I watch it is the same story over and over, give them some mattress , baby stuff and like you build a toilet and house do something similar but at least give them something they can later rely on themselves...what is most important..welll you do what you have to...getting donations , etc...gotta do something more creative and rethink about how you are reaching out to these families...

Giving birth is a personal choice like you said Mark. Then stop asking for donations to feed those kids. If those poor families are irresponsible and have kids mindlessly, we shouldn't support such families.

Why they don't grow food? In many poor country even if you have no money at least you have your hands to grow food. Even if the land don't belong to them, what about around the house, grow some vegetables, do something.

Nope, it's not injustice. Nobody told them to have more babies that they can afford to feed. (but not just feed but to provide shelter and education). Life is what we make it. A few years from now, these children will themselves have their own babies. The good Samaritans will not be able to catch up. They multiply fast. because they have no career to get busy with.

In stead of food for the 4 extra kids they could buy the first child all school supplies and everyday snacks (learning on empty stomach is hard) and pay tuition

First of all its a good thing helping poor families out. What I personally don't like is the fact that you call out Cesar in the public. He might have to learn to be a bit more sensitive but this is something you can tell him privately. The other point is that those families still have some kind of pride. Letting them all line up in a row to let them praise you is really odd. You are helpful and kind but you are not Jesus. Just my 2 cents.
