Also the combat system is pretty friendly to click spamming even on the "sword and story" difficulty. And if you run into something hard, just run away, do other stuff to get stronger, and come back when you are powerful enough to faceroll it. :D (faceroll = so easy you could almost win by putting your face on the keyboard and roll your head back and forth hitting keys at random and still win)
Geralt names all of his horses after a fish...sadly the name Roach is lost in translation and many people think about the bug or cigar. In Poland though Roach is a type of fish. Also all Roches are mares which I just recently found out. Roach only exists in W3 but gets a brief moment at the end of W2 in a cutscene.
It’s very interesting to see a non-gamer reacting to game trailers. Very refreshing to see them through another perspective. If you decide to do more trailer reactions for Witcher 3, may I suggest the Elder Blood trailer and the TV spot? There’s a ton of them but these two are pretty good.
Thank you! I will check out the Elder Blood trailer! But it would be easier for me to watch the right one if you sent me a link! This is actually a really interesting way for me to learn more about this world too! Talking to people about how I reacted and learning about gaming culture is so fun!
HannaH's Over Invested ua-cam.com/video/RZzf69o4DVU/v-deo.html - Elder Blood Trailer ua-cam.com/video/O-x21I6K47E/v-deo.html - TV Spot Thanks you for taking the suggestion into consideration :)
The ashen haired girl he's asked to find in the second trailer is Ciri and the red haired girl in the trailer is Triss from the 3 episode in the netflix show and the guy in the baret at 5:48 is Jaskier (called Dandelion in the games)
@@HannaHsOverInvested Jaskier plays a smaller role in the game and i feel like hes a little different here. Maybe a little more serious but still goofy in his own way. As to their friendship yeah, after some time Geralt becomes more warmed up to Jaskier as times goes on in the books and their relationship is already well established in the games.
@@HannaHsOverInvested I've only played witcher 3 but they seem to be very good friends. You get to see a bit of Dandelions protective side with Ciri and it gets him in trouble so Geralt has to come to his rescue, and he's the storyteller of that game.
@@HannaHsOverInvested Oh boy I wish you could follow the story of the Witcher 3 because it's honestly one of my favorites and it's just so good. There's multiple endings depending on the example you set for Ciri and I don't want to spoil it but you need to be a good dad for her...
There are lots of details in these trailers that you wouldn't catch if you hadn't read the books. The bird is actually a kestrel, and you learn more of the love story between Yen and Geralt in the short story "A Shard of Ice". So, the kestral and the shard of ice at the end was an easter egg for people who have read the books. Many little details in these trailers that don't make immediate sense are basically fan flavor for people who have read the books.
On the highest difficulty you do become sort of a Witcher , researching fights figuring out the type of monster you are up against what are it's strength weaknesses etc
ua-cam.com/video/Hxse6xjuM8E/v-deo.html This is a song from the game and this video was released for the 5th year anniversary. The music in Witcher 3 is beyond amazing. The devs have put so much heart and soul into every aspect of the game, it truly is a masterpiece. The song's name is "hunt or be hunted" :)
Miss Hannah I'd like to recommend the Star Wars the Old Republic cinematic trailers; To be watched in this order for context: "Return" "Hope" "Deceived" "Sacrifice" "Betrayed". If you love space opera's than this will be an excellent introduction.
Also, for me personally that feeling is even more enhanced with games. Because you not only watch, but control „the badass“. You decide if he’s nice or mean in conversation, but you also face the consequences. You decide if he focuses on his magic, his swordsmanship or his potions and bombs. And instead of watching an epic fight, YOU fight and you lose, over and over, and when you finally beat that damn Boss Monster, that’s sooo satisfying. Also, many of those Role-playing games even let you create you own character: what he(or she) looks like, excels at, sucks at. You unwittingly start to write you own story in your head. That’s why it’s joked about that character creation screen can take longer than the actual game.
Love it! I recently decided to replay Witcher 3 and my wife was riveted to the TV and got completely invested in the story. She probably watched over 100 hours of gameplay. Then we watched the Netflix series. Now my wife has a Triss coffee mug, talks about "her Witcher man", and ordered the books. Then she watched me play Days Gone and the same thing, she got completely caught up in the stories and characters.
Your summing up at the end is exactly it. The allure of this games (the Role Playing part of RPGs kinda says it) is that you get immersed in the character's story. Your decisions matter, how you tackle problems matters, the choices you make matter. The story unfolds in different ways and paths to different endings depending on your actions. Those characters you meet and care for, their stories are different depending on how you treat them. Alongside the ride you will laugh. You will cry. You'll be jumping in joy. You will shiver in terror. You'll marvel at the scenario, you'll wonder what lies ahead, you'll feel worried for the characters you grow attached to... you'll be living the story yourself, not playing a game. Games like this are the closest thing to a first person movie or book you could imagine. Well made ones, at least, and The Witcher games are the best of the genre ever (probably alongside the Mass Effect ones. Can't think of anything that comes close to those two IPs). PLaying these games is actually living an incredible experience, and just missing on it because "you're not a gamer girl" is really really sad (and pretty dumb ;)). It's not about "being a gamer" or not, is about experiencing an amazing story as if you were the one living it. So you might not be a gamer but if you see the allure in living a fantastic story first hand, then you're just one step away from being one. Give Witcher 3 a try. The worst thing that will happen (and it will happen) is that by the time when you're done with it you'll regret not being able to erase your own memories so you can play it again and let it surprise you as much as the first time you did ;).
@@HannaHsOverInvested Well, I'm certainly no writer, so whatever I can say isn't based on personal knowledge... but the way I see it, those stories you create yourself. And the argument goes along the routes you plan. You have an idea of what'll be the route each character will take, what will happen in the story, at least in rough detail... That can't be the same as stories you don't know where they'll take you beforehand, that will surprise you at every turn and will keep you wondering about what comes next. Or put it in other words...do you enjoy reading books that grab you and make you part of the ride? watching movies you feel so immersed you think you're there?... Well...this is the same, just one notch further . As a writer you are the driver and creator of the stories you write, yes...but as a player of games like this you don't create the story...you live it as it progresses not knowing what will come next (and depending on what you do, the story changes ;)).
@@HannaHsOverInvested Also, suggestion. Very short one - the official trailers for Mass Effect don't do justice to how amazing the games and story was... But a fan made one does. For a sort-of-quicky reaction video (and your enjoyement): it's a trailer of the whole game trilogy: ua-cam.com/video/thfgHvxBVXo/v-deo.html
I have to say your reactions were priceless and take me back to when I first watched these trailers and being so excited only to find the game *was* as good as the trailers suggested. Amazing trailers aren’t they??
While it’s not pretty, historically speaking, when facing off against a mounted opponent one would often times resort to targeting the mount. Pole weapons where preferred for the job, but very large two handed swords where sometimes used to cut the legs from beneath horses so as to rob the rider of his advantage and kill or capture them.
The Witcher 3 is a once in a lifetime gaming experience. It still holds up after all these years, especially the music. After watching a few of your Witcher videos, I think it may be time for a fifth playthrough. Or maybe I'll just load up a save and play some Gwent.
Thank youuu!! Yes. A new one is coming out tomorrow and I'm about to film a bunch this weekend. People have been suggesting A LOT of different game trailers, so if you have any you want me to watch, let me know!!
I just started playing this game and came across your channel. Loved your reaction and best part the first video was the opening scene of the game only gets better from there.
Fan fact: Geralt names all his horses Roach. So even if his current Roach dies, he will gen new Roach 😀 PS: you can find that Ravens skull at the start of the game as an legendary item.
Yes!! You get it exactly! That's immersion. It happens when I read a truly amazing book, watch a truly amazing film or series, or play a truly amazing game. Where the real world fades away in your perception, and you begin to almost hallucinate the world you're reading/experiencing around you.
Geralt’s buddy riding with him is Vesemir, an older witcher who trained him when he was a child. He’s basically a father figure to Geralt and all the other Witcher’s from that school. They’ve recently casted an actor to play him in season 2, along with 2 other actors who are playing Geralt’s witcher friends, Eskel and Lambert.
I will always advocate the books and all three of the games from beginning to end in order. But If you have to choose one, your definitely looking at the right one. Wild Hunt, I believe does a good job at catching you up on all the absolutely necessary details, though it will require some reading of the in-game codex. I went through the games first and am almost through the book series so I can tell you there will be things you'll like to know but won't be critical to your understanding of what's going. Also yes there is the "Just The Story" which is recommended for for you if your new. But I say if your feeling REALLY adventurous I highly recommend the highest difficulty "Death March" ask any veteran of the game and we'll all tell you its the definitive way to play. I am so happy to see more people getting into this universe. I hope you enjoy the ride.
@@HannaHsOverInvested Have you heard of game movies. They are videos that have every cut scene and they edit everything around to make it flow like and actual movie.
You’re 100% correct on videogames and the personal connection for the gamer. In this manner, games offer a superior experience to any other form of media. Of course books and shows/movies offer their own superior qualities, but nothing can hook you like a good game in my opinion because it gives you the character in your hands, making your own decisions and forging your own path throughout the games events. Some games are more linear, such as for example a call of duty game. However there is still space for player agency in that you can choose what type of gun loadout and playstyle you go with. Then there is something like witcher, which has side quests and choices galore, but within the constraints of the character of Geralt of Rivia. Then there is a game like Skyrim, which is ultimate player freedom. A blank slate character that allows any race, gender and style of play. Then after that, all quests can be completed in so many different ways with evil or good connotations. It’s insane what they can offer. Hope you find your way in to gaming one day!
What's interesting about W3 is that given the actual events the game goes through(not including the expansions) in many respects Ciri, not Geralt, is the primary protagonist. Also, CDPR basically confirmed the next game will have Ciri as the player character.
There’s great videos of elderly people explaining how they got into gaming. It isn’t hokey like it was 30 years ago, the level of storytelling possible now is amazing
Fun fact. It was Roach in Geralt's mind. In books every horse is named Roach by Geralt. He just doesn't want to think about the horse names so he uses Roach.
I've been waiting for this! I totally love your reactions and commentary, just as I love this game and its trailers. I'll DEFINITELY check out your book, but don't trust myself to finish it soon enough to take the review deal. Good luck with marketing and sales!
That connection you felt watching can be even stronger while you are playing. There's the fact that you are controlling the main character and need to react and adapt to the world. But beyond that, sometimes you get into a flow state and everything else drops away, and that kind of connection to a character is really strong while it lasts.
This is a long time ago, but still nice to get back to watching these steps on your journey. Not so much to becoming a 'gamer', but someone that knows more and more what games are all about. Also, not knowing if you read comments on old videos, but what you could do, as someone that likes stories, is try a point-and-click adventure game. They are calm and not hard to get into at all. Simpy a matter of figuring out puzzels, be they logical or sufferers of the dreaded 'moon logic' (things that don't make sense at all). There are many old but great gems of them out there. But very few with good trailers to watch.
ok this is the first time i watch one of your vids and you will probably never even see this comment but DAMN you are soooo much fun to watch! Your reactions are priceless, 100% good vibes content!
Hey Hannah if you notice the guy in the first trailer that she runs into before going onto the battlefield, he is the same guy in the killing monsters trailer too. The one that is left for the woman in the killing monsters trailer to choose to hang or not.
When you said, "This stuff looks really hard guys", you were all of us non-gamers. I stopped playing during law school, and after those 3 years realized gaming was way harder than I remembered. But I do so love these game trailers. Thanks for the new series. 🙌
The frozen crow head is a foreshadow of the Wild Hunt, a very powerful, evil army of elfin mages. They are the ones who are chasing Ciri, Geralt's adopted daughter.
5:31 This is an in engine trailer and pretty sure it was pre rendered too, meaning its closer to how the actual game looks. The first one in the video was a CG cinematic trailer.
Books, films, TV shows, Role-Play or Story-Driven games all share the same foundation if they are to be any good. Telling a good story that gets one invested from the start. The major difference with Role-Play games is that (usually) they allow YOU to play the hero of the tale AND change the direction of the story. Some even allow you to more or less make up a story in a way no-one else does. Some games are in-depth story driven (Witcher) others not so (Skyrim), but they allow you to be "the bad-ass" and to play/live the story, rather than just read it or watch it.
I'm thinking about starting to write, and your commentary is so good for me. Your reactions tell me what you look for in a good story... I love it... please keep it up... you're inspiring me. Subscribed. Bell on. I like that you can speak everything you're thinking so clearly. We're similar that way. :) Thanks!
One among many reasons why video games are so popular is because everyone starts off the exact same. For the most part at the beginning of a game, no one has any advantage(or shall we say privilege) over anybody else. This is more prevalent in games that have the 'Player vs Player' option along with the 'Main Campaign'. This reason is seldom mentioned in my opinion.
Just discovered this little series and, gotta say, loving it so far! Its always fun to introduce someone to something you love :D Speaking of which, if you plan to continue this "NGW" series, would you consider watching the "Overwatch cinematic trailers"? They never fail to impress with their vissuals and somehow manage to make you invested in the characters, despite their short duration. I think you'd love them! I would personally recommend "Dragons" or "Honor and Glory" PD: Keep up the good work!
I did one and then a few people were like... ahh you started in the wrong spot hahah!! But I have a long list of them in the right order now. Thanks do much for watching!!
As a writer, you might be interested in reading Andrzej Sapkowski's The Witcher Saga, which games are based on. It's a great piece of literature by itself, think of LOTR and children's fairytales with a dark and grim twist. Although, that would be a great injustice to the author to condense his work into such oversimplified comparison. There's so much to it, and TV series is nothing like the books, so don't let that ruin your expectations.
You were right at why people love games. It's really like a book, you are living the story of the character. In this case, you are literally Geralt, you make his choices, you can hear his thoughts... is an amazing feeling, really. Also, I will sure buy your book after the quarantine here in Brazil, I was reading about it and it seems just like my type of book. EDIT: I think I mentioned in the other video some trailers that you could watch, but since this will be a new series, I gonna go ahead and recommend the Overwatch series. If you put them all together, is basically a movie. You can find them all here in order: ua-cam.com/video/FqnKB22pOC0/v-deo.html
I've already filmed one overwatch trailer reaction, that will be up in a couple weeks. I dont know where it is in order, but SUPER cool to know there are more. It was fun. And as for my book, thank you so much!! If you are interested in the audiobook, send me your email on insta or something and I'll send you the links (it will be mp3 files). But if you're a read off paper person, thats cool too!! :D
Games are interactive books nowadays. Witcher 3 is my favorite game of all time. It completely engrossed me in the story. Just as you said it, I felt like I was Geralt, and the game gives you the ability to make extremely impactful and difficult decisions that have far reaching consequences and change the way people react to you, whether certain main characters live or die, and even the way the game ends. It's a huge game, and might be hard for a new person to this medium to get invested in early, but I guarantee you'll fall in love with it and won't want to put it down. Also, that second trailer was almost entirely in-game footage.
I think it will help to place the show and the games in context, and the first five comments I saw don't seem to do it, so I will. (Edit: just saw Keep it Zen's comment, my bad) The show is a direct adaptation of the books. The first season covered stories from the first two books, which are collections of short stories. It establishes Geralt as a character and at the end of the second book is the story where Geralt and Ciri meet. Why they embrace in the forest makes more sense in the books because of the second to last story (the show combined the last two stories in the second book into one). Basically, Geralt and Yen come to see her as their adoptive daughter. Anyway, the Witcher Saga is the 6 books after it, which has to do with Nilfgaard's second invasion of the Northern Kingdoms (The first was also shown in the show, with the battle at Sodden and Cintra being sacked). The last book ends ambiguously where Geralt is supposed to be dead and so is Yen, but Witcher 1 picks up a while after that when Geralt actually turns up alive with no memory of anything that happened before he came back. The first two games have their own plot but in between that, Geralt regains his memories bit by bit (especially in Witcher 2, by the end of which, he has regained all of them). The Witcher 3 starts with Geralt being on Yennefer's trail (which is what you saw in the first trailer). At that point, they haven't seen each other since they died. So basically, the games are like fanfiction in that it uses the characters of the books in a totally new and original narrative, but it is officially licensed. Personally, I like the games more than the books, but honestly, they each enrich the experience of the other, which is a lot more than you can reasonably ask for in an adaptation. I cried at several point through the course of Witcher 3's story.
And the best is that this is still just barely scratching the surface. there is so much to the whole setting (and even to the Witchers themselves - after all, Marshmallow and Company are just some of the featured ones, there is some really neat contrast to them).
@@HannaHsOverInvested I admit, I did *not* expect an answer. I'd recommend taking a look at the other games as well. Maybe the "Letho: the Return of the Kingslayer" cinematic? It features a very different breed of witcher (who also happens to be a major antagonist in the second game).
The withcer 3 has four levels of difficulty(from the wiki): *Just the Story! (Normal)* You're Happy to be Challenged _Players earn the default number of Tw3 icon xp for tasks._ _Meditation regenerates vitality_ *Blood and Broken Bones! (Hard)* You're a Seasoned, Demanding Gamer _players earn 90% of the default number of Tw3 icon xp for tasks._ _Meditation does NOT regenerate vitality_ *Death March! (Very Hard)* You're Truly Insane and Loving It _Choose it if you are a hardcore gamer and worry that the other modes would be too easy for you!_ _Meditation does NOT regenerate vitality_ ---- With that said I feel it's worth informing you that there's plenty of great "lets plays" here on youtube you could watch to see someone else play and comment on the game instead of having to play it yourself.
@@HannaHsOverInvested We're used to different things. I've been both a reader and a gamer all my life, I'm used to interacting with the story. That means films and TV shows can't usually keep my attention for long, I find it hard to engage when the story moves on on its own and I'm just a passive observer. You may not be a gamer but are a writer, you know what it's like to be the actual conductor of the little drama in your hands. Why not give some good game a chance someday? Many have easy modes for non-gamers, that are there precisely to allow you to live the story, actively conducting it, without all the fuss of high difficulty. You may discover a new way to interact with good story-telling.
I'm a simple man. I see the Witcher Cinematic, I click. I just loooove seeing non-gamers or, people in general, checking the Witcher Cinematics. I can hear the soundtrack like forever!! My mom loves seeing us (my brother and I), playing because of THIS: "Is like a movie" that's what my mom says always.
Yennefer is crazy powerful. You saw that in the game trailer where she shook the ground and swallow up the Nilfgaardians, and yeah used the crystal skull to turn it into a bird etc. If you watch Netflix, there was a hint of her power in one of the episode where she set fire to everything around her. And the white-haired girl which you were asking "WHO IS THAT??"... that's Ciri. Yeah she looks different on Netflix cuz Netflix started the stories from the timeline of the books. The games start some time after the books. So Ciri's grown up (and powerful) in the game. In the game, there are portions of it where we control Ciri too, and play as her. Fun fact - Geralt's horse is always "Roach". Even if he changes horses. The current horse he's riding is always called "Roach".
Just wanted to say I really enjoyed your reaction, you have a great energy and curiosity about you. I've subbed, and will be back with some trailer suggestions. Welcome to the gaming community. Hopefully you'll be inspired to play some of the games you've been reacting to. Like a good book, they can be very rewarding.
If I were to suggest another game trailer to check out, it'd be this one for Horizon Zero Dawn, a game about an outcast woman searching for the answer to personal questions, who ends up finding mysteries a whole lot larger (oh, and fights robot dinosaurs with bow and spear along the way to saving the world) ua-cam.com/video/u4-FCsiF5x4/v-deo.html
The Just the Story level is perfect for non-gamers and its absolutely worth the invedtment. It is spectacularly beautiful and the story is... Ok, he whole thing is a master work. Also, you should check out the 5th anniversary video of Hunt or Be Hunted main theme. It's so powerful!
If you send me a link on insta (bc UA-cam doesn't always tell me when I have a comment) I will add it to my list! @hspaisley Thanks for watching! And I cant play the game! It will take over my life I'm sure!!
Exactly that's why people play video games to not only enjoy the stories, but to feel as bad ass as the character. And as an amateur writer please let me know where to buy your book, I still enjoy a good book.
Thank you! My book is called Magic Required and can be found on Amazon, audible, iTunes, Barnes& noble, and most anywhere that is a major distributor. 😃😃
6:37 it's not weird, . your own imagination transports you into w\e the story medium is, . sometimes you're beside the hero watching the story unfold, . sometimes you ARE the hero. l LOVE compelling creative stories. :o)
One reason why it "doesn't look as good as the other trailers" is because this trailer uses footage from the actual game. In the other trailers you've watched, people specifically made the character models, trees, lighting, voices, movement for that specific trailer. In The Sword of Destiny, they took the game itself, did something in the game like a fight, Geralt using magic or just riding and made a trailer out of that instead.
If you're interested in writing and game writing as two separate topics, I recommend checking out comedy games since they're written nothing at all like conventional comedy in books or tv. For examples, I really like Stanley Parable, and Untitled Goose Game
I posted a couple but I think I missed some... If there are any you'd like me to watch, send me a link on instagram (bc UA-cam doesn't notify me with all comments) and ill add it to my list! @hspaisley.
Real fast explanation. The Emperor of Nilfgaard sends Yennifer, his court sorceress out to find his daughter Cirella (Ciri from the series.) He also sends for Geralt and gives him the same task. So Yen is searching for Ciri, Geralt is trying to catch up to Yen to also find Ciri. Yen and Geralt are sort of ...surrogate parents to Ciri, who is the daughter of Princess Pavetta (the Princess who threw up in that episode of the Netflix series) and the Hedgehog knight...who turned out to be the cursed heir to the throne of the biggest Empire...that of Nilfgaard. At the time of the Netflix episode, his father had been murdered and the throne of the Empire usurped...the heir had been cursed. Time passed, the curse was lifted and now it's almost 2 decades later...Ciri has been missing for a LONG time and is no longer a little girl (or an embryo as she was in the show.) The Wild Hunt is on her trail too but for very different reasons...she carries "Elder Blood"...she's the direct descendant of a Human Princess and a High Elven king...and only her blood can save the world...or end it. And there have been a lot of wars, assassinations, plagues, etcetera. It gets kinda complicated. And it is kinda like the Lord of the Rings, only not as straightforward. Enjoy.
I did watch the show (reactions on my channel) so I did know some of that... and I am afraid to read the second half of your comment because I don't want to be spoiled for anything 😬😬😬
Hanna, .. As a writer you really want to try out the Witcher ,.. I think you'll be impressed by the mix of Slavic/ European folklore and human condition storytelling. The story itself is as important as the combat in this game. Its like a chose your adventure book, in that you as the main character you need to make dialogue choices throughout the game that effect what happens or choices that get presented to you as you progress. The way content is presented is this game its very enticing and you often find yourself distracted off the main quest as you stumble into one story after the other all of extremely high quality. In most open world games you find side quest that are nothing more then filler content, where as in the Witcher 3 you might be tasked to find a missing woman only to find out the woman's sister took her into the woods to her husbands hunt camp where he goes to hide and safely ride out his change as you find out he's a werewolf and the missing woman (his wife) was fed to him by sister so she could be with the sisters husband ... what do you do next let the werewolf have his revenge and kill the sister .... or do you slay the werewolf.
I've played WoW for a number of years. I can tell you I have an emotional attachment to a couple of my characters. I imagine I am not the only person that feels that ways. I have played a few other games but they don't do it for me like WoW. Maybe because it was the first mmorpg I ever played.
@@HannaHsOverInvested They really do a good job of advancing their story line through game play and cinemas. They also use novels to help advance the story. After the last expansion (Burning Legion) and before the current one (Battle for Azeroth) the novel Before the Storm connected the two storylines.
HI!! been watching your series and i really LOVE your reactions! as a dedicated gamer, i really appreciate your comments about the games. there is a game called "ghost of tsushima" that i think you would love. its a samurai themed game set in japan where the mongolians invaded the country. and the game is historically accurate! (i think).
Magic in the Witcher world is elemental magic. So air, water, earth and fire. Remember Yennifer had to learn the balance to the chaos. The give of the flowers to levitate the rock. Technically, these games, The Wild Hunt come after the books. The trailer you watched with the vampire girl, she was a very old and powerful vampire. She ran an orphanage and fed from the children but didn't kill them. She rather took good care of them so no one was the wiser. With all the war things were all scattered and she was discovered. Thus the Witcher contract. I'm not a gamer either and enjoy all your reviews and fresh eyed options and comments. It's truly appreciated in this time of darkness in or real lives. 😊
Yennifer leaves the skull and other tracks for geralt to track where she went. Witchers have witcher senses which can detect better than humans. Wish they had smart phones lol
i know this isn’t witcher related but would you consider doing a video about your book? what it’s about and such? it may garner more attention! reading is literally my favorite thing to do and i’m always looking for something new to check out, especially if it involves fantasy. i’ve never been much of an audiobook person but i’d be happy to grab a physical copy if you have them. thanks!
I will do that. That's a good idea. I never liked book trailers, but maybe just a short, this is what my book is about, video. Thanks so much! If you want to buy a copy of my book, you can find it online amazon, barnes and nobles, or chapters :D
This maybe a bit late. I was going to answer the question about the crystal(bird) skull. But it might be a spoiler for when you start playing the game.
@@HannaHsOverInvested hahahah maybe not addicted but after finishing the game there's always this feeling of emptiness, not sure if it's with every game but definitely with Witcher 3. You get so emotionally attached to all those characters and it's so hard to let go! I'm sure you would enjoy it, I'm not really a gamer as well but it's been a pleasure to play this one (on easiest difficulty but still hahaha)
Even if you don't play videogames... you should play this game, because its like watching an entire series of tv-shows where you are the main character, and you end up being immersed into the story so much, that when the game ends, you mostly will get depressed because it ended. A normal game would end after 10/12 hours of experience... the witcher games can take between 150-300 hours depending on your playstyle and how much you want to explore... Think of each quest in the game like a small tv-show episode... and you have hundreeds of quests, some main story... others sidequests. and in the middle of that, you have a lot of story and character development, a very well written game that is also the very best modern RPG ever made. This is why everyone loves this game,, this is why they even made a tv series out of it... it was not just becasue the books were very good, the game helped to understand the story and the world of the witcher would work very well as a screen play.
I think that a lot of people compare the three too much. I have only watched the show, but I know from other book to movie adaptation, they need to be separate or you will for sure be disappointed.
One day you will meet the real Geralt of Rivia and you be like, "Marshmallow ??" and the look on Geralt's face be like, "The Heck ???"🤣🤣🤣. I'm Waiting for that day 🤣🤣🤣.
The ashen haired girl in Sword of Destiny trailer is Ciri:). In Wither 3 she's in her early 20s.
Ohhhhhhh okay cool!!

You should definitely try at least, the story is amazing and the gameplay is fun.

Roach is not actually one horse, Gerald name all his horses Roach.
That is so funny because I name all my bikes Lyle.
@@GremlinHunter Not all roaches are mares. Geralt prefers mares, so most are, but not all.
Gremlin Hunter if anyone plays Animal Crossing: New Horizon, it’s spelled a little different.
The loach.

The ashen haired girl he's asked to find in the second trailer is Ciri and the red haired girl in the trailer is Triss from the 3 episode in the netflix show and the guy in the baret at 5:48 is Jaskier (called Dandelion in the games)
Oh! Is he as wonderful in the game as he is in the show? Are you allowed to be nice to him? Because geralt is a bad friend in the show.

The Games take place after the Books/Show. So that white haired girl is grown-up Ciri.
Don’t forget to watch the dlc trailers too, blood and wine and hearts of stone

React to Celebrating the 5th anniversary of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Yea! I just saw recently that it was 5 years!
ua-cam.com/video/Hxse6xjuM8E/v-deo.html
This is a song from the game and this video was released for the 5th year anniversary. The music in Witcher 3 is beyond amazing. The devs have put so much heart and soul into every aspect of the game, it truly is a masterpiece. The song's name is "hunt or be hunted" :)
I had read the entire book series, and played all three games so when the 5 year anniversary video came out. I CRIED 😍
Miss Hannah I'd like to recommend the Star Wars the Old Republic cinematic trailers; To be watched in this order for context: "Return" "Hope" "Deceived" "Sacrifice" "Betrayed". If you love space opera's than this will be an excellent introduction.
Thank you!!
6:41 is exactly why we play these games
I'm learning this!
That's cool!
I'm a writer, so I'm in the drivers seat of those stories.
For a sort-of-quicky reaction video (and your enjoyement): it's a trailer of the whole game trilogy:
ua-cam.com/video/thfgHvxBVXo/v-deo.html
I have to say your reactions were priceless and take me back to when I first watched these trailers and being so excited only to find the game *was* as good as the trailers suggested. Amazing trailers aren’t they??
So good!
Haha UA-cam algorithm send me here and taking a look at your channel I guess this series is going to continue :D Im hyped

I just started playing this game and came across your channel. Loved your reaction and best part the first video was the opening scene of the game only gets better from there.
Fan fact: Geralt names all his horses Roach. So even if his current Roach dies, he will gen new Roach 😀
PS: you can find that Ravens skull at the start of the game as an legendary item.
Thats exactly how it is, especially for RPG (Role playing games)
It's like a series or a movie, except you make the decisions for the main character
Interesting! Thanks for sharing!!
I have so far!! Thank you!
I love to play as Ciri

"What did that horse ever do to you?" Well he was on a battle field and thought that enemy was coming at him...
Thank yoouuuuuuuu the audiobook is live that interests you. You can find it on audible, Amazon and iTunes.
That connection you felt watching can be even stronger while you are playing. There's the fact that you are controlling the main character and need to react and adapt to the world. But beyond that, sometimes you get into a flow state and everything else drops away, and that kind of connection to a character is really strong while it lasts.
I feel that with a lot of things haha so I can only imagine if I started gaming.

Trying to support your channel so keep it up 🙌
I'm thinking about starting to write, and your commentary is so good for me. Your reactions tell me what you look for in a good story... I love it... please keep it up... you're inspiring me.

Oh I totally get that 'getting into the character' thing I'm writing myself and every damn time I end up becoming that badass xD
Its always fun to introduce someone to something you love :D
Speaking of which, if you plan to continue this "NGW" series, would you consider watching the "Overwatch cinematic trailers"? They never fail to impress with their vissuals and somehow manage to make you invested in the characters, despite their short duration. I think you'd love them! I would personally recommend "Dragons" or "Honor and Glory"
PD: Keep up the good work!
I don't know if I want to spoil bits of season two. That's why I have read the books yet.

@@HannaHsOverInvested overwatch has some real good trailers. My favorite is The Last Bastion.
I am learning so much!
I think it will help to place the show and the games in context, and the first five comments I saw don't seem to do it, so I will. (Edit: just saw Keep it Zen's comment, my bad)
The show is a direct adaptation of the books.
Thank you!!!
And the best is that this is still just barely scratching the surface. there is so much to the whole setting (and even to the Witchers themselves - after all, Marshmallow and Company are just some of the featured ones, there is some really neat contrast to them).
My fingers are crossed for season two!
Best Witcher 3 cinematics are done by team lead by Tomasz Bagiński, guy was nominated to Oscar for his short animation.

My mom loves seeing us (my brother and I), playing because of THIS: "Is like a movie" that's what my mom says always.
hahah yes mom! I am into it too.

Thank you! My book is called Magic Required and can be found on Amazon, audible, iTunes, Barnes& noble, and most anywhere that is a major distributor. 😃😃
In case it hasn't been mentioned, The White haired woman was Ciri (the little girl from the TV Show)
Thanks!
I think I did figure that out/ was told that between watching these ones and watching others. Thanks for the info!!
Fun fact after “What did the horse do to you” and “The horses” comments, easiest way to take out Calvary is to turn them into foot soldiers😋
😣😣 but like... Enslaved foot soldiers.
If you're interested in writing and game writing as two separate topics, I recommend checking out comedy games since they're written nothing at all like conventional comedy in books or tv. For examples, I really like Stanley Parable, and Untitled Goose Game
I recommend the cyberpunk 2077 e3 trailer (made by the same company from the witcher games).
I posted a couple but I think I missed some... If there are any you'd like me to watch, send me a link on instagram (bc UA-cam doesn't notify me with all comments) and ill add it to my list! @hspaisley.
My boy the marshmallow, hahahahaha, Stay Awesome
🤣😂🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼Thank you!!
I've enjoyed watching your reactions so much that I just bought the book :)
Oh thank you SO much. Please let me know what you think of it!
In 1272, a man and his horse were one entity.
Dying animals 'oh my gosh, horses...', dying people ..
Your reaction make the video more awesome. ❤️
Haha thank you!!
If you ever get around to playing this game, you WILL fall in love with this game.
I think you're right.
I've played WoW for a number of years. I can tell you I have an emotional attachment to a couple of my characters. I imagine I am not the only person that feels that ways. I have played a few other games but they don't do it for me like WoW. Maybe because it was the first mmorpg I ever played.
I'm really getting into the WoW story. There is so much to know.
(i think).
Thank you!
Thank you so much! That is so kind of you to take the time to say!
I mean... there's no reason you can't be a gamer. You've got all the character references.
Being a gamer Makes you part of the movie. its a movie that you control.
I love your reactions so much! If you make a gameplay of the Witcher 3 I'll definitely watch it ❤️
Thank you!! Like if I actually played the game? I dont know. I think I would become too addicted and it would take over my entire life hahaha!
The old guy is another Witcher called Vesemir. He trained Geralt.
👍🏼👍🏼
