I’ve always respected Ilan Pappe, he’s so ahead of our time and he’s done so much for my people, for fostering a well rounded interpretation of their struggle, and of the structure of Zionism in the modern day. I’ll definitely be obtaining a copy of this book, none of his that I’ve read have failed thus far.

Pappe lives on this level of effectiveness because he has made his choice, knowing that fine-tooth historical research becomes either a careerist's cold museum-piece or an active part of unleashing the historical truth into present evolutionary learning and action, on behalf of the whole human community.
Yes, Professor Pappe is so important and badly needed. I disagree with him regarding Edward Said and Danny Baremboim but then Pappe is blinkered in his cylo and it's difficult to look over one's bucket into another bucket. I'm hoping that I can meet him and have an interesting conversation with him that may help both of us. In any case, Israel 🇮🇱 and Zionism is over, finished forevermore as the USA crashes and burns as all empires do. Democracy was never desired or even given a chance. It's sad that many more lives will be lost before the interloping group called "Israel" returns to their genetic DNA home back in Europe. In my opinion, if we want to bring this conflict to a respectful end where Israelis and Palestinians can live in peace side by side, we have to put our fate in the children. That's a simplistic way to look at it. Sure, UK elites have done a great deal of damage when they were one of the world's super powers. But all super powers have that problem. It doesn't have to do with the region it is from, but with the structure itself.
The Roman Empire, the Mongol Empire, USA, UK, all of them both brought great development and countless misery in their times. Sadly it's part of the game. What we have to do is look at these structures and do our best to improve them. Repudiation of the people that run these structures is a part of it, sure, as it contributes to healthier incentive context, but it is far from enough. War mentality assumes unpopular decisions are mandatory, whatever the price.

That phrase has been interpreted as wishing the destruction of the Israeli people (so best not to use it), and if you & others use it a lot it might be interpreted in that way by some (extreme) Israelis and lead to the (complete) destruction of the Palestinian people.

Ilan Pappe is the only man I have heard so far who offers a rational and realisable solution to this Middle East conflict (although it will take time and further bloodshed).
As in South Africa with a one-state solution and one person, one vote, but with an independent multinational authority with the likes China or Russia who can come down with an iron fist on dissenters and prevent civil war.
This nevertheless means imposing BDS boycott, sanction and divest by the rest of the world against Israel and USA. Since currently 95% of the world stands against Israel, with co-ordinated leadership and courage, this can be achievable.
